And having an active OL is generally going to be preferable to a bot. However, teams shouldn't become trash just because there aren't enough OL to field the positions.

All this does is puts out infinite supply of OL for a hefty budget hit. Meanwhile, a team would want to draft you so they could get a player that upgrades throughout the year instead of a stagnant OL, and probably sign you for cheaper than a bot. (The bot prices are meant to be high to encourage teams to field anyone that wants to play OL).

Now this makes sense to me. If we still want to bring the budgeting portion into it, you could pay for a percentage increase or decrease on that average. Quick example: 500k for 20% less than average, 1mil for 10% less, 5mil for 10% increase, etc.

This sounds pretty good, but I think the cap increase is a bit excessive. Teams already have a shit load of space.

That's not really how that works.

If you took my player and put me on a team without any other good DL players and implemented the current OL changes being discussed. I would still get plenty of glory stats for myself. I'd probably end up with about 4 tackles and a sack each game.

Teams can function like this because they can compensate for the bad DL with LBs/S.

It's apples and oranges imho.

@7hawk77

That cap space was determined to give each team the option to get an entire OL worth of around ~350 TPE.

I'm fine with decreasing this number to $10 million or even lower if other GMs prefer.

I think cap space doesn't matter so much currently, but it definitely will given a few more seasons.

Also it needs to be stated that GM's will have to hire a full depth chart of OL (6 total). No more free OL bots.

Those yards per carry averages are more in line with what I would like to see here, to be honest. Pro Bowl RB's with 3.3 avg is pretty silly.

My initial tests that used linemen all around 425 TPE resulted in a YPC increase of about 10%.

I'm on board with Hawk's tiered bot proposal. Would've paid for IFA fillers anyway, so it's not really costing too much more.

I think this is a good solution. How often will we be able to reconfigure our OL? Once each preseason?
