(S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - Benthicc_Biomancer - 05-10-2020 It was largely through a series of accidents that McCabe entered football, and whilst he is filled with respect and gratitude for the sport that's bought him and his family a better life, he maintains a number of interests and hobbies outside of the league. McCabe maintains a passion for his favourite childhood sport of basketball. Whilst the basketball career he once dreamed of never materialized, McCabe is nonetheless wired into the sport at all levels and a game of hoops is always the first thing on the agenda when McCabe hosts old friends in Portland. McCabe also maintains several leisure activities unrelated to sports. The pro-bowler is a voracious reader, a habit instilled by his mother, who spent over 25 years as a public-school teacher. Although McCabe doesn’t exactly read high literature, mostly having a appetite for cheap thriller and horror fiction, more specifically he’s working his way through Stephen King’s If It Bleeds anthology whilst eagerly awaiting the release of the next Jack Reacher novel. Since coming into the league as an undersized offensive linesman, McCabe has also made a concerted effort to put on the weight required at the position. In addition to frequenting the cafes, bakeries and eateries of downtown Portland, he’s put found great fulfillment in developing his own cooking skills. As of late McCabes been learning how to cook more fish-based dishes. To hear him tell it, he’s already a deft hand with a chunk of salmon but he hopes to master more complex fare as the season progresses. Galf Wilf knows this so he spends a lot of his free time away from the field still working. His work ethic is what got him to the top flight of football and he knows that to stay there he be the best he needs to keep that work ethic going. That's the obvious stuff. When Wilf does manage to find some time to himself he has a handful of hobbies he likes to partake in away from sports and football. He's a big fan of cooking. Watching cooking shows growing up, he found a love for making meals from scratch and he really enjoys the satisfaction of doing something good for his body. He typically tries to avoid cooking anything too greasy as his intestines can be notoriously unstable. Galf also really enjoys watching television and movies. One of his favorite movies to re-watch in the offseason is the Lord of the Rings extended edition trilogy. He really thinks those movies are just a perfect work of art and an absolutely incredible story, both the movies themselves and the making of them. That's pretty much it for him. He tries not to have too many "lazy days" because he knows playing football is a dangerous game and he'll get to be plenty lazy in the future when his career comes to a close. (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - Sermokala - 05-10-2020 PBE PT (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - Symmetrik - 05-10-2020 Byron Dolls loves all kinds of sports. Given though that he has to be healthy for football, and his size as an offensive lineman, it really limits his ability to play sports other than football. So in his free time, Dolls stick to sports a lot, but watching, playing fantasy, playing video games. Dolls owns every version of the latest sports games, SHL 53, PBE 18, SBA 2k45, and yes, even NSFL 22. He runs fantasy teams in each of those major leagues, except SBA. Outside of sports, Dolls also loves writing. Under a pseudonym, Dolls has actually written 2 children's books, and is also working on writing his first novel. Dolls has talked a little bit about the writing before, mentioning his usage of a pseudonym as a way to let the "books speak for themselves", as he doesn't want to use his status in the NSFL to take a spotlight from other writers, or get undeserved success just because he's already got a spotlight. Dolls also has a fondness for puzzles, and he's shown off before on his instagram a pretty epic transforming table, a great multi use table top in his basement, of which the top can be removed and open a clean puzzle space. The top can be closed back up when needed while keeping the puzzle intact and covered. He's said "it's good since it can take me a while to get some puzzles done, I'd never finish them if I had to take them apart to use my table". (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - AlexF - 05-10-2020 As a wide receiver in the DSFL I have a whole lot of free time. Honestly, I have more free time than I do actual work or training time. It's actually pretty insane. I'm getting paid a cool 5 million dollars to sit around and chill. Being in my second season though I have started to get pretty bored just sitting on the sideline watching the team practice running the ball so I decided to pick up drawing. I even bought a tablet recently so I could start drawing digitally. A friend of mine showed me this cool site called artstation, and let me tell you those people are talented with a capital T. Some of the stuff they can bring to life is actually unbelievable. Obviously I want to get to that level some day, and I know it's going to take some hard work to get there, but as long as I'm stuck down in the DSFL raking in the easy money why not learn it now? I've got nothing better to do. What am I gonna do, pretend to run routes to try and trick the defense? We all know the ball is staying on the ground. This is the DSFL after all. (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - SwagSloth - 05-10-2020 Maz-Ta "Baby" Yoda is a bit on an anomaly as it's much easier to picture him off the field than playing on it in a football uniform. By all accounts, the youngster has certainly beat the odds when it came to his dream of playing professional. That said, he certainly does have a life outside of football. We've all seen the memes and there's truth in that. Yoda is very child-like. He loves chicken nuggets and chocolate milk. He considers his teammates to be his friends and spends a lot of time with them after practice. He's the little guy with a larger than life personality. But it isn't just fun and games; Yoda tries to give back to the fan base that made him a star. He realizes that the fans were the ones who helped put a spotlight on him and give him his opportunities and so he works hard to reward their loyalty, making personal appearances at events through the state of Arizona and even some back in Minnesota, where he played for the Grey Ducks. He loves to interact with people and spread joy and any opportunity to do that is one he welcomes. He may not have the perfect diet or workout routine, but what he lacks in traditional preparation, he makes up for it in his passion off the field. In addition, he also is a fan of martial arts and is learning different styles as a hobby. His size makes it difficult, but he's embraced judo as the fighting style teaches you how to use your opponents' size against them. And, when you're Baby Yoda, everyone is larger than you. 278 Words (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - gucci - 05-10-2020 For the running back formerly known as White Goodman, football isn't everything. He's always been passionate about fitness and has been called a gym rat. However, since moving to the islands he's undergone a huge change in personality and is discovering tons of new hobbies. Surfing is the newest passion in KKM's life. Something about the sun, the ocean, and the breeze in his hair has clicked for him. He feels his own spirit and energy in deep connection to the ocean while out there surfing. The good people of Hawaii have embraced their new star running back's new passion, and some of the best surfers in the world have invited him out to learn from them. His natural athleticism shines in his new sport. He has natural balance and has really taken to the waves. Obviously he's always been a huge sunbather as well. Hawaii allows him to do this year round, even better than LA, and obviously much better than Dallas, although he'll always remember the days out on Possum Kingdom Lake and the ladies of Texas. They always knew how to appreciate a glorious mustache. Ke'oke'o will continue to enjoy life in paradise and continue to work on his hobbies and his football. (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - SouljaBoy2007 - 05-10-2020 Off the field, I don't do anything too out of the ordinary. In the time between games I go hang out with my teammates or stay home and play video games with them. I'm the best at the new Call Of Duty but Covington won't admit it. I also play a bit of NSFL Football 35 and GTA 7. Outside of that I'm trying to learn how to cook but it's been a slow process. My mom always cooked for me and my siblings growing up so I have basically no experience. I tried to make a steak the other day and I could barely even chew it. I also just got a puppy who I spend a lot of time with. He's a lab mix that I got from a friend who's dog just had puppies. He gladly ate the steak that I ruined. Me and my teammates are always going out to get dinner and bond. It's great that we're able to make real friendships on and off the field. If we have a ton of time away from football, like a bye week or the offseason, I fly back to Chicago to go see my family and spend time with them. They can't always come out to see my in Kansas City or wherever else I play so it's great to see them every once in a while. (S22) - PT2 - Lazy Days - Bauer - 05-10-2020 PBE PT |
