(S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - 2Burkeulosis - 06-21-2020 The London Royals are the team to beat this year. We have the number one team in the DSFL by total TPE. With the 2nd ranked offense and the 1st ranked defense. This year I will accept nothing less than an Ultimini Ring from my teammates. Not an Ultimini. An Ultimini Ring. There are 3 guys in particular that I want to draw attention to. These 3 guys have been with me since the team's founding and along with myself they are the only members of the original Royals roster still with the team. The rest have either moved onto the NSFL or have retired. First we have our safety Ed Ball. He may not be the biggest or the strongest player in the league, but he is definitely one of the toughest. As an added bonus he is just a great teammate and nice dude. Next our undisputed RB1 Jacoby Batista. This guy is a beast. I remember playing with him during the prospect bowl. I think he had a 75 yard TD run or something crazy like that. I just remember thinking “this guy is the real deal”. Last but certainly not least we have our quarterback Colby Jack. He is the perfect QB. Smart, dedicated, athletic he is the complete package. As the undisputed leader of the offense he is always checking in on everyone making sure they stay motivated and making them feel appreciated. There is not a single other person in this league that I would rather have undercenter. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Kyle - 06-21-2020 PBE (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - KoltClassic - 06-21-2020 Although the Sabercats were looking to have a breakout season last year, the change in quarterback from veteran Dan Wright to rookie Monty Jack will likely set us back a bit for at least the next couple years. That isn’t any shade against Jack at all, but it is tough to make a playoff run in a sim league with a rookie quarterback. Some other key losses include Action Jackson at the wide receiver position who was signed by Yellowknife, as well as losing Brayden Ennis on our defensive line to retirement. While we had a great S23 draft, coupled with the assumption that we’ll be resigning some other key names to longer contracts, I still think that it takes time for a rebuild to happen and San Jose might be on the losing side of things for the next season or two. Hopefully we will be able to make a playoff run before veteran linebacker Tyron Brackenridge retires. He has been a cornerstone of our defense for years and I would hate to not have him on the team by the time we get all of our pieces together. As for breakout seasons, I think that my player Otis Allen is primed for a great year. With some key defensive lineman retiring in Bjorn Ironside and Brayden Ennis, as well as regression hitting some veterans like Giannis Kroustis and Thorin Skarsgard, Allen has found himself in the position of the #2 ranked defensive tackle in TPE. Although the sim is notorious for TPE not aligning with actual performance, I would hope that now would be a great time for Otis to start showing elite-level talent and being recognized by the award committee. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - SwagSloth - 06-21-2020 This is Baby Yoda again. I'm really excited for our team this year and I wanted to tell you guys why. We started out 1-3, but the guys are working really hard and I think we are going to start winning more if we keep trying to get better. I think that's why coach says practice is so important. Of course, everyone knows Jay Cue and Saba. I think they're one of the best QB-WR combinations in the league. But we also got two really good WRs to help them out, Jah Bur'Berry and Thomas Passerman. We also have our TE, Heath Evans, who is reallly good at his job. I'm our only running back and I miss having other RBs to play with like we did back in Minnesota, but I'm trying really hard to do the best I can, so hopefully that helps the team out, I only have one Touchdown so far, though, so I'm trying to get better at reaching the end zone. I wish Ruff Ruff were still here because I could use his advice on a lot of things. I'm really exited for our defense, too. Our D-Line has 4 great guys and I'm glad I'm not playing against them on game day! Even though we lost Oles, we have Zamir and Desmond, who are both great CBs. And everyone knows Galt Wilf is one of the best LBs in the league.... or at least he is in my opinion! Like I said, it will be hard on us this year since we lost 3 games already, but we have an extra 3 games this season, so I guess we can afford to lose some of them. I hope we can turn it around because I really want to win a championship. I hear the trophy is as big as me! 306 Words (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - morsy - 06-21-2020 I am a proud member of the Honolulu Hahalua, a team that, as you probably all know, was one of the expansion teams in National Simulation Football League last season together with the Sarasota Sailfish. We managed to get a decent record last season, although not a winning one, but the Sailfish won more games and we can‘t have that, as they‘re our direct new team competition. So for this season I have two wishes for our team: The first one is to be better than the Sarasota Sailfish. The second wish is to make a serious playoff push. I know it might be a steep goal as the ASFC is by no means a weak division but I know there are teams that aren't any stronger than we are. We just have to take our chances and make them pay for every mistake they make and push for every yard. We have some excellent additions to the roster this year with our rookies. Heinrich Kackpoo is an excellent rookie linebacker and Momona Keiki-K?ne, Logan Noble Jr and Buck Thornton should play major roles on the team after gaining some more experience in the Developmental Simulation Football League. I know our competition is strong but I still believe we can surprise a few people and teams and have a serious chance to fight for a playoff spot this season. And even if it won‘t work out, we have a core of great young players that will only get better in the seasons to come. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Skyline - 06-21-2020 The Yellowknife Wraiths are in prime position, poised for another potential playoff targeting and pandemonium causing season where they wreak havoc and rend asunder all potential competition across the National Simulation Football League. Hopefully, in contrast to the prior season, the Wraiths are able to do more than secure a first round bye and get bounced in a one point loss to the Yeti in the conference championship game. This is Cooter Bigsby’s, Yellowknife’s fearless leader, swan song of a season before the more handsome Jack brother is likely to take the reins. As a result, the whole team feels pressure to bring a championship home so that Cooter’s legacy is further cemented as a top QB in the league’s history. To help him are the stalwart and, frankly, terrifying Running Back pair of Matthias Hanyadi and Acura Skyline. Despite sharing a backfield, both made some serious noise at the awards season last year. Additionally, the addition of Action Jackson to the passing game further bolsters the Wraith’s passing attack with declining yet still productive Nate Swift and the new WR1 Bender Rodriguez. And that’s just the offense, the defense is equally stacked from toes to teeth with young forces like Hellzapoppin and Cho, and old guard talent like Virtanen and Leonard. The Wraiths should be poised to make some noise. 221 Words (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Evok - 06-21-2020 https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php...4876#pid2854876 (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - SDCore - 06-21-2020 PBE PT claim (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Raven - 06-21-2020 Quote:Written Option: Everyone’s got hope for the upcoming season. Describe how your team is situated and how your teammates will be contributing this season. Are you hoping for playoff success, or simply to improve from the previous year? Are any of your teammates poised for breakout seasons or awards recognition? As a gm you can only hope the best for your time. You want to see your team winning games and you want to see all your players getting the best stats they can. As an expansion team in a hard conference, this can be something you look up against at times, especially as a young team who is in the middle of gaining tpe before they can really go on a tear. Realisticly our team will be looking to win as many games as we can this season, likely not pushing for a playoff run just yet, but as our players keep growing we will see that change in due time. I would like for us to be around .500 come the end of the season as it will prove we have grown and while we currently sit at 1-3 we also probably have put one of the hardest shedules behind us with 3 very tough away games in 4 games. As a total cop out answer, I want to see all our players be able to have a breakout season in their own right. I woud like to see the young and rookie players play to their fullest and for our vets to get consideration in their respective positions. All I know is that I am very exciting for the upcoming future with this team. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - J0EB - 06-21-2020 ![]() ![]() ![]() The Philadelphia Liberty are in a good position right now to be in serious playoff contention this year. After filling a few holes in the draft at DE and NB, and calling up an OL and TE to help out on offense, this team really has strong potential this year. Their Season 22 DB Squad of Booker, Eriksen, and Myself (Cross) only continues to develop and grow stronger, and paired with our excellent LB core our defense is likely to surprise the league with its success. Stephens and Howyanow are in a position to keep thriving and making plays too. On the side of the offense, all the pieces should finally fall in place, Brock has improved his arm and should have a breakout year with star WR Nacho Varga, and the rising Randy Vuxta and Flash Panda. The TEs Blocksdale and Arriabata will provide excellent targets as well. The run game by Torenson and Dotson should be just as strong this year as well. In Philly, we have our sights set on the playoffs. Last year we missed it by 1 game, but we won’t let that happen again. We’re a much stronger team than the year before so we know that we have the potential to make the playoffs. Sarasota is really our biggest obstacle, it’s likely to be a close contest for that 3rd spot again, but after beating them on the road Friday, we’re in a pretty good place right now. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
