(S23) - PT3 - Dream Team - furiousPanda - 07-05-2020 If I were in charge of a expansion team, I would pick somewhere a little more international. The team would be called the Lublin Hussars, after the famous wing-hussars of Poland. The color scheme would be red, white and bronze. There are several reasons why I would pick them. Lublin is a city in Poland and it contains a rich history. There is a lot of castles, churches and a town square that is amazing. I t would be a great city to have a team in! Also, American football is growing in Poland and Europe as a whole, so interest would peak! Look at Great Britain, a ton of fans go to their games and I think the sport will do well in Europe. Also, the Hussar mascot is great. It deviates from the animal team of the NSFL and the mascot is fierce. The history that is surrounded from the winged Hussars is enormous. Additionally, people won't ask the question, "What is a Hussar?" It's a mighty elite unit that helped the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth win many battles. They were tough soldiers that also helped Europe from the grips of the Ottoman Empire at the battle of Vienna. I feel like the team would surround itself with the tough mentality and win a ton of games. This would be my dream team. Code: 224 words (S23) - PT3 - Dream Team - Huskies311 - 07-05-2020 I’ve had this team idea for awhile - in fact, it’s a team idea I had when I was a child making fake leagues in madden and in backyard football leagues. That team branding is the Ottawa Lynx. I think this branding would be good for the league for a few reasons. The first reason is it’s a realistic location. It’s not halfway across the globe, and not too big to work with just like most of the other teams in our league (Orange County, Sarasota, Honolulu). The location would also work because it would give Yellowknife a geographical rival in Canada. The second reason is Lynx is a sensible branding for Ottawa. Lynx are a mascot underutilized in the world. Lynx are also a very recognizable Canadian mascot, so it’s a mascot that actually works. Finally, the branding color scheme is the final piece to the puzzle. For branding, I have two options - Green and White like the Michigan State Spartans, or Maroon and grey. Maroon and grey is a classic look, whereas the Green and White would be a more futuristic look. Either one would be floated and compared to each other. All of this makes an attractive package for future expansion plans, and hopefully one that actually gets considered when I pitch it for future expansion. (S23) - PT3 - Dream Team - Jason - 07-05-2020 Code: Written Option: There’s been a lot of talk about expansion drafts and what might be in store for the league going forward. If you were in charge of creating an expansion franchise, what would you name it and where would the team be located? In 200 words or more, describe why you picked that name and location and explain why your franchise would make a good NSFL team. Even though I would say that it is highly unlikely that I would get a chance to GM an expansion team in the NSFL after only being here for a couple of seasons, I'm going to act like I would be the perfect GM for an expansion team. Since I am Canadian and there's only one Canadian team in the NSFL, the Yellowknife Wraiths, I'm going to put another team north of the border. Now the question is which location would probably be the best for a NSFL team. Toronto would probably be the best location in terms of having the largest population and market, but I'm going to put one in my hometown Montreal. When the Alouettes were actually good, the stadium was always full so I know for a fact a lot of Montrealers love football. Even the university games are always packed. The real question is the team name. I would've really liked to use the Royals and be the Montreal Royals but London already has that name so I don't want to take it. I'm going to use the Montreal Blitz because that was once the name of a football team based in Montreal and I think it makes for an awesome team name that would put fear into the eyes of the enemies. I know it sounds like an arena football league but I think it sounds awesome. Code: 233 words (S23) - PT3 - Dream Team - Naosu - 07-05-2020 Is it strange that I’ve never even thought about making an expansion team before? Across all my leagues, I’m not too interested in becoming an expansion GM so I’ve only vaguely thought about a city better never branding or making a real decision on the city. Being from Western Canada and looking at which teams are currently in the league I think I would narrow it down to either Vancouver or Edmonton as the city. Even though there’s already a Vancouver team in both SHL and PBE, I would lean towards Vancouver. I like the city as a whole more and I actually lived there for a short time. Games would be played at BC place when the Lions weren’t using it. As for branding, that’s a tough one. Orcas are somewhat in use with the Canucks, and there’s already two fish creatures that just joined the league making Salmon less appealing. For the purpose of this PT, I would go with the Vancouver Brewers. There are a ton of craft breweries around the Vancouver area and it’s a decent hipster town so I think the Brewers fit well enough. I don’t think they would make that great of an NSFL team quite frankly. I barely know how to assemble a roster and would be a not very good football GM. (S23) - PT3 - Dream Team - gucci - 07-05-2020 If I got the opportunity to name another team, this time I'd avoid Texas. My second idea that didn't end up happening when I created the Dallas Birddogs was to be set in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Instead of putting a team there, if I had a do-over, my team would be placed in Pittsburgh. Philly needs an in-state rival and the east coast of the US is woefully underrepresented in the league right now. I'm not sure on the name, to be completely honest, but I'd be open to considering input from whoever this hypothetical co-gm would be. One thing I could guarantee about this team is that the locker room would kick ass. Dallas has been a huge success in its 3 NSFL seasons because we cultivated a locker room culture that has kept players engaged and interested in the league. We have vets who regularly contribute to the conversation from both of our prior two teams and I would look to carry this over to any future expansion teams I'm put in charge of. Personally, I'd prefer to be put into the NSFL, as the DSFL proved a bit too toxic and doesn't seem to be improving. But Pittsburgh would be the spot. It is players with this team first mentality that we are looking for to be part of the first squad on the moon. That's right folks I said we're putting a team on the moon right now I need. The first team on the moon will play with the first man on the moon landed in the Sea of Tranquility and they will be named after the shuttle that took them to the surface of the Moon. National simulation Football League fans please welcome the the Tranquility Eagles. Now people often like to mention the advantage that the Colorado Yeti have but playing home games and training and practicing at that high altitude but that pales in comparison to the advantages home team would get on the motherfuking moon. Imagine the amazing leaping diving catches better receiver could make in zero gravity. We are bringing football and Humanity two entirely New Heights. We will be playing football with the gods. Into achieve these great new heights I would like to announce qualities new partner Space X. Now I'm not some fancy, highly educated science man so I'm going to hand over the rest of this announcement did the founder and owner of Space X, Elon Musk.
