RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - TheSparkyDee - 08-15-2021 Chicago butchers have lost a tough overtime game. It is something that has come normal to the whole team and whole city. If you ever watch the Chicago butchers play football they struggle to win in the fourth quarter. We seem to forget how to play football in the fourth quarter. Defense doesn’t decide to show up and the office forgets how to move the football forwards. We are trying our best here in Chicago but it is coming very hard. We are winning games in the first three quarters but they have us in The fourth quarter. It is tough to see us lose each time this way. But this Game we got past the fourth quarter to finally have it tied but we are in the OT with an open mind. We then would go on to lose by a last-second field goal. The field goal was a 55 yarder dagger, and we had to Watch the football go up and into the between the pipes. The Home stadium was quiet as a church mouse. We do not know how hard this OT loss would have taken a toll on us. Some people are saying that the GM’s are going to have to quit because they can not seem to win games. 214 words RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - dogwoodmaple - 08-15-2021 PBE affiliate PT RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - Fronk - 08-15-2021 In this fantastical hypothetical scenario where the Minnesota Grey Ducks lose an OT game to [wait who again can match up to the Grey Ducks] one of the DSFL teams, I’m sure the loss would bring up lots of question marks and adverse reactions from both sides of the ball. The war room between the front office people in Minnesota would probably start to double-take as they see their strats hit the 5% part of the pie chart of winning or losing the weekly match ups. Rivals: I think any team that can put up a good fight and keep the game between them and the Grey Ducks competitive would be considered a rival. You could say that the DSFL North has rivals among all four teams as lately they’ve been the stronger division in the DSFL. Usually the third place team in the North would have made the playoffs in the South division. Twist my arm though, and I would have to say Norfolk Seawolves. Something about Negs running the helm and being able to put the team in its place just feels so good after the games. And recently, the tables turned at the latest match up. Norfolk gave the Grey Ducks their only loss of the season. The locker room was surprised in a humorous way by way of beat down. RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - furiousPanda - 08-15-2021 Rivalries are what drives a lot of players in the league. It keeps the motivation elevated. It helps keep the competition and intensity at an all time high. And the fans of the teams really enjoy it since the games bring a little extra every night. As a quarterback of the Portland Pythons, the biggest rival is the Kansas City Coyotes. If a game in overtime ended with a loss, the team would be devastated. A lot of players are passionate and competitive players. They care about the rivalry which makes the fans celebrate the team even harder. Panda McKyle hates the Coyotes with a burning passion. McKyle would be furious! He would be furious with himself and his teammates. His reaction would be to work harder, train tougher and study smarter. Hopefully this inspires the rest of the team to follow suit. McKyle wants to make sure he is the example of leadership and show the will to win! Then, McKyle would make sure that every player from defense to offense shows up to the gym, practice and film room to make sure it doesn't happen again. So that next time the Pythons play the Coyotes, there will be no close defeat but a valiant and decisive win! Armstrong as we all know, was the star QB of the Orange County Otters. They've won a lot which ironically makes the losses a little more memorable. One of the most vivid losses I can remember was against the Austin Copperheads. The Otters had a somewhat ridiculous 27 point 4th quarter lead that they somehow completely squandered within regular time. The Austin Copperheads didn't even need overtime to win that game. And to make it all worse, it led to the Otters not securing first seed, which thus ended in a road conference championship loss that they could have had at home. Another memorable loss occurred against the Copperheads that ended on a late 4th quarter 60 yard TD run by the Coppperhead's starting QB Easton Cole. Looking back, the Copperheads may have been one of the biggest rivals for the Otters during the Armstrong era but another team can also fit that description and that is the San Jose Sabercats. Armstrong's first career game and loss was to the Sabercats and his last game and loss was to the Sabercats. Cross conference rivals would include the Wraiths. The rivalry featured two straight Ultimus battles which ended in one score Otter victories. Also the Baltimore Hawks should have an honourable mention as they are the only team in the ISFL Armstrong had a losing record against. Code: 237 words RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - Amidships - 08-15-2021 Every team is our rival, so any loss is a tough loss. After a tough loss, though, we tend to band together and shout about odds and luck, because we know we've put in the work to make sure we have a good game plan. It all comes down to execution, and the reason for most losses is failure to execute. If we execute our game plan correctly, we should win most games. There are bad rolls of luck, however, and we are never guaranteed a win. With the team we have, we can always expect to be competitive even against the best of the best. Our quarterback and fearless leader, Jackie Daytona, is always ready to pick the team back up after a loss. His sure footed leadership keeps the team's morale high and focus zeroed in. As a leader, Jackie Daytona, is one of the best; his skill to keep the locker room motivated and pushing is unparalleled. On top of his solid leadership, we also just have a great group of players who understand how things work and are still motivated to always do better. At the end of the day, losses will come and the Austin Copperheads will always work through them and keep trying even harder. Though, I would say that our biggest loss of the season was against the Arizona Outlaws back in week 2, when we suffered a severe loss to them at our own house after seemingly being up for most of the game. After the game, our locker room was devastated and despondent after the loss as we knew we were better than the outlaws. The locker room as a whole sulked after the loss for a little bit until our QB, Sloth, brought us together and told us that the game was not a true reflection of our abilities and riled us up (in a good way) by telling us that we are a great team and have always rebounded from games like this. I reacted with great fervor and believed wholeheartedly in what Sloth was saying. I know that we are a great team and like in the past few seasons we have always rebounded to make the playoffs while defying the odds. I just hope that for this season that we can not only make the playoffs but finally break through and win the trophy! RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - Billybolo53 - 08-15-2021 PBE PT RE: (S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss - Kotasa - 08-15-2021 This one isn’t easy for the Arizona Outlaws. Losing isn’t something they’ve done often this season standing at a cool 12-1 record entering the final stretch of the season, but losses will and do occur to everyone. AZ’s biggest rival in the past has been OCO, two teams with a bunch of titles, though some have asterisks next to them. As of late it has to be the New York Silverbacks, the expansion team has come out swinging and has beaten us in the playoffs anytime we’ve faced them and in the regular season we tend to split 60/40 in favor of AZ. By no means are they pushovers. If we were to play them again it would be in the playoffs and I can tell you, the LR would be grim. AZ has been one of if not the best regular season team since the combo of Z-whiz and Crunk tagged up and sit at a cool 70+% winning percentage. However, we’ve yet to win a playoff game and the mood is always killer. But there is one player that always brings us back up and back to focusing on next season and that is none other than Tayshawn Crunk. The GM and player are both always looking forward knowing we put ourselves in the best position to win. The man puts his heart and soul into the team and I always loved that about him, it’s why I signed in AZ. We always look forward after a playoff heartbreaker, at this point we’re used to it! |
