I would have expected Baltimore to hold off on signing both until after regression. Additionally, with the Hawks having a chance at signing Applehort, why sign Blocksdale early? Now, if they sign Applehort, they lose money on Blocksdale. Taking regression into consideration, they wouldn't have fallen into the next lower TPE threshold so $3M is the same now or later. As for Blocksdale the player, he either wants to finish his storied career where it started or maybe a sign and trade? That Blocksdale part is purely speculation. If Applehort does sign in BAL, that gives them a cheap option for a season while they prepare another QB. With contract extensions like this you actually get what you would have for regression. So my min right now no regression is 4M, but with the regression we're both down to 3M. As far as Applehort? We'll see. We're first focused on an Ultimus. "Hey, Blocksdale, good luck in the big game, but first please sign this document stating that you're getting worse. That probably won't be in your head at all." @iamslm22 How can you do that to a player who has been so loyal and hard-working for your team? @iamslm22 Why do you play for a team that treats you like that?
