Even though your knee-jerk reaction is usually to assume that OCO is doing something shady, I can't say I blame you for thinking that in this situation. The timing of it is a little unbelievable. It's even more hilarious this way, but yeah especially since the most interested/damaged party in Yeti in this scenario is fine with this there is no reason to make a fuss about it.
Otters obviously gain the most, and while this makes me slightly angry because of competitive reasons everyone should be happy that active and productive member of the community returned.

Yea what can the Yeti guys even say. This franchise just has the absolute worst luck. What're the odds that the day they trade him he comes back. Feel bad for them

I can tell you officially that we went to OCO with the offer, and didn’t remember that Ramero said he’d come back around now.
While the trade obviously isn’t as good for us now that he’s active, it was a coincidence (as far as we are concerned) that he became active the morning after.

He told us in our LR that this was actually what sparked him to come back when he saw the tag pop up in his email. Basically, this is all the result of Jiggly.

To bring a personal light to this, I also had just signed an extension with Colorado and had told the GM's at the time that I was a loyalist first and had no intention on leaving their team in free agency, even willing to play out the rest of my career in a Yeti jersey. I signed an extension in Orange County because it's my belief that one semi-active season won't be enough to suck in that locker room, and also because it wouldn't be fair to head straight back to Colorado. I will be approaching this situation in a way that is fair for everyone, as that's what I believe is right.
And yes, as stated above I did very clearly say that I would be returning, and well it's bad time it was an oversight and not a conspiracy. Both of the Colorado GM's are very good guys, and it hurts to have this happen to them but I know they'll rebound.

This really sucks for Colorado damn. Not his fault though obviously and if both GM's agree it was an honest mistake I think that's a pretty good mantra to take.
