(S11) - PT 4 - Card Collecting - BWIII - 11-06-2018 Brock Weathers has always been in the card collecting game from an early age, mostly in part to his aunt. She is the one who introduced him to card collecting before he really even understood it and was barely into sports. It's something that they've shared over the years and is something that he loves. She has an amazing collection of old time cards from the 30's & 40's, but Brock's game has mostly been focused on game used and signatures. His favorite card though, which isn't his most valuable by far, is his autographed Frank Thomas card his dad got when he was a kid and most of that is because it was his dad's favorite card. The story goes that his dad went to a Mariner's game as a kid and as Frank Thomas was entering the Kingdome he stood next to Thomas, reached into his bag of cards, and extended his hand with the first Frank Thomas card he could find. Thomas grabbed it out of all the cards thrust his way and signed it. As for BWIII his favorite card in his collection that is actually his would probably be a Mickey Mantle card that is #'d 3 of 50 and is game used pants and also signed. (S11) - PT 4 - Card Collecting - kckolbe - 11-06-2018 Kevin Fitzpatrick has always been an avid card collector, and when Winchester 2017 (the premier NSFL video game) came out with in-game trading cards, Fitzpatrick started buying up as many as he could find. At his peak, he had the largest collection in the entire league, rivaled only by a user known as SimmerDownBruhh, who was rumored to be both an NSFL player (tight end for the Yellowknife Wraiths) and a murderer. Fitz started putting together an impressive collection, and was active on league community forums with suggestions for others. Unfortunately, there was no card for himself, but he heavily campaigned for one, especially since other, less talented players of his draft class already had their own cards. He spent millions of dollars of in-game currency building the biggest collection, until one day it was announced that the game would be shutting down the trading card aspect of the game and deleting all user files. Despite having spent more than any user in the league, Fitzpatrick was not reimbursed in any way for his lost investment. Even worse, he never got to see a card for his own player. Fortunately, years later, rookie draft cards were implemented for free, so at least he has that. Thanks, PPT, for the depressing memory. (S11) - PT 4 - Card Collecting - goilers - 11-06-2018 Josh Parker collects hockey cards and hockey memorabilia, it’s a hobby that he enjoys to this date. When he was younger his dad had a love for collecting anything sports related but soon feel in love with hockey only. He would collect sports figurines and cards and autographs from players around the league. Once Parker was old enough he would help his dad sort out the cards and rate them, one of his proudest cards that he has to this date is a signed Mario Lemieux rookie card that his dad gave him to start his collection. This is something that he will keep for a very long time, it is very valuable now a days and someone would pay good money for that. He continues to collect cards even though he is a professional football player he still has that passion for collecting and when he goes home him and his dad have something to bond over for years to come. Both of their favorite team is the Edmonton Oilers and of course their current favorite player is Connor McDavid, they both got 2 signed rookie cards and were really excited when they opened that case. They have quite good luck, hopefully this is something Parker will enjoy for a long time. Code: 213 Words (S11) - PT 4 - Card Collecting - Trautner - 11-06-2018 Danny Grithead always loved collecting cards of his favorite baseball players as a kid. While Grithead ended up playing football, the one true pure sport of the world for tough people, baseball still holds something dear to Grithead's heart. In particular, Danny Grithead likes to collect cards of his favorite Pro Baseball Experience players. Grithead's favorite card is his Season 5 Julian O'Sullivan MVP card. Julian O'Sullivan was one of the PBE's greatest hitters of all time, and Grithead appreciates the numbers and hard work that O'Sullivan put to become such a fantastic hitter. Grithead also likes to play in OOTP Perfect Team mode, where he collects cards of his favorite PBE players. His lineup features Season 7 Kevin Biggio, who stole many many bases while getting on base at a really high rate. Then, he has Season 7 Ozamataz Buckshank as his #2 hitter, forming a fearsome duo that matched what the Scorpions had in Season 7 themselves. Season 6 Vick Thunder is next, who dominated the league in home runs, followed by Julian O'Sullivan. Grithead loves to play with these cards that remind him of his nostalgia of following the PBE while growing up. He plays against his teammates everyday, especially Angus Winchester who has a lineup full of Eduardo Dinero. 213 words (S11) - PT 4 - Card Collecting - Muford - 11-06-2018 You know, some people collect cards, some people collect books, even others collect movies, then some collect cards of all types, poetry cards, pokemon cards, yugioh cards, magic cards, etc., but not D’Pez Poopsie. You wanna know what D’Pez Poopsie collects? WELL I’LL TELL YOU! D’Pez originally started collecting ants for an ant farm, but he realized he couldn’t keep the little fuckers alive long enough or he wouldn’t put them in a damn cage and they would be all over the house. So that really backfired as a kid and it actually pissed his parents off, so they decided to help him with his collection need by allowing him to collect pet rocks. Yes, yes, I know, you are looking around and saying, wtf? Pet Rocks? Well let me tell you about the lovely assortment of rocks D’Pez has. They each even have names! He has a Rock named Rocky, a Rock named Docky, and a Rock named Socky. He even has a rock named Fred, another named Sted and a 3rd name Bed. You know, D’Pez wasn’t really the best at naming his rocks, but alas this is his passion and he might even go further into it, he makes sure that everywhere he plays he collects a rock for his rock collection. Probably the coolest and likely somewhat more obscure cards were from a game called MLB showdown. A buddy of mine introduced me to it and shared some special edition Chipper and Andrew Jones cards from when he lived in Atlanta, and as a baseball and card game fan I was immediately hooked. Basically the offense and defense would each roll a 20 sided die, with the higher value looking up the result on their hitter or pitcher card respectively. Other than the Jones cards, a few of my favorites that I can remember right now were Richie Sexson, who had an extremely high home run rate but was almost definitely going to strikeout otherwise, and Chad Ortega, who was a terrible pitcher that could barely get anyone out but would actually become an amazing hitter compared to other pitchers when not using DH. MLB showdown and the other games I mentioned were amazing because you got both the collectible aspect and the chance to play games with them, as ootp perfect team is carrying on the legacy of as we speak.
