I do not know if the NSFL is my main sim league right now. There was definitely a time where the NSFL was more of mine sim league than it was of anybody elses sim league but that is not exactly my favorite memory of the site or anything to that affect.
I guess my favorite thing about the NSFL is the fact that it is a football league and there are a lot of people that are passionate about football here that really do not have a place to go on about their interest in the sport in other leagues. Many of the people in the league are around in other leagues and I do not really associate them with the NSFL at this point, especially because I had my infamous break from the league between my two stints in the league.
At this point, the NSFL is just as much of an obligation as something that is fun, the biggest thing to keep coming back is that people have thrown out their sim league resources to select me and put me on their team and at this point I cannot just disappear and bail on them so I am going to have to stick it out and keep on earning TPE. Sooooo…..enjoy this.

The NSFL is special to me, not because I'm good here or even because my favorite people are here; but because it was my first. I think that there's something to be said about joining a league before its first season as your first sim league and watching it grow and thrive. I only found out later that many people did not expect it to last as long as it has, almost 2 years in a few months. I've talked about it a couple of times, but having this sort of structure in my life: Every Monday I find a new .gif to post in the Activity Check and update, really helps keep me focused in other things as well. As someone who was struggling with depression, the NSFL gave me a community to vent to and learn from. Whether I was learning anything important or not is up to others, but I feel like I'm a better person because of being in sim leagues like the NSFL. I don't think it's for any specific thing, it's just being able to consistently communicate with other people here has helped me deal with things on the outside in life like depression and loneliness. I may feel alone sometimes, but the NSFL is a community where I'm not.
