Oh that was the impression I had beforehand as well!
Actions speak louder than words and all I saw was complaining about the pick in the stream and now here. I'm positive the Wraiths got an incredible player and user with their pick but that doesn't mean you need to talk down on the NOLA pick of Gump to try and make it seem better.

I'm not letting this reaction in the moment paint my entire impression of EnfysNest either I just wanted to point out it was a bad look.

I mean, if you had been soaking up every possible point of TPE since you joined the league and written several thousand+ word articles to show your involvement, wouldn't you be a little disappointed if someone who has shown less than you (although still a very good amount) was picked before you? He never disparaged Gump, but just said that Marshall will be a better RB than Gump in the NSFL which seems like a safe bet based on the TPE and bank account disparities.

So many more variables than just TPE and bank accounts to consider though.
Since I'm in the New Orleans war room as well I know that RB was definitely not something needed when going into draft and the pick was made purely to get Hanks in the LR as he impressed JuOsu in pre draft interviews. Obviously that decision was then endorsed by me and others.
So it was not a pick made with the thought "we're going RB here which is the best one". It was "we don't want to miss out on Hanks so we'll take him here even though he's a RB".

Maybe that information will help @`EnfysNest`? You shouldn't feel disparaged, there's so much that goes into these drafts and as someone who had to draft this class last season I know every decision is made hard with the knowledge you're missing out on so many great guys no matter who you pick. You have a great landing spot Yellowknife where you'll have plenty of opportunity straight away in your rookie season, as well as great teammates and two very competent GMs.

5. Copperheads - Chase Jensen, TE

Wow, another pick I am not in love with. Again, fantastic talent, but a position that just isn't all that important. Not too mention that Jensen is going to be a bigger value in the blocking game then the passing game. I think the Copperheads will not get great value picking a tight end this high.

Were it me on the other side believing what you do about tight ends and their value, I'd probably wonder what it was I was missing when two former tight ends who both ended up on multiple top 10 career receiving lists decided to make a tight end their first ever selection.

Why? What is with these GMs? I just don't understand. I am experienced in this sim engine and while I know defensive lineman can be overpowered, I haven't really seen that in this league so far. This pick should of been the safety Walt Green as they really need a safety. Maybe they end up with one later on.

I was not expecting to go this early at all lol. Still, gonna save this as motivation to prove I was worth the pick!

Love the attitude! OCO is getting a gem!

Relax man, nobody is attacking your guy. We just doing draft takes here. I don't think Gump needs anyone coming to his defense on why he was drafted where he was drafted. Yall got your guy and we got ours and we'll see how it shakes out in a few seasons.

Vander over here calling out lots of picks with his opinions, it's just a little media, nothing to get worked up about.

Hate this pick, absolutely hate it. Not because of the player, I believe Nero Alexander is one of the two most talented players in this draft, but I dislike spending this high on the position. They really need a guy who can fill in for Dick Wizardry in Seaosn 16 and leaving Morgan Marshall on the board is bad. Hope they can fill the RB need somewhere else. Alexander is a great player nonetheless.

I got some story behind this if you'd like to hear it:

So we're sitting there in the war room with Marshall and Alexander being the top guys on our board at this spot, but 100% leaning Marshall for the exact reason you described, we needed a RB. At the same time we're working Sweetwater in FA about coming to us. Basically after a decent convo we hit him with this: "Here's the situation: We're about to draft now-ish and we're this close to picking a RB. So just tell me right now, your gut instinct, you wanna be here or no?" He balked a little at us putting him on the spot that quick without any good foreplay, but quickly agreed and we made the choice to draft Alexander.

We honestly thought we had lost Marshall at that point and that he was gonna get snagged by Colorado or Chicago or something. We had accepted the fact we were either just gonna go singleback with Sweetwater or try to score another back in the later rounds and maybe snag Walt Green in round 2. Pretty soon we see Marshall dropping and we're wondering if we have a chance to trade back up into round 1 in order to take him. We had sent out a few offers seeing if we could find a way to do it without paying too much. In our mind we were just getting another round 1 pick. Well, nobody took the trade bait so we sat there and watched, and watched, and watched, wondering if somehow magically one of the top 3 guys on our board was gonna land in our lap at 14. And the rest is history.

Damn this got fiery. I like Marshall’s confidence in his player. I also have only had positive interactions with Gump.

There’s definitely an air of entitlement in the reaction to not being the first RB off the board that’s Rosen-esque, but he has every right to be confident that New Orleans made a mistake passing on him. I’d say show your stuff on the field though, not in the discord/twitch stream/media comments everyone.

Oh I'm very relaxed lol, I'd hoped that came across in my responses but maybe I should clarify I'm not mad at anyone here or hold any animosity towards either Enfy or shady, or Vander for that matter.
