my answer to those people would be that we get consistently more creates for any of those 4 positions than we do for dline and oline combined and its not very close

also, dline when chosen is probably the position that people position change out of the most, other than perhaps qb for other reasons

and finally, if we do successfully get more people to play the positions using this idea, i think it would actually increase their draft stock, rather than decrease it....that's one valuable ass person to draft if you're getting both to build up

If the league thinks the current situation is untenable, and it’s between this and adding DL bots (something talked about in the past), I’m 100% more in favour of this idea. If we can continue with the status quo, I prefer that.

Status quo > DL/OL combo > DL bots

The nice thing about this idea is we basically alter the rule so you just create a Lineman who has two sets of skills for defense and offense. Same name, background, and you can just think of that player never leaving the field, on for both d and offense. Honestly a great compromise to avoid bots.

I like that. Treating it like one player who just gets two sets of stats to work from is kind of interesting narratively.

This is 100% the reason I changed positions. If I knew I could keep improving for my team beyond 400 TPE even if that meant it was going into offensive lineman stats, I would have never switched with Sam.

I think it needs to be one player and mirrored earnings. I would not double earn for a position like this. We are talking about replacing bot positions with real people willing to play very underappreciated positions on a team. There is no harm in allowing a user to earn TPE and then giving out that TPE for both builds.

Sorry I didn't make this clear. I meant that if a player focuses on only one part of the build, he doesn't have to start at both spots, but he certainly could. I didn't mean it to sound like the GM had to choose each week whether he played one position or the other. It just to say by default linemen can play both sides of the ball, and can choose to build to focus on 1 or both spots.

Oline attracted me as a first player because the stakes are low and I don't have to mix/max or follow a rigid build path. I can scope out the community and see how others do. A dline gets sacks, tackles, penetration, a lot going on there. Can also force fumbles. I would make one if I had the chance and double TPE or something but the only change I want ASAP is one guaranteed NSFL spot on each team, potentially fixed C or LT. I think that's more than fair. If any other position is weak you still have to draft a weak dude and you could have to deal with a weak spot on OL if you don't go get a strong one.

I watched the video of my sim games and couldn't make out the numbers but i'm pretty sure I was at LG and got blasted back when we gave up a safety. That was devastating. I also was a brick wall the rest of the time and got a couple pancakes, and that's all i'm really looking for on this dude. I wanna get my stats all the way up and watch my QB shine behind me without a care.
