I have a memory to share. During S7 when the Liberty beat the 13-1 Wraiths to make it to the Ultimus but were facing the Otters dynasty PDX suggested (in our presim window before the games were to be streamed later that day) that it would be better for the league if someone could defeat the Otters dynasty. Since YKW had the best record they would have home field in the Ultimus and stand a much better chance at beating OCO than Philly would on the road. He wanted us to pretend like that upset didn't happen and resim it for a YKW win so that for the betterment of the league there would be a new champion team to upset the second dynasty in a row.

Of course Dermot was having none of that and refused to even consider it for a moment. And honestly I'm not sure PDX would have truly thought it was the right thing to do had he considered it for more than a split second after the result as well. But I think it's important to note that his initial reaction after the "Holy shit we just won" wore off was more concerned about what outcome would be best for the enjoyment of the league than about how his team just made the Ultimus.

And as fate would have it, lightning struck twice and the underdog Liberty went on to end the Otters dynasty in the first road Ultimus win in league history. Well deserved my friend.

I have only been here a short time but he was the driving force behind Palm Beach's epic Ultimini win last season and a top guy as well, always so friendly, helpful and welcoming to new players in the game

To add onto this, PDX and I were Liberty GMs at the time, and we had completely forgotten to test for the Wraiths game. We went in with the strategy we had, and as soon as we realized I had figured I would never bring an Ultimus to the Liberty before I stepped down as a GM. That was the last season in our window, we were old, inactive and about to regress, and most of that season was PDX testing. I figured we were done, and I had no knowledge of the upset until it happened, I remember the reaction to it and watching it. Without PDX we probably don't win the Ultimus, it was his strategy that brought the miracle run about. PDX will always be one of my favorite dudes in sim leagues, he's done so much for the league and was a huge part of why the Liberty won, and a huge part of team as a whole since we got him in S3.

Amazing guy. Absolutely saddened to hear the news. I hope everything works out okay.

PDX was my first GM of any sim league I've been in. He was always kind enough to answer questions, make sure everyone was having fun, and just an all around great guy.

Hope you have a speedy recovery! Miss you man.

I haven’t been on the Hawks for long but PDX was immediately welcoming to me and I appreciated it. The LR won’t be the same til he comes back

I remember when PDX (somewhat controversially) traded himself to the Yeti. I had no real clue who he was other than that he was formerly the Liberty GM, but since then he became a mentor to me in the sim league and a wonderful person to have around in the LR, never mind a great friend to talk to.

I don’t want to make this long. Thanks for being so supportive and willing to do everything for your team and for this league. I hope things get better for you soon.

(Also thanks for the pizzas <3)

I don't believe I would've stayed active had it not been for the Prospect Bowl. Experiencing the Grizzlies team LR and getting to see games is what made me stick around so I'll always be grateful for that. Not only does PDX make this league more fun, but up until stepping down he was in charge of the only other sim league I signed up for, the WFL, and it already isn't the same without him.
