(S16) - Ultimus Week - flyeaglesfly29 - 08-05-2019 Ultimus Week Pass (S16) - Ultimus Week - Leafs4ever - 08-05-2019 Task 1: Playoff Predictions NSFC Championship: Philadelphia Liberty @ Chicago Butchers The NSFC Championship Game features a first time match up and one that I don't think anyone expected. The expansion Chicago Butchers are hosting the championship game against the Philadelphia Liberty. An expansion team in this game is crazy enough, let alone that team being the number 1 seed and hosting it. Expansion or not, Chicago has been dominate this season, especially on defense. Their defense is the reason they're here, leading the league in yards given up and second in points allowed. They have been a little vulnerable to the run, but hasn't really hurt them yet. On offense, they are run by their running back Sam Torenson. They leave some things to be desired in the passing game, but honestly the combination of a stifling defense and a clock killing run game has put Chicago were they are, hosting this game. On the other end, Philly is coming in after beating Yellowknife in the wild card game. The Liberty have been about average in every category, just humming along this season. Their passing has led them this year, but matching up against the best defense in that regard doesn't help them. They have been good against the run on defense which could help them in this match up, but I don't see a scenario where Philly escapes Chicago with a win. Butchers move on to the Ultimus Championship. Butchers win 24-10 ASFC Championship: Anaheim Outlaws @ Orange County Otters The ASFC Championship is once again being hosted by the Orange County Otters, but a new challenger has emerged. After defeating the SaberCats in the wild card round, the Arizona Outlaws now travel to Orange County. The Otters were once again great this season, both on defense and offense. They have one of the best passing games in the league with Showbiz, Valentine, and Sunnycursed. They only thing they really struggled with was the running game, on both sides of the ball. They didn't rush the ball well and they couldn't stop it either. That's where Arizona has to attack them. The problem is Arizona isn't really good at any one area, so I don't think they pose much of a threat to Orange County. They are like Philadelphia, average at every thing so nothing that should scare this Otters team. Otters win 27-3 (377 words) Task 5: Spotlight on Youth The Season 15 draft class was one of the biggest this league has seen. Even though it was just a year ago, we've already seen the impact from some of the players. One of those players just happens to play on the number 1 seeded Chicago Butchers. He is linebacker Guy Nikko. Of course, a young talent on the Butchers' defense is being spotlighted. Chicago's defense has been their calling card all season and Nikko has been fantastic, especially as a rookie. This season, Nikko put up 77 tackles, 6 sacks, 1 interception, and 15 pass deflections. He was a threat at every aspect of the defense at the linebacker spot. His ability to read the play at the line of scrimmage is rare in a rookie. As a dual threat against the run and the pass, opposing quarterbacks had to key on him in every set up, which really disrupts the offense. Going into the NSFC Championship Game, Nikko is once again going to be counted on to step up. He's going up against a great quarterback in Liberty's Adriana Falconi, but he's shown that he's ready for the spotlight. I expect Nikko is be all over the field. He's going to get out in coverage and bat some balls away and he's for sure going to attack the offensive line and get in the face of the quarterback. The future looks bright on defense for Chicago and Guy Nikko is a huge reason why. (246 words) Task 8: Strategies After getting eliminated in the wild card round, obviously our eyes went directly to next season in San Jose. There are changes that we can make that will get us to the promised land again. The biggest change we need to make is on offense. We need to throw the ball more. As the number 1 wide receiver on the team, I say that with no bias attached. As a team, we threw the ball the fourth fewest times in the league, but still finished top 4 in passing yards. Christ was also the most accurate quarterback in the league, completing 61.6% of his passes. We have an elite passer in Christ, a bonafide number 1 receiver in Flash, and an up and coming tight end in Cameron Olsen. There's no doubt that if given the chance, we could have the best passing attack in the league and blow teams out of the water. The other big change we need is help at cornerback. It's no secret that was the weakness on defense and teams exploited that all season. We were easily the best team against the run, but that could be attributed to teams throwing more against us because of our corners. We'll see natural improvement in our current corners because they're still young and developing, but I think we need to bring in a veteran corner to hold it down while the young guns continue to work on the skills of the position. Pass more and improve the cornerback position and I think San Jose makes it back to the promised land next season. (266 words) Task 10: Rivalries Let's talk about a team lucking their way to the ASFC Championship game, the Arizona Outlaws. I've never seen such a mediocre team in the playoffs and it's a shame that they will ruin the championship game by getting decimated by the Otters. Let's take a closer look. First off, nothing the Outlaws do on the field is anything better than average. On offense and defense, they range from 5-8 league wide in almost every category. Literally right down the middle or near the bottom half of the league. Outside of maybe Slim Shady, there is no player that brings anything special to the field. Orange County is going to have a field day with this team. Now, I know you'll say, well they beat your SaberCats in the wild card round, but let's look at that game shall we? In the wild card game, the Outlaws beat us 41-21. Pretty decisive right? Now, look at the underlying stats of the game. Total yards were 444 to 443, first downs 18 to 18, and third downs 5-16 for San Jose and 2-12 for Arizona. Time of possession was only an 8 second difference and turnovers were 1 to 0. Do you want to know where the biggest difference was between the two teams? Penalties. San Jose took 7 penalties for 63 yards while Arizona took 0. That's right, they played a perfectly clean game in a rough wild card game. Oh, they also out rushed us by 97 yards, but that just proves that they bring nothing to the table outside of Slim Shady. Everyone that's going to watch the ASFC championship game needs to be cheering for the Otters. The NSFL can't have such a below average team with no stars or any semblance of excitement represent in the Ultimus Game. Mediocrity should not be rewarded, and the Outlaws are the poster team for skating on mediocrity. (318 words) (S16) - Ultimus Week - TropicaliaCC - 08-05-2019 1) Ultimus Prediction This season’s Ultimus features two teams that few people thought would make it here. The Liberty barely snuck into the playoffs because the defending champion Baltimore Hawks lost their regular season finale to Orange County. This Liberty team has been stellar on offense this year but certainly leaves something to be desired defensively. On the other side of the spectrum, you have the Arizona Outlaws who have had a stout defense statistically, but were dead last in points and yards for the entire league. My score prediction for the Ultimus is Arizona 34 – Philly 21. My reasoning for this is based primarily off the performance of these teams over the first 2 playoff games. The Liberty won the way they have all season long, just outscoring the other side in a shootout. Meanwhile, Arizona cruised through their two games because the Defense stayed in form and that league worst offense form the regular season found their stride scoring 41 and 31 points. I think the game will be tight in the first half, but in the second half Arizona will have their way offensively and pull away to a comfortable victory. My prediction for Ultimus MVP is a surprising one. I think Raymond Vans will have another 3+ sack game and force at least one turnover to help seal the Championship. 15) Going to *Disneyworld*! After an incredibly thrilling Ultimus win, the MVP of the game, Jeffery Murphy, ran to the cameras and exclaimed, “Were going to Disneyworld!” The Arizona Outlaws chartered a private jet to Orlando that very night because everybody knows that Orlando is the swampy version of Las Vegas. Once you get outside of the theme park district Orlando turns into a lawless land where “Dreams really do come true”. The first stop that evening was at a gentlemen’s club called The Squeaky Mouse. The classy establishment did not allow cameras inside but I can tell you that Raymond Vans and Lucas Knight got their money’s worth. Another story that you didn’t here from me involved a certain starting Quarterback, a dancer, and half a dozen bananas. In the wee hours of the night after the club closed and forced the champions out, the next destination was Waffle House of course. According to the staff working, that was the first time they had ever run out of eggs and bacon. However, they couldn’t complain because they hit their weekly sales numbers in a matter of two hours. Indeed, what a night it was. The next day Arizona went to the parks and continued the bender. (S16) - Ultimus Week - Fordhammer - 08-05-2019 1) Playoff prediction I'm going to review the Ultimus game between the Philadelphia Liberty and the Arizona Outlaws. Both teams enter the championship game as relative underdogs in their respective conferences. Arizona finished the season 7-6, and was seen as a heavy underdog to the dominant Otters. With an incredible performance in the conference championship game, they completely dominated Orange County, outscoring them 31-3. Philadelphia on the other hand, also finished 7-6 during the season, and had to face the 10-3 Wraiths in the first round, and the 10-3 Butchers in the conference championship match. They handled both opponents in close games, and advanced to the Ultimus game. My prediction for the game is the Liberty win a close one, 24-20. The teams are evenly matched, but Arizona has the home field advantage. I predict Philadelphia will overcome this for a few reasons. First, their QB Adriana Falconi has had a huge season this year. The QB has been tearing defenses apart in both the regular season and the playoffs, and I don't expect it to stop there. Reese had a solid, if somewhat underwhelming season this year, and I think that can be the difference in this game. Vander Jones and Farley Hank have both had really nice years, and I think they can be a part of a balanced attack that beats the Outlaws in the Ultimus. 6) Our Time In this category, I want to talk about why the Liberty will win the Ultimus this year. Let's go over the defensive side of the ball for Philadelphia in this matchup. I think Reese is going to have a hard time moving the ball in the air against this Liberty defense. The Liberty secondary has played really well, especially considering the loss of some key players in the offseason. Emondov Emoji will line up against Brock Landers, and I think he's in for a tough day. Emoji has been a beast this year, leading the league in passes deflected, to go with three interceptions. He'll also have plenty of help over the top with Richard D'Attoria and Lennox Garnett anchoring the secondary as safeties. These two have combined to be one of the best safety groups in the league. Garnett is peaking, and D'Attoria has really started to make a name for himself. Landers and Irving had really nice seasons, but I think they'll have their hands full getting separation from this group. Landers possesses near top speed and endurance, but does not have the greatest hands right now. He'll need to haul in every catch to give his team the best chance to win. Reese has taken a slight step back this year during the season, but has really stepped up his performance in the playoffs, including the route of the Otters in the previous game. He's a wily vet who will give make the Liberty work hard for every stop in this game. PBE PT 7) Next Year The Philadelphia Liberty lost the Ultimus in a game vs. the Arizona Outlaws, sadly. The game came down to the last play, so I want to explain a little why I think Philly should be the favorite to be back and win the Ultimus next season. I'm going to primarily focus on the offseason acquisitions in this section. First off, is the outstanding running back Marquise Brown. He has been the best RB in the league for most of his career, and he'll be a really nice addition for the Liberty, who are already loaded at RB with Vander Jones and Farley Hank. Look for Brown to get a large share of carries, and for Vander and Hank to be more involved in the passing game going forward. Zapp Brannigan retired, so they'll need to spread his targets to other members of the offense, in order to make up for his lost production. Next, the Philadelphia Liberty acquire stud LB Gekyume Stokeley. He was taken by the Chicago Butchers in the expansion draft, and is one of the premier linebackers in the league. He decided to take his talents elsewhere after a decent season in Chicago that ended with them losing to the Liberty in the playoffs. Gekyume will fill in perfectly for a linebacker corps that has been anchored by an IA Rock Hardshaft for some time now. All in all, I expect these offensive and defensive additions to be enough to push the Liberty over the edge in next season's Ultimus. (S16) - Ultimus Week - jsteele14 - 08-05-2019 PBE PT for 1 Task 6) Our Time I feel that this one will probably be the easiest one for me with how relatively new I am to the league and not knowing much (or frankly anything at all) when it comes to this league. I was picked up by the San Antonio Marshalls and I belive that they should win the Ultimini just by the sheer fact how helpful and active I see that their locker room is. I know that I am still pretty unknown and haven't been too active in the locker room, but I do read what they post and there is a lot of helpful things there that has helped me gather my bearings. So with that, if that is how it is for all the rookies that go into this team, they should have a great team that is active and earning a lot of TPE because they don't let us forget that there is TPE available to be earned. This team is also very positive of themselves and that just asks for a winning formula if you ask me. So I know it is not a lot of things to look at when it comes to my side, but just with how helpful the people that are in charge of the team is, I am hoping that they help me become a better player than any other safeties in this league. And hopefully get the team an Ultimini! 7) Next year This one is a little tough for me as I do not know where I am going to be. Found out that I was a San Antonio Marshal for just this season and now I have to enter the draft to potentially be drafted to another DSFL team. Which is kind of wild, but also could get me a new experience. Anyway, i'm hoping to end up on the Marshals again so we can run it back and get an Ultimini! The team seemed to click well and the short time that I was on the team a lot of people were helpful and were really bummed that we couldn't win. Was also great to see them send me a goodbye since I was technically off the team, but who knows, I may be back on the team sooner than I thought! I feel like with how my player is being developed and I seemed to create at a perfect time, I could really help any defense on the DSFL side pretty early. With the new creates coming in right before the draft they aren't as developed as myself or a few other players. So with the team that takes me in the draft I know I can help them improve in defense and bring them that Ultimini that I know that everyone wants. 9) Enemies Now this may be a weak route for this, (no pun intended), but do we have to have enemies? I mean that is easy for me to say since I am so new to this league that I haven't even had the chance to get someone to be my enemy. While being in the DSFL I personally think it is hard to have an enemy since everyone is here working hard to make it to the NSFL. But, I will say this...I have no problem with anyone and wish all the best, but if you do start to come after me and say words about my life or my family, that is what will make me your enemy. And trust me, I will show you what I mean on the field. There should be no room for that I you don't want to see what a pissed off Pete Parker is going to be like. I just want to be cool with all of you and have a good time. Let us all come here and do what we are here to do and that is to play some football. Don't let your emotions, like anger, get in the way with that. We are representing our team when we go out on the field and at the end of the day, we all return back home.Just play some good ball and there won't be any problems to worry about. (S16) - Ultimus Week - TubbyTim69 - 08-05-2019 Playoff Predictions: First game Portland vs Kansas City- I believe this is going to be one of the Closest games this year in the playoffs. Portland was looking unstoppable and was on a collision course with Tijuana for this years Ultimini. That is, until Portland met Kansas City in Week 5. Portland was 4-0 going into week 5 welcoming the 1-3 Coyotes. Portland got out to a quick 19-3 lead and the game seemed to be over by halftime…. And that is when the Coyotes came out a new team. 17 unanswered points later and KCC have handed Portland their first lost of the season. Week 9 was the next encounter was nothing like the first. KCC thumped Portland 38-10. KCC took control and scored early and often in the week 9 Matchup. This would be the 5th win in a row for KCC as they toppled the best team in the Conference. Last week was the rubber match between the teams and like the 2nd game it wasn’t even close. This time it was Portland putting the boot to KCC. KCC would shoot themselves in the foot with multiple penalties and Portland like any good team would, took advantage and came out on top. I believe when the game is all said and done the Kansas City Coyotes will defeat the Portland Pythons 21-20 and advance to the Ultimi Finals. If the Coyotes Defence can fend off the early offensive attack by the Pythons and stay out of penalty troubles they can very well pull off the road win. HEAD TO HEAD MATCH UP: The 2 ultimini match ups are going to be interesting to say the least. However, it will be the match-ups inside the match-up that will be closely watched. First we have KCC vs Portland. Portland has the #1 receiver in Hugh Mongo but he isn’t the one people should keep an eye on. Saba Donut finished with 566 yards and 5 Td's . Mongo gets the defenses attention which opens up space for Saba. Saba will be locked up with KCC'S Dominick Schultz. Schultz finished the season with 35 tackles, 1 INT and 12 PD. These 2 locked horns the last 2 games they played each other. The week 9 match up saw Schultz hold Saba to 3 catches and 35 yards while Schultz had an INT as well as 3 PD. If Schultz can shut down Saba, McMorris and Brackenridge can watch Hugh and KCC could walk out of Portland with the W. Now in the second conference final game you have Tijuana vs San Antonio. Ashley Owen’s has been running through teams this season. 267 Carrie’s for 1328 Yards and 10 Touchdowns. Owen’s isnt the type of running back that breaks off huge runs. His longest run this year was 19 Yards, with that being said Owen’s is the master of grinding out big games. In order for Tijuana to slow him down Jason Carver is going to have to come out swinging. Carver finished the season with 76 tackles, 3 TFL, 3 sacks and 2 FF. Carver is going to be key to shut down the Marshall’s run game and if they do that then Tijuana will continue their dream season and will play for the Ultimini. OUR TIME: alright, now I’m going to explain to you guys why Portland or Tijuana are NOT going to win the Ultimini this season, And that is because of the Kansas City Coyotes. Yes, we struggled early on in the season. You look at it and 1-4 isnt the best start and really didn’t do us any favors. However, that is not the part of the season I am going to talk about. What I’m going to talk about was our 6 game win streak in which we beat Portland but once, but TWICE. Not team this season has beaten Portland twice. Hell we even did it in Portland down 19-3. Firs the Defence. The King of getting 2 tackles, Brayden Ennis. Ennis is great at plugging holes and taking on double teams. He gets ragged on for averaging 2 tackles but it’s the small stuff that he does right. It’s hard getting tackles when you’re constantly being doubled. Next is the underrated Secondary of the Coyotes, Julian McMorris, Dominick Schultz and Tyrone Brackenridge. McMorris made the switch from WR to CB, since doing so he has shown that he can go 1 on 1 with the best Recievers in the league. Brackenridge is the best safety in the league right now and can very well be the 1st overall pick in the upcoming draft, Brackenridge is not only great is the passing game but he also comes into the box and stops the run. Teams decided to try and pick on Schultz while staying away from McMorris burr damn Schultz makes them pay for it. He'll knock down half the passes thrown at him and receivers just cant get separation from him. When all 4 of these guys are shooting on all cylinders that is one tough Defence to stop. And that Defence along with A solid offence with Octavious Godspeed running the ball and dexter Banks out there catching this is the team to knock of Portland and then take down whoever’s they meet in the Championship Game. UnderDog- DSFL conference finals are interesting this year. One you have Portland and Kansas City which is very well a toss up. The second is the unstoppable force of Tijuana against the average San Antonio Marshall’s. Now, Tijuana should win right? Well don’t sleep on those Marshall’s. Tijuana won all games between the 2 sides however, looking at the scores of both games it wasn’t as lopsided as people would think. All games where within 1 score of each other. On the offensive side of the ball Jim McMahon has been very mediocre, but where they’re really strong is at Running Back. Ashley Owen’s and Deejay Dallas are the best running back duo in the DSFL and hell it could possibly the best including NSFL. Owen’s had 1328 Yards this season averaging close to 100 yards a game. Dallas on the other hand finished with 1278 yards rushing. 2 1000 yard rushers. This Marshals Offense goes through both of these players. Both guys are potential first round picks in the up coming draft and if the Marshals are planning on playing for a Ultimini then they have to get the ball to both these players early and Often. As for the Marshals Defence, they have got to come ready to play. Arguably one of the best safeties Takeda Okura will be primed in on Laszlo looking to stop any big plays that the number 1 receiver is known for. Along with Okura, the defensive line of Dallas Decker, Bubba Thumper and Garret will have to get in the backfield and disrupt the Pass. If they get pressure on the QB iit will make things easier for Okura And Willie Woodson to help shut down the ever so impressive Tijuana Passing attack. Shut the passing attack down and the Marshals will be playing for the Ultimini. (S16) - Ultimus Week - KillKillKill - 08-05-2019 Task 1: PBE PT Task 8: The only worry of a team that won the Ultimini this season, is how they continue to improve next season with the loss of players to the NSFL. Before the season started, the Luchadores were short on linebackers. So much so, that they converted tight end Honda Edmond to the much needed position. The Luchadores will need to ensure this position gets filled in the off season if they want to repeat as Ultimini champions. The team will need to focus on linebacker as well as running back and wide receiver. Being in the minor league, this team will inevitably be depleted, but smart drafting and identifying the players they will be losing to the draft will ensure this team can repeat. I am not sure myself which players will be returning and which will be moving on, so that makes it a bit difficult to forecast what the team will need. You can always take a quarterback, you can always take a good running back and receiver. On defense, you will need good corners, a good safety and at least one linebacker that can cover sideline to sideline. The rest can be guys that are adequate if you want to field a competitive team. Task 14: It is hard to pick a single moment in the Ultimini championship against the Pythons. It was a hard fought game from beginning to end, with the early edge being with the Luchadores. It was mostly a ground game between the two teams with both running back racking up early big gains. Defense was at a premium early as well, as both teams struggled to keep the opposing team's ground game in check. After halftime, it was all Luchadores as the defense finally found a way to slow down the Pythons ground attack. It was a crucial interception by Luchadores cornerback, Jordan Andrews, that provided the Luchadores with a much needed cushion against the always dangerous Pythons. From there, it was more of the same from Tijuana as they scored a couple of insurance touchdowns and a field goal to put the game out of reach for the opposing team. So if I had to choose a point of the game that shifted the momentum back to Tijuana, I would have to go with the late interception by the Luchadores when the Pythons were moving the ball down the field and gave them the much needed possession and opportunity to secure the victory and bring the Ultimini home to Tijuana, where it belongs. Task 18: ![]() (S16) - Ultimus Week - toivo - 08-05-2019 SHL PT (S16) - Ultimus Week - hihihi_62 - 08-05-2019 2) Underdog (225 Words) Out of the two DSFL playoff matchups happening in round one the Kansas City Coyotes have a better chance at upsetting in their series. The Coyotes and Pythons split their season series 2-2 this season and although the Pythons ended the regular season on a much higher note than the Coyotes resulting in home field advantage the Coyotes actually stole a game in Portland back in Week 5 clawing their way back from a multiple score deficit going into the 4th Quarter, so it's very possible they could do it again. If Jay Longshaw can out duel Franklin Armstrong at the QB position and get Dexter Banks the ball early and often I think the Coyotes can steal away some of the home field momentum and maybe even win this one. The Pythons defence has been lights out all season but the Coyotes managed to hang 38 points on the Pythons in Week 9 which was the most number of points given up by the Pythons Stranglehold all season long. For the Coyotes to win Longshaw needs to throw a clean game, and the Coyotes defence lead by Tyron Brackenridge and Brayden Ennis needs to find a way to shut down the dominant Pythons run game. If the Coyotes can come up with a gameplan to pull that off they could actually win this one. 3) All about the QBs (212 Words) The QB matchup I'm most excited to see in the DSFL playoffs is Franklin Armstrong vs Jay Longshaw in the round one matchup between Portland and KC. These two Division rivals have been going toe to toe all season long the winning team of each game this series came as the result of the winning QB making smart decisions and not turning the ball over. Armstrong led a fiery Pythons offence that lead the DSFL in passing yards per game. Armstrong is by far the highest TPE earning QB in the DSFL and is surrounded by weapons including Hugo Mongo, Action Jackson and SabaDonutMan. Jay Longshaw on the other side is a ways behind Armstrong in terms of TPE but benefits greatly from the performance of max earner and explosive target Dexter Banks. Armstrong has struggled at times this season but I expect to see a huge performance out of him in this round one series and wouldn't be surprised to see him put up 300+ in this matchup. Banks will be hard to contain for the Pythons but I expect the Stranglehold to lock him down much like did in week 14 and Armstrong will be play of the game on the other side in a back and forth explosive affair. 4) Head to Head Matchups (236 Words) I've been focusing all of my answers on the much anticipated Coyotes vs Pythons matchup and this answer is no different. The matchup I'm most looking forward to is Mervin Leonard vs Dexter Banks (Yes, I may be a bit biased here..). I have faced off with Banks 4 times this season and he has been my favourite matchup on and off of the field all season. Banks' speed proved to be an issue early in the season for Leonard as we saw in Week 1 as Banks got off to a hot start 88 yards on 5 catches but was kept out of the endzone. In the week 5 matchup Banks was shutdown the majority of the game until the final minute of the game when Banks beat Leonard on a quick slant from the 1 yard line to score the game winning TD. In week 9 Banks once again had a big game racking up 93 yards and a TD en route to the Pythons worst loss of the season. Leonard managed to completely skunk Banks in the final regular season matchup between these two in week 14 as Banks was held to 1 catch for 13 yards in a Coyotes loss. I expect this matchup to be heated heading into this round one playoff game and expect this matchup to be a pivotal battle to determine who will be heading to the Ultimini. 6) Our Time (211 words) This year is our year, The Portland Pythons will be Ultimini Champions. The Pythons are coming into the playoffs arguably the hottest team in the DSFL finishing first in the NFC with an 11-3 record while putting up some pretty damn impressive numbers leading the league in Points per game, points allowed per game, most total yards offensively, while allowing the fewest yards per game among other impressive feats. On offence the team features the top QB in the , the top WR in the DSFL, the top RB in the DSFL. Meanwhile over on the defensive side of the ball the team features the much feared Portland Stranglehold lead by Rookie CB's Mervin Leonard and Koda Adok. The Tijuana Luchadores are favoured by a lot of analysts as the favourites to win it all heading into this years playoffs but are coming into the playoffs after suffering a humiliating loss to Norfolk. Tijuana's only other loss of the season came in week 6 to Portland and the teams only other matchup of the season was a hotly contest 26-20 Tijuana win. I think the entire Python lineup is getting hot just at the right time lead by Franklin Armstrong and think people should be seriously considering this squad as Ultimini favourites. THE BELOW TWO ARE POSTED SO THAT RAIDERNATION AKA JORDAN ANDREWS GETS CREDIT: 1. The DSFL Ultimi Championship has been set. You and the Portland Pythons will be squaring up with the Tijuana Luchadores for the third time this season. Both teams split their season matchups, what do you feel is the key on offense and defense for either team to come out as victors? "Both games between us and the Luchadores this season were a slugfest and came down to the wire with less than 7 points being the deciding factor in both. I expect much of the same in the Ultimini. In a game full of superstars in the passing game such as Franklin Thompson, Jordan Andrews and Hugo Mongo I actually expect this one to be decided by who can control the line of scrimmage and hold the opposing teams rushing attack in check. Neither QB put up very good numbers in the head to head matchups between these two this season but both teams managed to put up very impressive rushing stats and in the Pythons win against the Luchadores early in the year the deciding factor was the Python rush attack that put up 80 more yards than the Luchadores. Whoever puts up more yards on the ground is going to win this one" 2. The football camp you and fellow DSFL cornerback Jordan Andrews Co-Hosted in the beginning of the season had a great turnout. Any plans from the two of you in keeping it going next season? "I'm really glad you asked about that! Me and Jordan are both warriors on the field but we also both love giving back to the community off the field. Like you mentioned that camp we hosted was a huge success and we've actually been in discussions to expand the camp next year. I can't give to many details out yet but stay tuned for some really exciting news soon!" 3. Who is your favorite to win the NSFL Ultimus? "I think that Jordan and I can both agree on this one... This season's champion will 100% be the Portland Pythons!! All joking aside both teams played great all season and this game will really be a showcase of the best that the DSFL has to offer. I legitimately believe this one is going to be decided by less than 7 points and wouldn't be surprised to see someone make a big play in the final minutes that decides this one. I predict Pythons by 3." 4. Any off-season plans yet? "This is a big offseason for me. I'm coming off a big season for the Pythons and am really focused and looking forward to my future in the NSFL. You'll be able to find me in the gym and on the practice field all offseason getting better every day!" 13) 1) Every player in the DSFL gets to pick their own Jersey number, tell me why you picked the number 21. Oh man, that numbers been part of my playing days from as far back as I can remember. I think it stuck mainly cause my father would teach me a ton about life because of my mom's situation. There was this one time the three of us, my dad my brother Derrick and myself was having a deep conversation on life and the age 21 came up. I just got the concept that even though we are considered adults at age 18, we really don't start living life until we are 21 and I've set countless goals for myself to accomplish by the time I was 21. I can't complain as of yet. 2) You had a great rookie season in the DSFL and I'm sure you're excited to play in the upcoming Ultimini. Outside of having the opportunity to win it all this season what has been your most memorable moment this season and why? I don't think any one moment sticks out more than another in my first full season. It's just a blessing to have had a dream as a child and proceeded to connect to blocks on my way to completing my dream. With the right training and putting the right products in my body, I'm preparing myself to play for many years to come. As of now, I'm just glad I stay healthy all season and did my part for the Luchadores to get the opportunity to play for another 'ship. 3) Lots of players have game day routines or superstitions, do you have any and if so what are they? To be completely honest, between all the position meetings and walk throughs on game day, I usually throw on my Beats by Dre and get myself mentally ready. There's plenty of coaches, staff, teammates, family and friends that have suggestions on what to look out for in game, all we can do is retain as much of it as possible and focus on what you know you need to do to be successful that game. 4) Saving the best for last. Your Luchadores will be facing off with Pythons tomorrow night for the Ultimini. Who's going to win the game and what are will be each teams key to success? Tijuana has been the hottest team all season in the DSFL and not to mention one of the most successful organizations. I have no doubt in my fellow teammates that we can't take care of business tomorrow night. I believe the key for us to win is our ground game has it's been our bread and butter all season. Ducky Donut and C. Osbourn will lead the charge accompanied by stellar QB play by Jordan McCann. (S16) - Ultimus Week - RobCubed - 08-05-2019 3) All about the QBs - Falconi vs. Reese, overall Playoff stats ![]() It wasn't easy to find a female football player picture that I could edit into this, so I said screw it and just got a picture of Emanuela Postacchini and put a football in her hand. ![]() 12) Sit-down with a star - Morgan Marshall, FB for the Yellowknife Wraiths - 2030 Pro Bowler Quote:Question: You've had considerably less rushes per game this past season, but your receiving yards have more than tripled, and your all-purpose yards have actually gone up by about 30. Was this part of a new planned offensive scheme, or was it your effort to show yourself as more of an all-purpose back? 13) Sit-down with a fan: Interviewed by Net Gaines http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=208854 20) Let’s get Wild!(card) - Yellowknife is robbed... by their own coaching staff? Quote:The Yellowknife Wraiths. A favorite to win the wild card against the 7 and 6 Philly Liberty. There are just over three minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter. The Wraiths are down by four points, so a field goal won't do it. A short pass by Bigsby to Helanen just brought them to 4th and 1 at the 17 yard line. Quote:THIS SECTION IS NOT FOR MY CREDIT, JUST HELPING ANOTHER ROOKIE OUT! 12) Second Interview - Net Gaines: Quote:Question: So we're going to start with an obvious question here, and one I'm sure you've heard a lot... but are you concerned about your checkered past when it comes to a league that has seriously cracked down on any illicit substances? Do you think this will impact your draft score? |
