Week 1 Decision - Raven - 08-29-2019
You can't please everyone with a decision like this. In the end it's the one that benefits my player the most and there for is the best decision.
Kidding aside, I think this is a good learning moment that we need preseason to get a gamefile which people can look over and make sure their player is correctly put into the sim. While a resim can be made quickly after posting results, I don't think you can't suddenly resim games a day after it's been simmed.
For me voiding the start of this season entirely would have maybe been the more prefered decision at this point.
Cheers HO for having to deal with tough situation like this, you`ll work hard.

Some points:
When HO completes its exhaustive audit, the results should be published and every single error should be included in detail (including those already fixed). Transparency is key in a situation like this, where not having access to the information caused tremendous issues and people remain unsure of exactly the size and scope of what errors were made. I can't think of a single honest reason why anyone would want to keep this information hidden after all of this.
As suggested by BigRed, GMs should be given read access to the player file. As the last few days have shown, quite a bit of the league is of the opinion that it's part of the GMs' responsibility to check these things that we literally cannot access. Let's turn this spirited "its your own fault" finger pointing into a useful reality.
I still maintain that there ought to be some sort of position that oversees that go between. An ongoing audit. Scrimping on oversight is not an issue that needs repeating.
Austin has requested a new updater.
Much appreciation to all the GMs who brainstormed all of the ideas that are being utilized on what we could do going forward to make sure this never happens again.

While I am disappointed that the scores are being reverted instead of fair games being played all around for every team, I understand the decision. Thank you for developing measures so something like this does not occur in the future.

Obviously, I'm happy with the decision that was made, but I'm sorry to anyone that was affected by this. I'd like to thank HO for listening to the community and making a decision that hopefully works out for the best of everyone in the future. I realize it wasn't an easy decision to make. I'd also like to apologize to anyone that I might have freaked out on or annoyed during this situation. For that, I am sorry. I felt like it was the best idea to display how upset I was at the situation to bring attention to the problems at hand, and in the end, I don't know it that was the right decision for me to make.

A specific sorry to Austin for, you know, playing with 200+ TPE missing woulda been nice. Maybe that comes in the audit results though.
I am glad to hear resims will be minimized. But let’s not get carried away... if a team has 200+ less TPE in a playoff game you sure as fuck better redo it. Playoffs =/= week 1 when it comes to importance, and that’s just kinda how it is. Hopefully HO’s measures take care of that from ever being a problem

It’s incredibly disappointing to see HO reverse the correct decision based on people crying about their stats.
Giving in to people whining when you’re doing what is right is a bit weak.
We got an unfair shake here, and now we’re forced to take an L we didn’t deserve. (As evidenced by our 28-24 win when we had the correct amounts of TPE in the sim).
While I doubt this one game will affect the playoffs for us (oh man if it does though somehow), it’s disheartening to know that a bunch of selfish people worried about thier stats had us change from doing what is fair and right.
My team will rebound from this, but what a way to get your franchise’s first ever win taken away from you. It’s a shame.
Congrats on giving in, I guess.
At least we’re taking measures to prevent this from happening again. Hopefully.

Your 28-24 win came when neither your team nor my team had the correct amount of TPE in the sim, so it's just as valid as the first one was.

But this was the decision that was made so it is what it is. Congrats on the win.

Clearly we need a third proper game then.
That’s the whole point behind why I said we should restart the season with everyone being correct.
But heaven forbid we have a fair season. Somehow doing things the right way gets overshadowed by “OMG MY FORCED FUMBLES THOUGH” and “MY YARDS OMG WTF”.
That’s backwards.
