Hmm...well....at first thought, virtually every award in the DSFL is also a rookie award. In terms of NSFL, not all of our classes are really big enough to where we can really go beyond offensive/defensive roty.
Best Position Change would be interesting. Not really sure how that would function per se. Also presumably people who changed before their first rookie game wouldn't be eligible if I understand the intent.

I feel like this could stay an issue even with an awards committee, but besidea this part l, I agree that an awards committee would be good to have. Just to release some weight off HO/GMs shoulders. I hope we have members who would like to fill in this role.

Full agree with point two. I'm not sure why we kept the acronym at the time with it being brought up back when we started up the league. Us vets have long already gotten used to it, but it'd help a ton with getting new people in and with advertising if it wasn't such a bad acronym.

As a former member of HO and also a former longtime department head, you'd be exactly the kind of person I'd want to look at for an award committee
and also to shamelessly add weight to my arguments by pointing out your importance to the league

Aw shucks your making me blush. I always had trouble with award voting, I think there'd be more stat savvy members out there with a keener eye on important stats.

I agree with the Awards committee as well. Just had a conversation in the Portland LR yesterday. In the DSFL the guy that led the league in TD's at WR had 9...the next best had 6...and had the same Y/R as the WRotY. There was another guy with near identical stats as the WRotY - 1 less catch, about 10 less yards, same Y/R and same TDs. Neither one was even nominated. I'm not saying either of them would have won - SJJ was a deserving candidate as well - but for the others to not even get a nomination sucks.
I'd feel great about awards committee or an awards summit - from conversations I had, it seems there is zero discussion about the awards and people just put in their vote (sometimes) and call it a day. I truly believe there should be a short discussion on the candidates, at the very least a presentation of their stats side by side, before voting. It would benefit HO & GM's by taking something off their plate, and I believe people would feel better about the outcomes.
Also, yeah NSFL is a terrible acronym lol. ASF, SFA, SNFL, ISFL, NASFL...all options off the top of my head.
