S20 NSFL Rule Summit Results - Rising Equinox - 01-15-2020
Thank you to all the GM's and HO members! An awards committee has been a long awaited idea, and I honestly can't believe it has finally been voted into effect. I like the idea so that the same people are still voting on the awards just with less stress and time commitment put on them, hopefully eliminating the problems the awards have had in the past. I'm also really happy about the new positional rules. As a Speed Rusher LB, I've had some mixed emotions about this. It makes sense that safeties can play LB, but it completely ruins the fun and balance of the system. Several seasons now, Lanzer has put up pretty good stats, a lot of sacks and PD's, but every time, he has been completely outshined by SLB's that aren't even LB's. This change was much needed, and it will definitely bring much more balance and equality to the defensive side of the league. So again, thank you!

I think Horne got nudged out of a potential award due to SS playing LB.

Good changes. Especially #1. Surprising it wasn't a rule before.
It does suck to see Safety get handicapped in versatility. It's the reason both my creates have been safeties.

A safety can still play effectively at 5 spots on the defense, I'd hardly call that a handicap. Being able to play well at OVER half of the available positions on defense was too versatile. It hurts other positions.
