(S20) - Ultimus Week - MN_Moosey - 02-17-2020 6) Expansion ![]() 4) Rivalry ![]() 11) Playoffs MVP Prince Vegeta (formerly Jeffrey LaVert) is Myrtle Beach's playoff MVP. In the conference championship game against the Norfolk Seawolves, Vegeta started the game off right with an interception in the first minute of the game. This set the tone for the entire game. That interception unfortunately only turned into a field goal, but it gave the Buccaneers the momentum for the entire game. The defense has been masterful this season and Vegeta has led the charge. But that interception wasn't the only thing Vegeta did that game. He also had 11 tackles against the Seawolves along with a pass deflection. The defense held Norfolk to only 10 points and gave the offense plenty of opportunity to succeed. While the whole defense was exceptional, Vegeta stood out and shined the brightest in such a big moment. Myrtle Beach heads to Minnesota for the Ultimini championship game. Keep an eye on the Buccaneers defense though. The team has produced and MVP caliber defensive player before, and they might just do it again. The game will be hard fought and will surely be a sight to behold. Both teams are poised to take the title, but Myrtle Beach might have the advantage here with the defense lead by soon to be playoff MVP, Prince Vegeta. 3) Revenge Oh boy revenge. How sweet it will taste. The Myrtle Beach Buccaneers are looking to take revenge on the Minnesota Grey Ducks. After rolling through the end of the season with a win streak of 9, the Buccaneers went into the conference championship game fired up and with the momentum. They took out the Norfolk Seawolves with ease and set their sights on the big game. The mighty championship that is the Ultimini. It would not be an easy task as they would be facing the defending champions without the lovely home field advantage on their side. The game was made out to be one of the best but in reality it was a complete sham. The Grey Ducks absolutely stomped the Buccaneers 28-3. Such disparity was not unusual in the tests the team made but the way it happened was what got under our skins. The Buccaneers had a whopping 156 penalty yards. It was heartbreak central in the locker room. We thought that the game would come down to the wire and not be such a blowout. The team was upset by the result but now will use that emotion and fury to go after those blasted monochromatic water foul. This will not be the end of this rivalry. In fact, you could say that it is only the beginning. (S20) - Ultimus Week - Colabear - 02-17-2020 6. ![]() ![]() 8. Souting Report Johnny Hellzapoppin is an enticing prospect out of Notre Dame. A safety with slot coverage ability, he's versatile and not afraid to put his body on the line. He set records at the collegiate level for interceptions and if he can adjust to the pace of the DSFL and in turn the NSFL he will be a guy Quarterbacks don't want to see reading them. He has elite instincts but they're paired with a good football IQ, his position coaches spoke very highly of him and those character qualities will help him continue to develop and learn. In terms of his weaknesses, he'll obviously need to continue to develop physically and technically to match the stars of the NSFL. His sophmore year injury may be a concern for some general managers even though he bounced back well the following year. He was used as a surprise blitzer in the Irish defensive scheme but needs to keep a cool head when he gets into the backfield and focus on bringing down the Quarterback. Aside from his abilities as a safety he also brings good ability on special teams where he was an extremely effective gunner on punts and charged down a field goal from the edge on one occasion. 19. ![]() 20. ![]() (S20) - Ultimus Week - RainDelay - 02-17-2020 SHL PT https://simulationhockey.com/showthread.php...9203#pid2779203 1) Playoff Review The first playoff game for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers was the conference championship against the Norfolk Seawolves. It's hard to call this a contest, let alone much of a "game". The Bucs really showed that they were the captains of the ship, asserting their dominance in a 43-10 beatdown. The offense took a while to really get out of the gate, but they did have four drives take them close only to fall just short. John Smirh had to hit four field goals before the Bucs even crossed the goal line. But once they did, the gates were opened. Jacoby Batista and Siddhu Sarvepally had nice TD runs, Batista actually had two. Gotta love that from a waiver pickup. Chris Ramos played well also, as he protected the football and tossed a touchdown en route to 218 yards. Have I even mentioned the defense? Do I even have to? This defense has been the best all year, and they continued more of the same in this one. Prince Vegeta had a big interception, and Bobby Boucher, Larry Longshot, and Rotticus Scott had a sack apiece. Wow. I'm not much for wagering on these sorts of things, but this was a great game for Myrtle Beach, and if they bring the fire like this again in the Ultimus, then they might handle Minnesota and get the job done. 6) Expansion If I had an expansion team in the DSFL, I would want to pick a market that is unique. Nothing that an NFL team is located in already. And I'll try to go to a unique state as well, somewhere less travelled. How about... Dallas? That's perfect. Maybe we could even be "America's Team". You like that? I just came up with it myself. Now I just need a name. I like animal names. I'm stuck between something in the bird family and something rather canine. That's it! Bird Dogs it is. The Dallas Bird Dogs. What? Why's everyone looking at me like that? I'm serious. No, no, I didn't just come up with this now, I made sure to exhaust all my other options first. In this deliberate process, I mulled over several names. The finalists, aside from the winner Bird Dogs, were as follows: Portland Sea Dogs, Dallas Cat Dogs, Dallas Bird Box, Dallas Cat Fish, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Dallas Birdboys, Carolina Mudcats and the South Carolina Damiere Byrds. Yeah, I agree. I think I settled on the best one. Your 7th DSFL franchise, everybody: the Dallas Bird Dogs. We have mutant animals and of course, our highest selling point, an open locker room. Oh, too soon? 9) Brotherly Love Well, I have to start off by saying that I like this task a lot. It's nice to focus on the positive aspect of having a bunch of different teams full of different people, rather than strictly on rivalry. The fact of the matter is, while we talk shit to each other, and have beef with other teams, at the end of the day most of us like each other. We are all people just enjoying some simulation football. So even though I "hate Norfolk" and stuff, there are plenty of people on that team that I like. For example, I think Pete Miller is great. BRONXBOMBERS has been fun to talk to in the alumni part of our locker room, and he's definitely nice to have around. Juniped Catfish seems awesome, and while we haven't interacted that much, maybe that could change after the draft. James Lewandowski and Remon Kurisuto seem nice too, and I would hate to generalize Norfolk when they have people like this on the team. Everyone also needs to stop hating on Boomcheck too. He wrote a controversial article, but there is freedom of media involved and he did a nice job with it. Cut him some slack. Lets all be friends, guys and girls! (S20) - Ultimus Week - Ismael8907 - 02-17-2020 10) Reform Written: If you were in charge of managing the league, what changes would you make to make it better run? To start of with, If i wanted to make the league better my first move would be to change the sim game. My plan would be to buy a cheap madden game that we could edit our teams and stream our games on twitch. why would i do this? Well the current sim is pretty boring IMO but if i switched up the sim we would get more people joining and more people wanting to join a team so they could see their players play on the field. Also i would like to find people to commentate those games so people would be more entertained and like watching the games. Also i want to keep this league free so more people will have fun and people will start joining us more and they wont have to worry about giving out there hard worked money and i find making people pay money just to watch there person play is bs. Also another idea is that i would try to make more teams on dsfl and nsfl so the new people joining will have a higher chance of finding a team and start actually playing and start getting there tpe. And that some of my ideas if i were the owner of this league. 3) Revenge Written: Write 200 words about a team you’d like to get revenge on next season and why. Did they knock you out of the playoffs? Blow you out? I play for the Coyotes and the team I would love to get revenge on is the Minnesota Grey ducks. In week 13 they blew us out! I wasn't expecting a blow out and neither was my team expecting a blowout. I already knew that my team would lose since we had some struggles but hopefully we can get our stuff together and get them next season. I'm still a rookie and I'm planning to work hard and get as much tpe to show them who we really are. Sadly i'm just a DE and i can really help out the team that much soi hope my team can put the dedication i want to out in and try to get better next year. I'm really excited to get in next year and vs them again and see what we could do against them out in the field. Surprisingly we did better than i thought we would. I want revenge on the grey ducks and get them back for blowing us out badly on the second to last week. Luckily the coyotes came out strong on week 14 and show them were ready for next season and were prepared for anything in out way. GG grey ducks but we will get you back! 8) Scouting Report Otis Allen Seems like a really good DT in my sights. He is weighing at 310 lbs but his pass rushing is still amazing. Looking at one of his films he gets passed the o lineman like nothing. It doesnt seem like anything can block him and he can get pressure on the QB easily. He also can read running plays well. He has amazing awareness and can read were a RB is going to go. He already looks like a great DT for any team. Also Allen is super fast considering his weight. He chases down a running back like a linebacker trying to tackle him. His speed is just like a linebackers and chases down running backs or quarterbacks with ease. Try getting past this guy. I'm glad that i don't play offense. Any team would love to have a Defensive tackle like him. As i see it he would be an amazing Run stopper and any team that drafts him would seem happy with him. Hopefully when I enter the draft one day I could play as his teammate since I play Defensive end. I'm excited to see who drafts who and see amazing players go to the dsfl. 6) Expansion Since I've joined the server I've been seeing at least 5+ people join each day. That means the league will become more competitive and more people would be fighting for a spot on a team. If I was in charge of a dsfl team my first plan would be to find team needs (of course). So if i want to find the best players for the dsfl and future draft prospect i will try to find the most active rookies and most dedicated rookies. The reason I would try to find more active players is that the more active they are in chat the more willing they would get tpe. And if I get players that are willing to get more tpe the better the team will become in the future which means more playoff wins which also means the more people will get drafted and the team will become a more popular destination for rookies to go. It would be a hard job managing a team with rookies joining everyday and having to figure out who would be a key figure out in the field. So thats what i would do if i was a manager of a dsfl team. And that my ultimus week! (S20) - Ultimus Week - Drizzy - 02-17-2020 3) Revenge Written: Write 200 words about a team you’d like to get revenge on next season and why. Did they knock you out of the playoffs? Blow you out? I'd really like for the Arizona Outlaws to claim our revenge on the Orange County Otters and the New Orleans Second line. These teams both entered the playoffs this season with a record of 7-6, and while there's nothing wrong with that in itself, it meant that another team with the same record didn't make it into the playoffs due to the sim's rules around tiebreakers. That team just so happened to be the Arizona Outlaws, and as we sit on the outside looking in during this postseason, thoughts inevitably start to go forward and look at the possibility of us getting revenge and forcing our way into the playoffs next season. In the ASFC currently there's a bit of a logjam in the middle. With the Austin Copperheads looking poised to establish themselves as the pride of the conference for the next couple seasons, there's something of a dogfight going on between the Otters, the Outlaws and the Second Line to follow them into the playoffs. While we fell short this year, I'm confident our young team led by a future Hall of Famer in Jay Cue has what it takes to come back strong next season and make a statement. 202 words 6) Expansion Written: There have been a lot of new players entering the league recently. If you were in charge of a new expansion team for the NSFL or DSFL, how would you go about it? If I were to get an expansion GM job in the NSFL, there's a few things that would need to be established straight away. I think the main focus first of all would be nailing the team location and the brand. It's very important for the initial reaction to the team to be positive, and to that there'd need to be a lot of effort placed into making sure it is recognisable and attractive. Then, the focus would be on installing an experienced co-GM to help me run the ship. Someone who has a proven track record of success in management in either the NSFL or DSFL would be required, and together we'd be able to bounce ideas off each other and help make the initial moves required for long term team success. Then, the focus goes onto getting quality players. In my first draft as GM I'd be looking to select the kind of player who can become the face of the franchise - easier said than done, but I think it's important for a team to find its identity early on and set a strong foundation for it to build off. Hopefully from there, we'd go into with a chance at giving a strong first impression in the team's inaugural season in the league, and go onto long term success. 221 words 8) Scouting Report Written: Write a scouting report for one of the incoming draftees in either the NSFL or DSFL. I'm going to talk to you today about Leon McDavid; Myrtle Beach Buccaneer and impending draftee into the NSFL. Although very early in his career, McDavid has the makings of a complete tight end at the professional level already. He's a talented athlete, possessing good natural speed and a safe pair of hands, paired with considerable strength that he can apply when it comes to both making catches and blocks. Comfortable running short outlet routes and making bigger plays downfield, it looks as if he'll make for a useful receiver for any team that decides to draft him. Although he has shown some natural ability when it comes to blocking, this would probably be the area of his game that needs to be developed the most. On a couple of plays earlier in the season he missed his block and allowed defenders a clear shot at his running back in the backfield, and additionally, there's been occasions where big plays downfield haven't been able to break because McDavid's not been there to make the stop. It's likely this that saw him line up at wide receiver for the majority of the season, making use of his height, speed and strength out wide while he develops his block game. On the whole though, McDavid is a very exciting prospect and someone who we should all be keeping an eye on ahead of the draft. 233 words 9) Brotherly Love Written: We always talk about what teams and players are our rivals. This season, give me what team or player you have a soft spot for. I have a soft spot for the Orange County Otters. This may not be the most popular opinion given my position on a conference rival of theirs, but, there's a number of reasons why I just can't hate them as some do. The first reason is I love a winning team. The Otters are the Patriots of the NSFL, winning 8 of the league's 20 Ultimus trophies, a quite outstanding statistic. They've found the formula to success with various incarnations of their team, and to try and deny their standard of excellence in that regard would be unreasonable. Beyond that, the quality of members they have on their team is seriously impressive. They've got some great guys (Kacey Dream chief among them) on the roster, and with the possible first overall selection of Prince Vegeta, the member quality on their team is an undeniable strength. Lastly, I love the branding of the team. I think the orange colour scheme is a powerful look, the logo they use looks great, and the Orange County location for a team is really cool in my mind. All in all, they're a team that I've thought is pretty cool throughout my time here - with the quality of members on their team I don't see that changing any time soon. 215 words (S20) - Ultimus Week - Troen - 02-17-2020 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: Written: Give a short write up of one or multiple playoff matches. If completed before the airing of the sims, give your predictions; if it is afterwards, give a review of the game. Troen Egghands Wrote:I grew up a big fan of Ryan Flock - he inspired me to start playing at safety when I first got in to football. After he retired I kept following the Outlaws and so seeing them lose last week to the Copperheads really was a blow. I play defense but I know enough that going 2 for 14 on 3rd down isn't going to win you many games. 2) League Milestone Written: This year is the 20th playoff season of the NSFL. In your opinion, what was the most thrilling playoff game of these past years? Give a review of that game and why you consider it to be great. Troen Egghands Wrote:I'm nartually biased towards the Outlaws, but I don't think anyone can argue that Ultimus Bowl XVI wasn't one of the best. To breifly recap, the game's first half didn't look especially close with the Outlaws having 14 point leads at 2 different points in time. That quickly changed as Liberty scored 17 of the next 20 points to take a narrow 30-27 lead halfway through the fourth. Between the passing of Andrew Reese and some good rushes by Slim Shady along with the unforgettable facemask call on Thomas led to the Outlaws managing to take the lead right after the 2 minute warning. Liberty, playing well in the second half and with 2 timeouts left, looked to have a good chance to take the lead back leaving the Outlaws with little or no time to tie. However, a fumble on the first play and some poor situational awareness by Zapp Brannigan getting tackled in bounds burned Liberty's remaining timeouts. With no way to stop the clock, a long pass to Vander Jones wasn't enough as time expired. 4) Rivalry Written: Which team or player would you consider to be your greatest rival? Write 200 words on why you are rivals with them and why you want them to lose (don’t harass other users please). Troen Egghands Wrote:I've always considered Leland Breeland to be a rival to me. We played against each other in his Sophomore year and leading up to the game he made some remarks to the media about how Boston University had the best defense and how the western divisions just weren't competitive compared to the east. And looking back now, he was right - our defense was the best in our conference and I had a lot of confidence in it but the east was better that year. Anyway, our defense had an OK game that day but our offense was just completely shut down and that gave me a lot of motivation over the years - wanting, needing to play better, to know that next time we play he won't be able to dismiss my team like that. I'm hoping we're not drafted by the same team so that we can compete and I can show him how influential of a player I can be. I want to be good enough that any defense I'm on is a contender no matter what. 6) Expansion Written: There have been a lot of new players entering the league recently. If you were in charge of a new expansion team for the NSFL or DSFL, how would you go about it? Troen Egghands Wrote:Now as a defensive player, you might be thinking that I'm naturally inclined to build a new team around the defense. Not true! Rather than drawing on my defense background I think it makes more sense to look at my education in economics. (S20) - Ultimus Week - gucci - 02-17-2020 4) Rivalry Written: Which team or player would you consider to be your greatest rival? Write 200 words on why you are rivals with them and why you want them to lose (don’t harass other users please). Graphic: Show the comparison between you and your rival team/player. My biggest rival team is the Myrtle Beach Bucs. This mostly comes down to their sheer arrogance, coupled with the fact that they haven't actually done anything to earn that arrogance. Nothing gets me more fired up to play than a bunch of cocky runners-up. When I'm in the gym, I'm working my hardest every day to win. I don't stop until I've reached that goal. Definitely don't stop to praise myself. Nobody will deny that Myrtle Beach has become a formidable team, but they won't have my respect until they earn it. Until I see them hoist a trophy and go on to successful NSFL careers, I won't believe in them. Right now I see a sorry bunch of players celebrating on their way to the endzone, and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up like Champ Bailey getting laid out and fumbling before the goal line. I want to be clear, I don't hate Myrtle Beach or any specific player, but collectively, I think their mindset needs work. The only way that will happen is if they learn their lesson the hard way. That is why I consider them rivals and that is why it's a goal of mine to teach them that lesson. 6) Expansion Written: There have been a lot of new players entering the league recently. If you were in charge of a new expansion team for the NSFL or DSFL, how would you go about it? Graphics: Create a design for your new team. I think it's time for the league to get a little aggressive with expansion. I believe that DSFL expansion is a given this year. The past two classes will likely require the NSFL to expand next year as well. This will take us to a total of 12 NSFL teams and ideally 10 DSFL teams. Now you may be thinking why 4 new DSFL teams? Well right now we have an influx of players that will fill our current rosters as well as 4 new teams even if only half of the class makes it through the season as active players. Now in our history, many players make it through most of the first season as actives. This means that we have tons of players in the 100-200 TPE range that will not be able to contribute at the NSFL level who will be stuck in the DSFL as inactive corpses, and we need the DSFL league size to support that number. I will be applying to lead the charge with a new DSFL team. As for the DSFL team idea I have in mind, after pouring through many terrible ideas, I finally believe I have the one. The Victoria Baysiders located in Victoria, British Columbia will feature a logo of a Labrador retriever (the British Columbian city's most populous dog breed) and use the colors gold and royal blue. Victoria itself is a beautiful city on the south shore of Vancouver Island just north of the US/Canadian Border. Perfect for a DSFL team in the Northern Division. 9) Brotherly Love Written: We always talk about what teams and players are our rivals. This season, give me what team or player you have a soft spot for. I really enjoyed my time at the end of the season playing with the Tijuana Luchadores. One of the highlights of that short time period was getting to play with a guy like Monty Jack. What a teammate. Willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. Works his ass of every day in practice. Most of all he always has the right mentality about the game. He understands that there's no taking shortcuts to greatness. You Get what you earn and nothing more. Our shared mindset on both this game and life is a major reason why I now consider him a friend and he has my complete and total respect. I have no doubt that wherever he ends up, he will be a great asset to that team. I just hope that I end up on the same team so we can continue to put in hard work and lift an Ultimini. I know that the draft comes and goes and that you don't have much choice in where you end up, but I'll be rooting for him wherever his path takes him. Monty, if you see this, want you to know it's nothing but love man. Good luck. 13) Get Interviewed by a Fan Written: Answer questions for an interview from a fan. You must answer at least four questions and at least three must relate to the league in some way. Link to the interviewer’s PT to receive credit. NOTE: THEY MUST POST THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS) http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=258334 (S20) - Ultimus Week - Skyline - 02-17-2020 6) Expansion I am a big believer in brutal efficiency over enjoyable sportsmanship, so I would follow the guidance of Sam Hinkie of Philadelphia 76ers fame: Trust the Process. I would intentionally put a bad product on the field for 3-4 years, guaranteeing high draft capital and drafting repeatedly the best player available as opposed to one that would better fit team needs (Yes, even if I this means I end up with 7 hall of fame level kickers, because right now this is a fake thought experiment). Then, after 4 years, I would look at who I have, and decide which young players are the key cornerstones of the franchise moving forward. At that point, everyone else is for sale. Veterans, picks, other young players, hopefully by this point I would have accumulated enough positive assets that anything and everything not nailed down would be used to try and trade for pro bowlers to pair with my home grown stars. I know that this would likely mean that ticket sales would be almost non existent, but if I hit on even a couple picks and am able to put a Patrick Mahomes, Saquon Barkley, or Russell Wilson level player on the field then the money will role in. Famine before feast. 8) Scouting Report Acura Skyline, the agile speed back from UCLA, should be at the top of every DSFL General Manager's draft board. At 6'1" and 210 lbs., his size and strength are unique for someone who moves as fast as he does. Having played behind subpar offensive lines for his whole career, Skyline can create on his own, hitting windows at speed and cutting swathes through unprepared defenses. Skyline’s college career was cut short in the middle of his Junior year when his NCAA eligibility was revoked for exchanging autographs for money, but in light of the recent Fair Pay to Play Act signed by Gavin Newsom this past September history will see him more as a trailblazer for student athlete rights rather than a rebel. And in the games that we saw him play at UCLA, it’s tough to look down on a freshman season with over 1000 yards rushing and then a final year with 980 yards across only 6 games. One of the only real concerns about Skyline is health, as he struggled with bone spurs his Sophomore year, but with his dedication to rehab and commitment to the every-day grind he knows how to come back from adversity. Skyline is a can’t miss prospect. 14) Hoisting The Trophy ![]() 20) Ultimus Ad Open: A grassy field, somewhere in Scotland. The ground is damp and muddy, the skies are grey. A large stone covered in Latin inscriptions sits in the middle of the field. The rusty handle of an ancient sword juts out of the stone, reaching up in to the sky. It is clear that this pastoral and mysterious scene has been undisturbed in a long time. Then we hear heavy footsteps, and into the frame walks a knight wearing a suit of armor. Over the armor the knight is wearing a bright white tunic with a radiant red Templar cross. The knight is not wearing a helmet, and he is clearly very handsome with mid length blond hair. The knight slowly approaches the stone and tentatively, delicately wraps one hand around the handle of the sword, and then a second. He gives a gentle tug, and the sword does not move. We hear him inhale slowly, and then exhale, as though he is girding himself to engage in a task requiring enormous strength. He puts one foot up on the stone to get better purchase, and suddenly yanks up on the sword with all of his strength. The sword does not move, and he screams into the sky, straining to pull the sword from the stone. Lightning crashes in the background. Suddenly, he slips, tumbling down to the ground, falling into the mud and staining his bright white tunic. He slams his fist against the ground and lets out another scream. Suddenly, Acura Skyline, dressed in his football jersey, walks into the frame with a full laundry basket in his hands. “Aw man, good thing I’ve got some Tide Pods, they clean everything! Just throw that tunic in here and we’ll get those stains out!” The knight looks up, tears streaming down his face, and then begins to smile with relief. Cut to black. BUY TIDE PODS flashes across the screen. Fin. (S20) - Ultimus Week - Briedaqueduc - 02-17-2020 1) Myrtle Beach is definitely winning the final game of the playoffs against the Grey Ducks. First of all, both us and Minnesota have the best record in the regular season, with 12 wins and 2 losses, so these two teams will most likely be facing in the finals. we have the best defense in the entire DSFL, with only 119 points allowed. The team that is the closest to us is Minnesota, with 186. I still think we have an edge over them. They do have a better a better offense (390 points for them to 290 points for us), but I still think that our players are better. In the two games that the two teams faced against each other, each team won once. Minnesota won the first game 27 to 17 at home, but then Myrtle Beach won 21 to 3 in the second, at their home. So, this game is basically a fifty fifty looking at it this way. But, I feel like Myrtle Beach still have a little edge over Minnesota. First of all, we have the S21 draft class TPE leader. We also have a better average TPE per player. We also have more players that were updated before the playoffs. Simply based on TPE and activity, I think this will give us the edge in the finals 223 words 2) SHL AFFILIATION 4)It would definitely be Norfolk. Norfolk is our eternal division rival. And It would only make sense for them to be our rivals. They believe in the false god Gimmy. That is completely unacceptable. Myrtle Beach believes in the one and only true god, Gaston. Every time both teams play against, it's a big deal. We not only play to win, but also to prove whose god is the best and which god is the real one. Whoever wins has proved that their faith is stronger, and whoever loses should be ashamed of themselves for not representing their god properly. Every player on the field should be ready to give their life to win this game, everyone should be giving their 150% on the field for their god. These games are almost more important than the finals for the Ultimini. We, of course, love seeing them lose. The feeling of showing them who's the real god is one of the best feeling in the world. Showing them that Gimmy is only a gimmick feels so right. This is a match-up that we have mostly won this season, winning three out of four games. We also just faced them in the semi finals, which only adds to our rivalry. May the best god win. 213 words 19)Being an OL myself, I can always appreciate fellow OLs. We are never really appreciated enough, so this is our time now. I want to give a huge shout out to my buddy Doug Quail, one of the best OL in the DSFL, and probably will stay as one of the best in the future. This season, Quail was such an inspiring OL, accumulating 56 pancakes in 14 games, tying with Bryant Alexander of the Luchadores for the most pancakes this season. Both of them also allowed no sacks this season, but I want to mainly talk about my teammate here. Quail is one of the most underrated part of Myrtle Beach's offense, which can also be said from that entire offensive line to be fair. But, Quail is really showing a presence in that offense. He's a key piece in that offense. He was one of the reasons why Myrtle Beach had a great record of 12 wins and 2 losses in the regular season. In the playoffs though, we did not see much from him stat wise. But, his role wasn't really shown properly by the stats. What Quail was really doing is increasing the morale of the team, which helped us get to the finals. 207 words (S20) - Ultimus Week - seanod123 - 02-17-2020 (1) Playoff Predictions The playoff game many have been waiting for is coming very soon. Many peoples favourite for the ultimus, the Yellowknife Wraiths. Up against the underdogs out of Colorado, the Yetis. The Wraiths have been dominant this year, being top five in all offensive stats, and having one of the best defences in the league. Their offense is a real highlight in my opinion, led by the enigmatic RB Mathias Hanyadi and his 1100 rushing yards for 4.3 per carry and 11 TD’s. They will be the favourites, however looking to cause and upset are the Wolfie McDummy led Yetis. He had a 3190 yard passing season, led by WR James Bishop, who has put up a 1005 receiving yard year. While the yetis are mostly average across most categories, their offensive line is among the best in the league, only behind fellow semi-finalists, the New Orleans Second Line. The Wraiths pass rush, led by Danny Grithead and Lightsout Lewis, will have their work cut out. Overall, while many are expecting a Wraiths win, there is always a chance of a comeback, harkening back to the Arizona Outlaws being shocked by the Orange County Otters all the way back in 2019 (16) Dynasty No, I’m a relatively new NSFL fan. In fact, id call myself very new, and while I have done research, its always been hard to predict dynasties starting and ending. Right now it seems like the Wraiths may have something, but they haven’t even won the Ultimus yet. Many thought the original Outlaws would be a long lasting dynasty, only to be overthrown by an even longer one courtesy of the Otters. No, I’m going to make a wild claim, by picking the team that finished rock bottom of the NSFL to become the next big dynasty in the league. Yes! I’m talking about the Chicago Butchers. Now, you might be wondering why I’d choose the worst team in the league, and there are a couple reasons for it. Firstly, all good dynasties start under centre, and the Butchers have a QB who might just be the best in the league. Rose Jenkins led the league in passing yards, TDs, completions, and passing attempts this year, and the Butchers hope he can keep up his incredible season despite the other troubles in the offense. Receiving isn't one of them however, and if Ahri Espeeyeeseetee can keep up his form, that could be a fantastic partnership for the future. All they need is some help on defence, in sacks and turnovers, and if their draft picks can hit, they may well be the NSFLs next dynasty |
