Think about the contenders in the last couple years if you take away the r/NFL classes from their teams and that will be Chicago soon enough. *On the Chicago Butchers: - run_CMC - 03-17-2020 (03-16-2020, 09:40 PM)steelsound Wrote:Next you'll say we can use the draft picks on a Qb (so that window could be sooner), which is what Valor wanted to do this past draft, but Waldo explicitly vetoed the idea in our war room during.Okay well here’s ur problems fellas. You had an idea vetoed by a guy who starts every word with a capital letter: (03-16-2020, 10:11 PM)WALDO Wrote:Welp Steele, If This Is The End Of The Road I Hope That You Find The Success You Want In Chicago, It Sucks That It Has To End Like This. That being said it sounds like you guys need a proper analyst/numbers guy to break things down past the basic concepts like "rebuild" and "win now." You guys need to have quantified values for each of this concepts and weigh them a lot more objectively than it sounds like you are. Also, in a league with very predictable results in terms of regression, planning for a window is a lot more feasible than it is in actual football. I don't think the "win now" approach works at all against teams that have carefully planned their window and their roster such as NOLA. You're pretty much just hoping to get sim lucky instead of building a team the proper way (in my opinion!). A happy medium might be building a team that always has a chance, every year. Either way, let me know if you guys want any help on the numbers front. For what its worth I can appreciate the strides you've made with the team. For a first time GM I would say you've done well. *On the Chicago Butchers: - CDub2 - 03-17-2020 It’s weird. The Yeti of the early seasons in this league were in a very similar stage but they kept all their picks. Everyone hated them and all their picks went IA or left the team because they sucked. So now here we are in Chicago actively making the team better (and yes, it was tough to trade away the picks. It’s not like we get off trading draft capital) and we are still getting hate. The league just loves to dump on the worst teams, but every team besides OCO and YKW has been in the cellar at one point and all of your GMs have made moves to get into the win column. We are just accelerating the process because we want to win with our current QB. It might fail, but at least we are trying, and if you hate people trying, get out of here. *On the Chicago Butchers: - siddhus - 03-20-2020 Not gonna comment on the topic, cause don’t wanna be part of this argument , but in terms of media this was a well-written post. |
