(S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - AsylumParty - 05-18-2020 What a question. Who do I see coming out on top? Of COURSE Tijuana is bringing home this ultimini. It's been written in stone. It is decided. Nonetheless, I'll elaborate. Gilbert is absolutely killing it this season, tearing up defensive linemen, leaving linebackers on their backs, and earning his paycheck (with 7 rushing touchdowns, tied for second most in the DSFL). But would he be as effective without such a potent air attack? Doesn't matter, 'cause he has one. Between both Waters and Slothlisberger, it's an unpredictable, unstoppable force of touchdowns. Absolute GOATS, they are. The water boy is about to be out of a job. They can't even break a sweat before they're swapping lead of the field. Thankfully, that does not have to be that frequently, as Hexagon is the defensive backfield bringing home pick-sixes. In fact, it's a bit reminiscent of our star wide receiver, Vequain, who, usurprisingly, leads the DSFL in receiving yards. And all that, that's just the offense. So what do I think about dark horse teams. Bah, there are none. Sometimes, like the patriots, there's an obvious stranglehold on a trophy, and that'll be further made clear this post season, when Tijuana brings home their seventh Ultimini. (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - HENDRIX 2.0 - 05-18-2020 I think the most likely scenario is another meeting between the Yellowknife Wraiths and OC Otters. I think those two teams are the class of their respective conferences. It would be an interesting matchup if they meet in the Ultimus. For one, if they end up with the same regular season record, we won’t know for sure who this garbage sim engine will give home field advantage too. In the past there have been three instances where the Ultimus participants had the same regular season record, and the only common deciding factor among those three meetings was head to head record. But the Wraiths and Otters don’t play each other in the regular season this year, so if they meet up with the same records who the fuck knows what this sim engine will do, it could be conference record or points scored. Two dark horse teams that could make a run are the Yeti and Second Line. Both are very strong teams, but will have to win on the road if they want to earn an Ultimus berth. My player Quaid will be much more of an impact player than he was last season, he’ll be in the middle of the defense flying around making plays. I want to win this Ultimus bigly, my more experienced teammates in Yellowknife have had enough heartbreak. (224 words) (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - IsaStarcrossed - 05-18-2020 It is always hard to look ahead to playoffs, especially when all the teams are not yet locked in. You have hopes, you have dreams, and you have assumptions, but you can't ever guarantee anything. I fully believe in New Orleans and I expect us to make it. If we do, I'm fully expecting us to repeat next season and take it all. That said, I have to respect the reality that we may not make it and instead look to one of the teams already locked in. For that, I am going with the Yellowknife Wraiths. Yellowknife has been one of the best teams in the league over the last five seasons and this season is no different. They've come just short time and time again, but this time I think they have it potentially locked up. They're dead set on ending the season with the first seed which will give them home field throughout. They've been the hardest team to beat on the road all season and they've gone out of their way to build the strongest roster they possibly could. This team is a juggernaut and it is the strongest iteration of the squad I've seen yet. Realistically I don't know that any team can march into Yellowknife and win a game this season and for once I think they have a true chance to close out the season with a win. I wish them the best in that endeavor. (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - retrospace111 - 05-18-2020 Unfortunately the Arizona Outlaws will not be making the playoffs this season. It wasn't that unexpected, with the majority of our players being young guys who haven't fully developed yet. I didn't have many expectations for this team this season, but seeing us compete with the big dogs when we had no chance has been exciting. Ending the Yeti's undefeated run was a moment I won't forget in a long time. I fully expect the Outlaws to become a competitive team in a season or 2. The playoffs look pretty set right now for the ASFC. I know the NSFC is a really weak conference so I don't expect much from them in the playoffs. It looks like NOLA or OCO will win the Ultimus again unless there is a major upset. The Saberpussies are currently the 3rd seed in our conference but hopefully that changes. I would like them to lose both of their next games and for the Copperheads to come into the 3rd seed. Cause who likes San Jose? No one. I hope the Copperheads beat up the Second Line and Orange County in the playoffs because no one likes those teams. Hopefully they all lose and everyone retires so that way 'Zona comes out on top in a couple seasons. (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - Confictional - 05-18-2020 Right now the Norfolk Seawolves are 5-5 in the SFC South right behind the Dallas Birddogs who are 6-4. They are right at .500 and hope they can get better during the remaining of the season. The Norfolk Seawolves are trying to make another playoff push after being defeated by the Myrtle Beach Bucaneers, and hope to come back stronger than ever. The Seawolves has had a shaky start, but are now picking it up winning 2 games in a row these last 2 weeks. Even though being last in receiving yards, receivers such as Matthews, Blanco, and Haugland have been one of the team's successes. Their running back, Sunrise, who is leading the league in rushing, has also been one of the main factors on why Norfolk is winning. You cannot also forget about their defense either, as they are one of the best defensive teams in the DSFL. I believe that Norfolk will make the playoffs and honestly are a dark house to win it all. They are fearless, and do not care who they are matched up with in the playoffs because they have faith that their team will go and push through. They have the offensive and defensive weapons to do it. WC: 206 (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - tMuse - 05-18-2020 I have tweeted this Quote:Those are some tough games man. Guess we gotta be honest with ourselfs and admit that many teams have catched up to us. Love to see that for the league as it's way more competitive now - Hate to see it for us buccs.some days ago and I still think it's true. I don't mean to say that last season was easy but, for the most part, our team got only stronger and we're last in our division. I'm somewhat glad that DSFL got more competitive as it is way more fun to watch the games as almost every single one is important for the standings still. But that also means that we've got to be realistic here; I don't see us making the playoffs again and thats fine. We gave it our everything and we lost. The only thing bothering us from the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers in general is how close we lost. We still have the best PF / PA ratio and we hold the last place - that's kinda sad to see. Anyway - I think Tijuana Luchadores will be our crowned Ultimini Champion this season. Last year we took the dream out of their hands and this year they will take it all back. I have a good relationship with those guys and I think they really deserve it. Code: 234 words (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - s4ndr0p - 05-18-2020 The Outlaws 22nd season will be cut short since there is no possibility of making the playoffs. As an Outlaw that is really unfortunate. It's great to see the rookie class emerge in their teams some more productive than others. Speaking about otters, I do believe (if i had to pick) that the ultimum is going to feature the orange county otters and the yellowknife wraiths. It's awesome to see how successful my former teammate Acura Skyline plays in an exciting yellowknife offense. On the other side there will be another S22 top runningback prospect in tatsu nakamura, let's see who will dominate the ground game. With Franklin Armstrong deep into his career it might also be one of, if not THE, last time he is going to win an Ulti. Ryeu is looking forward to watch all these players from his couch. It is almost certain that the arizona outlaws are going to be contenders for a playoff spot in one or two years (because they are coming out of a rebuilding phase). I am excited for the future, with both drafts coming soon and also with a new chance of having a great season. Let's have a good season 23 Outlaws and Royals! 206 words (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - IHateBobNutting - 05-18-2020 ![]() (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - Bayley - 05-18-2020 PBE PT, Bayley (S22) - PT4 - Road to Glory - slothfacekilla - 05-18-2020 I think the Tijuana Luchadores are poised to make a lot of noise in the DSFL playoffs after not making the postseason last year. As of this very moment the Lucha own the league's best offense, scoring the most points and usually doing it in style. Featuring both a potent passing game to go along with a deadly run game, the Tijuana Luchadores lately have been scoring points in bunches. And that is even ignoring their fantastic kicking game, with the Lucadores kicker at the top of the league for points scored, pretty impressive. Not only that, the Luchadores are extremely solid on defense, ranking in the top half of the league for points against. Their strength is definitely the safeties in the backfield, but I think the linebacking and defensive line groups could be huge for Tijuana in the playoffs. Especially when it comes to stopping the premier running backs in the DSFL, which probably will decide playoff dominance this year. I don't expect Slothlisberger to be a huge contributor to the box score points. Although he owns the DSFL's top completion percentage, he lags behind in Touchdown throws because of the two QB system not giving him many red zone looks. Despite that, the high completion percentage and ability to throw the ball much farther than his counterpart should help set the Lucha up for points! Hopefully we can make some noise this season. 236 words |
