Every sim league is pretty unimaginative when it takes to location for new teams. Usually we have the perennial american cities, but when users start requesting teams to think outside of the box and go to Europe for example, normally the city selected is London, for it's NFL connections.
I honestly think it is about time this league gets a team in Portugal. Either city would be cool, the country has a lot of fantastic places, but i would go with the capital city, Lisbon. This city is vibrant, with a lot of amazing views, it's near the ocean, so that visitors that come from the United States following their teams would have a lot to do besides the game.
For its name, looking at the portuguese people history, i would have to go with something about the sea and the fact that we were once owners of the sea, travelling all over the world to conquer new territories. We were once Civilization winners by default, no one could come even close.
So, in conclusion, i think "Portuguese Navigators", "Lisbon Conquerors" or "Portuguese Settlers".
I feel the league should expand and this time with 1 team in europe and another in Oceania/Asia, for all our members from those areas.

If I were responsible for founding my own NSFL expansion team, I would have to go with something near and dear to my heart. As my player is Adelie de Pengu and he is in fact a ferocious little penguin, I believe my heart would lead me to creating the NSFL's first ever team based off of a polar animal. The Penguins. Where should they be located though? Well obviously we would have to base them in de Pengu's homeland. Antarctica. With that we would have the Antarctica Penguins. They would be fantastic for the league. They would be an international team and we all know how the league needs to be more international with our only team not in North America being in the DSFL. More than that, I believe the team could come up with all sorts of ferocious chants and easily be fired up on game days. After all, the basis of the team is the Adelie Penguin and we all know that they are little balls of fury. I believe any team known as the Antarctica Penguins would be able to channel their inner penguin and unleash that fury on the field. The Adelie Penguin is a noble and beautiful animal that is often forgotten and I believe this team would bring some much needed abstention to de Pengu's people. So watch out NSFL, the Penguins are coming to a stadium near you.

I can't help but want to put a team in my home state of North Carolina. Where in North Carolina would the team be located? I see Charlotte and Raleigh as the two best options for location. Charlotte, home of the Panthers in the NFL, is a huge city that has the infrastructure to support a professional football team. Raleigh, or more accurately the Raleigh-Durham area, is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and it would make sense to capitalize on this booming area. Looking over all the team names throughout the NSFL the one thing I see missing more than anything else is dinosaurs. Therefore, I present to you the Raleigh Velociraptors! With a wild color scheme of teal and burgundy this team will stand out in their super fresh new uniforms. The team store will sell those blow up velociraptor costumes for fans to wear in the stands and that's the same thing the team mascot will wear, but it will be in giant form. The Raleigh Velociraptors will take the league by storm as they soon become one of the most popular teams in the league with a rapidly growing rabid fanbase. Who doesn't love dinosaurs? Kids come for the dinosaurs and moms stay for the awesome color scheme! It's the best of both worlds!

Expansion is a ton of fun! If I was in charge of bringing a NSFL franchise into the league as an Expansion GM, there’s a clear and defined need for NSFL football in the Boston and New England market. It’s clearly been established with defined concrete success in the NFL with the New England Patriots that there’s a huge rabid fanbase here waiting for their crack at the NSFL. In the top 10 sports markets in the United States, Boston and New England altogether cracks the top 10 at number 9 with 2.3 million homes in their geographical range. It’s an easily accessible city for NSFL players and staff, reducing the difficulty for day to day logistics than the average NSFL market.

I would probably present something akin to the New England Wolfpack in the SHL, something like the Boston Admirals or something that has a nautical theme. The color scheme the Boston Admirals would have on their kit would be powder blue, white and gold. Boston Harbor has played a major role in the history of the USA, highlighted predominately by the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773. I just think there are far too many positives that could occur for the NSFL to not come to Boston.

How is the number one media market in the country missing a team? The obvious answer for a new team location is New York City. Regarding a mascot, I would choose something that pays homage to both the team's location as well as the nature of the league itself. After pondering for some time, I could not think of a better tie-in than the classic Wachowskis' film The Matrix. The Matrix, of course, features a plotline wherein the characters are all living in a simulated world, so perhaps we can also imagine that NSFL players are also plausible characters in this universe. While the film itself does not claim to take place in any particular city, it is replete with imagery of skyscrapers and subway systems. As these are both common fixtures of New York City, it is easy to imagine that this is the intended setting of the movie. Geographically, this team would be placed in the NSFC, and it is easy to envision a natural rivalry forming with the Philadelphia Liberty (both due to proximity and the fact that New York fans might be slighted at another city using 'Liberty' as a mascot). There are many Matrix-themed names that could be used for the expansion franchise (e.g. Trinity, Spoons), but what I settled on was the New York Oracle. Much like the sim itself, the Oracle character is an inscrutable force with amazing predictive power that cannot be deciphered through any reasonable means.
