Trivia was copy and paste for free TPE - there wasn't anything interactive with it. I'm glad Predictions is coming back!

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - White Cornerback - 08-06-2020

will they post predictions all at the start of the week or pretend that pasting somebodys predictions and logging out after somehow drives engagement among the userbase hmm

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - SchwarzNarr - 08-06-2020

Can we please post all of the weeks predictions at the start of the Sim Week, though? Or at least earlier? I physically do not have the time or access during work to post on a whim. If the whole week was up (three or four separate posts for each sim night), it at least allows me more time to try and get it done instead of ~24 hours.

I love you though @infinitempg, you're my favorite HO member(don't tell the other)

Strangely enough this is exactly why I was against it. We've seen what most considered to be no-brainer rules in the past vetoed by HO votes (not confirmed because of the lack of rules voting transparency, but nevertheless obvious). No reason why a governing body, internally selected without any sort of public oversight should be able to automatically veto a rule that every single team is in agreement on.

Its crazy how people out here pretending like predictions are interactive. We've literally had media posts tell people who to copy. Lmao. The only difference between Trivia and Predictions is one people have to log in three times a week to copy before logging out, the other was only once a week.

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - Frostbite - 08-06-2020

I am immensely disappointed that proposal 4 passed. My team has 2 players that were drafted at 50 TPE, one of which is now 800 TPE and the other 400 (both currently max earners), with that rule in place they would have never been drafted and have likely stayed at 50 TPE and never contributed to the league. This rule passed just because people are lazy. I think the 1% of people that come back and start max earning are worth the 99% of 50 TPE people who are IA and stay IA.

1. I just want to say I think it is a good sign of league health that this was even being considered based on what I have been told of the before times.

2. Absolutely adore this change as there are a lot of great people who are deserving of recognition in the Hall of Fame.

4. This seems reasonable to me since most people at that TPE level would rather just recreate.

5. This was a close one and I have to say I would have voted for it based on my interpretation. Although I can understand the hesitancy.

10. Brilliant change as there are certain positions where you absolutely need to be able to max height and weight.

11. I am going to also hold the hope that we will have more time to be able to do predictions. I liked trivia, but I understand that I am in the minority there. However the window for predictions being so short is something that I personally vehemently disagree with. Honestly I think no one should miss out on TPE for being away from the site for 48 hours.

Special 4. This seems pretty reasonable given the requirements of department heads and the level of experience most users in those positions have right now.

Thank you for the work that went into this and I hope that all the people who put work into it get to have a nice day of rest soon.

why i love you too <3

I do have to disagree based on the fact that this does prevent GMs from ramming through something that obviously benefits them and not the league. If GMs wanted to say "hey, we're going to force expansion to be through the draft only and we lose no one" and all agreed to vote yes, we wouldn't want that to pass. You are right that it requires at least one HO's approval to pass and that HO would basically be able to "blockade" a rule, but I would argue that's part of the design?

I don't have a problem with more "representation of players" from HO - though the logistics of doing that would be tricky. I'm not totally comfortable just having users vote a new HO in (that's how we'd get @jimmyGOAT10 as an HO member), but maybe a single elected HO voted on by teams? I don't know. If I can find the time, I will try to release my personal votes on this and my reasoning for it, but don't hold your breath because I don't have a lot of time.

The other thing is that 70% and GM+1 tend to be the same, and if HO can finally get more than 4 members it would require more than just GM+1 anyways. A good rule that passes should have broad approval regardless, and so 70% seems like an appropriate number.

It might not have been the most interactive or challenging activity, but I’ll miss Trivia for the fact that I got to learn more about the league through it
