The Ducks Stock is Soaring!!

The Ducks stock is going off the charts and that isn't just because the charts don't exist, there are plenty of factual, non-biased reasons to invest now in the completely real Quack based stock.

Reason one: Jameson Vermillion, holy cow you can almost see the fake money growing on this guy. With such inspiring quotes as "run ball good", and "catch ball good, run ball gooder" how can you not expect a team to rally around and find success with such a clear and motivational message to the team?

Reason 2: The Ducks put up a heck of a fight in week two. They are dangerous at all times, despite a loss, the game was a missed field goal from going into overtime against a well rounded London team, honestly London's stock should also be rising considering they were able to stand fast on that terrifying looking comeback attempt, then again giving up eighty two yard touchdown runs doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Reason 3: This team is already spooky good, in all reality London is likely a top two team in the league this year and the Ducks have more room for improvement than either of the top two, by mid-season expect the Ducks to be a playoff contender or a favorite to go all the way and win the Ultimini!

As someone who invested $10 million into the ISFL stock market last week, it's easy to use the stock values listed there as a proxy for how team different teams are viewed around the league. Coming off the worst record in the league, Chicago unsurprisingly had the lowest valued stock coming into the season, worth almost 20% less than the next-closest team (San Jose). Obviously, the community saw that Chicago would not pan out as the worst team in the league, as well over half of the stock purchased in the market was for the Butchers, and many season predictions tapped the Butchers for a potential playoff berth. It remains to be seen if the Butchers will appear in the postseason--Sarasota and Colorado look like clear favorites to lock up two of the spots in the NSFC, but the final seed might be up for grabs through the entirety of the season. Looking at Chicago's schedule, I am certain that we are in for a rollercoaster season. The entire season for Chicago repeats the pattern of two away games followed by two home games, so the team will likely be playing "catch up" during its two game mini-home stretches. As always, the success of the team will come down to quarterback play. Can O'Donnell do enough to steal some key away games while limiting turnovers while playing at home? Only time will tell.

The Tijuana Luchadores are coming off of a fairly average to poor season 23 campaign where the finished  6-8, three full games behind Dallas and four behind Norfolk.
To try and right the ship the Tijuana Luchadores had a very busy off-season scouting only players who they felt fit the mold. On the back of the ISFL draft they were thrown a huge bonus when a large number of their biggest impact players were sent back down to spend another year in the DSFL.
The Luchadores must have seen this as a sign to push for the title as instead of drafting fresh prospects they spent a large number of draft picks on waiver picks and recreates giving them a headstart on the competition.
The tactic seems to have helped the team start off well with the Tijuana Luchadores seeing away the Dallas Birddogs rather handily in the first game of the season.
Noone highlights the Luchadores intentions better than the pick up of Tex Wrecks - whilst he might not be as active as some of the people who joined in the off-season his TPE of 183 going into the second game is a sight to behold when compared to the majority of other S25 rookies.
The Luchadores stock is definitely rising but will it plateau during the year or will they rode that wave to the ultimini?

Week one found the Grey Ducks in a position they didnt expect to be in, 0-1, after a loss to Rival London Royals. The Grey Ducks stock has undoubtedly fallen after the loss.

Defensively, the Ducks were expected to play much better than they did. The passing defense was mediocre. The run Defense, while solid, gave up a lot of yards due to having to fall into coverage more often to support the secondary. The pass rush was the diamond in the rough for the Minnesota defense. With so many talented rookies on defense, its only a matter of time before they shape up. With Gleel a constant threat to the Quarterback, and Blackfyre improving in the Free Safety position, combined with all the other rookies improving and the veterans alike, its only a matter of time. However until then, If the stock of the team is goimg to improve, the secondary is going to have to improve so that the defense can play cohesively and as a solid impenetrable unit.

Offensively the Minnesota Grey Ducks struggled early on. The passing game struggled throughout, particularly in the first half. The running game was pretty dominant in the second half, with, in my opinion, the play of the week, an 82 yard rushing TD by vermillion. An incredible one-two punch at the RB position will create opportunites for the Ducks in the future, but the passing attack is going to have to step up and move the ball downfield. The OL played pretty well, only allowing a single sack all game. This is a big reason for the run game being so effective.

Overall the Grey Ducks stock likely dropped a little bit after this week. That doesnt mean it wont climb up even higher in the coming weeks. After falling 17-0 early on, coming back to near victory is not an easy task. If the Grey Ducks can improve on their weaknesses, and come out of the gate a little stronger to prevent the opposing team getting an early lead, they will be a force to be reckoned with for sure.

You might think that after receiving callups, the Norfolk Seawolves would have their stock drop compared to their ultimini season. After all, their kicker who was a part of the Ultimini team (and who was the Player of the Game for both playoff games) was an integral part of that team. However, this year Norfolk do not have their beloved Daria Guava-Fresca. Instead, taking her place is the terrifying Melvin Murder-Moose. Now you might wonder how a moose taking the place of the kicker would make Norfolk a better team - the reality is, Melvin will straight up scare and probably murderate anyone who comes into contact with Norfolk, on or off the field.

Now you might think that it is unfair, to have a moose who is murdering other players, but at the same time, we have to recognize that Guava-Fresca (a late create, mind you), was able to become kicker of the year and be playoff Player of the Game twice with not nearly the experience that Murder-Moose has. In fact, Murder-Moose has reached stat levels that are better than what Guava-Fresca had to offer in her first season. This means that although Murder-Moose has missed kicks early in his career, Norfolk are willing to attempt field goals more frequently than they were punting early in the season. A 50 yard loss stinks in terms of points and stats, but it also was the potential for more points. I think as Murder-Moose continues this season capped out, you will continue to see great things from Norfolk as a result.

The Sarasota Sailfish have been surprisingly dominant so far this season. As the only undefeated team in the ISFL, the Sailfish has not only won but have done so convincingly. They crushed the Yeti 34-16 on the road and defeated the defending champion Wraiths 22-19. A large part of their success is thanks to their incredible defense. By allowing only 52 points in 4 games, their defense has far surpassed anyone’s expectations of them.

With their great start, the Sailfish already have half the number of wins they had last season. Going 8-8 last season and finishing in 2nd to last place in a conference with the Butchers left many with middling expectations of Sarasota. This is reflected by their opening stock price of $1,008,777, which was the 7th lowest of the 12 teams. With their incredible start to the season, the Sailfish’s stock price has skyrocketed to $1,275,744. This is the highest of any team in the league by almost $100,000. It is hard to say if Sarasota’s success is due to luck, or if they truly are one of the best teams in the ISFL. All that can be said is that the Sailfish have looked dominant so far and stock in the team is rising more than anyone could have imagined.

The Philadelphia Liberty has seen their (hypothetical) stock go down considerably this season due to not meeting the expectation set last season. A year removed from coming in third place in the NSFC, and coming in second in Points For (378) and Points Against (291), after four games this season the Philadelphia Liberty are dead last in the division, given up the most points (121), and are in second place for fewest points scored (65). Whether this sudden drop is the result of losing quality starters from last season, or if the squad has yet to play up to their potential, one thing is glaringly obvious: This is a very different Liberty squad than last season. It remains to be seen if they can save their season by going on a hot streak down the stretch.

Righting the ship, so to speak, begins with shoring up the porous Philly defense. Giving up a whopping 30 points per game on average is not a recipe for success, particularly so when the offense is averaging almost half that at 16.3 points per game. Maybe their needs to be some shaking up of the depth chart, or perhaps a mid-season trade to inject this team with some much needed swagger and spark.
