This Halloween has the potential to be epic: the holiday falls on a Saturday (which means we get an entire day of candy, costumes, and crafts) and there will even be a full moon (so spooky!). That said, there are a few things that will set Halloween 2020 apart from all other years — most notably, the coronavirus pandemic and everything that comes with it. But just because we need to remain socially distanced this year doesn't mean Halloween is canceled — it just means we need to brainstorm creative quarantine Halloween ideas.
On an ordinary Halloween Heinrich Kackpoo would organise a huge house party and invite the whole neighbourhood. But this year he, like all other people, has to settle for less. Heinrich for example is planning to spend his Halloween weekend mostly at home with his family. They go through the whole stuff, carving pumpkins, decorating the house. Of course he would still dress up and wait for kids to come around hunting for sweets. Late at night then he would light a bonfire in the backyard of his house enjoying a beer or two and listen to music. When the sun comes out they extinguish the fire, clean up everything and eventually go to bed, hoping that the next year everything would return to normal and they will be able to celebrate as they used to.

I never really understood the huge amount of hype around Halloween to be completely honest. Scary movies are fun although sometimes I get real scared watchin them before bed. Costumes are ok, it’s nice to be able to pretend to be someone else sometimes. But overall it’s just kind of an ok holiday to me. So, I don’t do too much every year. I know the local kids have a good time and I want to make sure they all enjoy the holiday more than I do, so what I do is simple. I take some of my apple stock money (and some of those football cheques as well) and I make sure I buy what the kids call full bars. Then I sit outside on my front porch in Greenbow, Alabama. The kids arrive in costume and I give them each two candy bars. I don’t really get why two full bars is so much better than a handful of small ones, but they get all sorts of excited when they hear that’s what I give out. Word spread when I started doing it back in the day and I became one of the most popular houses in the area for candy. When I moved to Tijuana and then New Orleans I thought about not goin home for Halloween, but the kids would get sad and I don’t want that. So I make the trek annually.

Here's the deal. American candy is the absolute best. You've got your Snickers. You've got your Reese's cups. You've got your Kit Kats. The list goes on and on. In a grueling football season, it is hard to allow yourself to indulge in sweets, but there's one day a year that Adam Schell always makes an exception: Halloween. The 5 pounds and the food coma are worth it and can be fixed quickly, but this is a day to be celebrated. Unfortunately, while Berlin has lots of great desserts, the candy game is not as strong as American and Schell has been craving some good homeland candy this season. Luckily, he just learned that there is an American neighborhood near Oskar-Helene-Heim where the streets are often decorated incredibly scarily and loads of good American candy is passed out by the bucket. Jackpot. So while other adults will likely be going to Halloween parties, drinking, and dancing, you can bet that Adam Schell will be fully decked out in a classic homemade costume (thanks, mom) and trick or treating with the best of them in Oskar-Helene-Heim. If you need him the next day, he'll be unavailable until about 3pm. Just like he does the great game of football, Schell goes all out when it comes to Halloween candy.

Chuck loves Halloween! He only likes to scare opposing quarterbacks and not small children though, so he doesn't dress up as anything scary. He dresses up as his dream job: an astronaut! Chuck went to space camp as a young boy and loved it, but grew so big that they don't make space suits big enough to fit him. Apparently his shoulders are too broad to fit into the new SpaceX launce capsule anyways. Luckily, the pop up spirit Halloween store by Chuck's house has the astronaut costume in 3 XL, so he can finally live his dreams.

Growing up, Chuck and his friends always used to plot the most efficient route through their neighborhoods, trying to score the most candy in the littlest time possible. One year, Chuck even managed to snag seven king sized candy bars in one night! Now that he's an adult, he realized that even though he worse three different costumes that night to hit all the good houses three times, it was probably obvious that it was him three times and the adults were just being nice with their candy. Chuck has decided to pay it forward and will be giving out multiple king sized candy bars to everyone who stops by his house.

Halloween season you say? Always one of the busiest times of the year football wise, and its during a late season push like this one. I get recognized almost everywhere as a famous Arizona football player, but being able to wear a costume during trick or treating usually hides my identity. This is why its one of my favorite times of the year. I can be normal in public for once and not treated like the superstar that I am. Halloween luckily fell on Saturday this year, because it usually is during a weekday. Last year it was during a game, and that wasn't fun, but at least we get to sleep in? If it's the day before a game it's even worse because I need to get some sleep. I might wear my Halloween themed cleats during the games this week. So, watch out for that. One of my favorite traditions with the team is us all buying Outlaws jerseys and football helmets and pretending we are dressing up as the players for Halloween when we are actually them. Some people don't notice and some do, but it's super funny not getting recognized at all. Hopefully we can win some games leading up to the holiday so the team isn't depressed.

For Halloween, Jamar Lackson will engage in his favorite festivity, that is dressing up as his idol growing up, Raven QB Lamar Jackson, not only because they look the same, but because their names are similar as well, it gets so many people. For the other part of Halloween, the scary part, Lackson doesn't really participate, because the Sabercats are known as the Cardiac Cats for a reason, because of all of their heart wrenching 1 score games that occur every week. So the main festivity of the night is re watching all of the games that had happened this season, and sitting there in fear of the ender, as it could go either way any week. Going back to last season, we have had 21 one score games, and that is plenty scary to watch instead of any classic horror movie. Otherwise Lackson just sits there with all of the Halloween candy he bought and eats it to make sure it doesn't go to waste, then getting a good nights sleep and regretting the decision to eat that much the morning after. Other than that there isn't much going on for Lackson during this holiday, besides trying to work off all of the weight gained the the previous night, wouldn't want to be a Power Back anytime soon!
