RE: (S27) PT4 - Superstar - Pat - 02-22-2021 Prior to the Season 25 ISFL Draft, Doy Fieri (formerly Vance Slattery) discovered that he was in fact the illegitimate son of famed Food Network Star, Guy Fieri. This created the perfect storm for television producers across the country as they were looking for a new reality TV star. There have been a handful of former athletes who have gone into acting, and a few of them have actually gone on to become stars of cooking and food and travel shows. What made Doy's situation so appealing to network heads, though, was that never has there been a currently active athlete who was so close to the American food scene as Doy Fieri. After the news hit the tabloids that Guy Fieri had a son he never knew about, the networks came calling, and MTV of all places pitched a short documentary / reality series titled, “Finding Flavortown” which followed Doy during the Season 24-25 off-season, and culminated with him finally meeting Guy Fieri during the Season 25 ISFL Draft. Since then, Doy has been a recurring character on many Food Network shows as a guest judge, including Chopped 3D and So You Think You Can Noodle. While the details are still fuzzy, Doy is also in talks with Food Network to have his own show. The working title is reportedly Exploring the International Simulation Flavor League, and the premise is Doy hanging out and cooking with various members of not only his team, the Philadelphia Liberty, but also friends he has made across the league. The network has released teaser descriptions for a few episodes and says more are in the works. At age 26, it was realistically now or never to find out whether he could crossover to basketball. Word got out about Dawkins interest in basketball resulting in some interest from producers looking to document an attempt for Dawkins to head back home to Australia and compete in some preseason games in the NBL during the ISFL offseason. After much discussion, it was announced that a project named "Crossover" spanning between the Season 28 offseason and Season 29 offseason was given the green light. The Season 28 portion of filming will see a camera crew follow Dawkins during the offseason as he works to juggle training in basketball and football in preparation for the NBL Preseason in the following offseason. The Season 29 offseason would mark the end point of the project with Dawkins playing in the NBL Preseason, with the focus on his performances during the preseason and whether anything comes off the back of his performances. Having maintained some contact with scouts and front office members in the NBL, Dawkins is slated to join either the New Zealand Breakers or the Sydney Kings for the preseason games. While generally reserved, the series is a chance to get to know Dawkins a little more and follow along as he attempts to crossover into basketball whilst simultaneously continuing to play in the ISFL with Honolulu. You won't just be a football player, you'll be an actor, a movie star, a... a... a celebrity!" Gio was skeptical, but he decided to say "To hell with it" and talk with the people his Agent wanted him to see. Gio put on his best attire and drove to the address of the agency that wanted to make him into a star. He looked at the location- it was beautiful. State of the art technology, fountains, and an amazing atmosphere- but Gio wasn't convinced. He wanted to talk to the agency and see how they were going to turn Gio Bianchi into a worldwide celebrity. Gio sat down with the agents- a bunch of corporate bigwigs. Gio sensed that they had only come down here to make him feel welcome. Gio thought that once he agreed, they'd dip and try and screw him over. But despite his extreme skepticism, Gio decided to press on with the meeting and see what the team had in store for him. Then, one of the bigwigs said this: "Well, Gio, I think that we can make you a celebrity by helping you write short, 2,000 word stories about your life- an autobiographical series, if you will. We'll put that on the Player's Tribune or something. Do you like it?" Gio then walked out of that establishment. Why? Because he had been doing the same thing, on the same site. The agency didn't even bother looking him up to see if he had already done the idea. Gio also fired his agent. After Haywood’s critically acclaimed performance on a Philadelphia car dealership commercial, he’s been angling for more TV gigs. Well finally he was approached for Philadelphia public access TV to film a show that explores the lives of Southerners living in the great city of brotherly love. A show called Cheesesteak Chaps. The pilot episode will include a peak into Haywood’s downtown Philadelphia apartment along with a camera crew (one man with a hand held) who will follow Haywood around to his favorite barbeque joint and country bar in the city. While episode two will feature Andie Summers and a look into Philadelphia’s country station, 92.5 XTU, the plan is to bring the two men together for an episode, perhaps with Haywood performing a song live, on-air. The show’s conclusion will follow a group of country music fans, ideally to include Haywood, to a Chris Stapleton show at Lincoln Financial Field. While signs point to a recipe for a very interesting television show debut for Haywood, word on the street is production is being held up as Haywood was only recently informed he would not be able to be filmed drinking on the show. Stay tuned for more updates. RE: (S27) PT4 - Superstar - Yeenoghu - 02-22-2021 If Juan Domine were to catch the eye of some famous movie producer, it would almost certainly be by happenstance. Funnily enough, Hollywood executives can be spotted at the Chicago Butchers' stadium from time to time, and it is always at the behest of Butchers tight end Tree Gelbman. Aside from being the reigning ISFL Tight End of the Year, Gelbman moonlights as a horror film actress. Notably, the team has done plenty of themed photoshoots with butcher paraphernalia (knives, cleavers, and the like--always fake of course per insurance stipulations, except for the Thanksgiving shoot where there was a suspicious stabbing involving turkey). So for Domine to appear in a movie, it would most likely be somewhat inspired by images of him smiling while holding a comically oversized meat cleaver. As far as his specific role is concerned, I would envision him playing a charismatic villain that no one suspects a la Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Since Gelbman already has the axe covered as her weapon of choice, Domine's character would most likely use a knife to avoid redundancy and to stick to the Butchers theme for an added level of fan service. I'm not entirely sold on Domine's acting chops though, so his IMDB list might stay stuck at one appearance for quite some time. RE: (S27) PT4 - Superstar - Menace0528 - 02-22-2021 I mean, my player is literally named Marlon Brando. I feel like I just happened to choose an amazingly fitting name for this point task, as my player is literally based off of a fictional actor. I mean, assuming Marlon Brando in real life was still alive and well, it wouldn’t be shocking for some big wig producer to take not of him and cast him. I mean even in his old age he was cast in the Godfather, so it’s not like him being older would mean he wouldn’t get hired. I have to be honest, I have not actually seen any movies or anything with Marlon Brando in them, but I know he was in some big movies (Godfather and Streetcar Named Desire are some examples), so like yeah, Marlon Brando would absolutely be noticed by directors. Ignore the fact that Marlon Brando in the league is 300 pounds and a defensive lineman, i’m sure his acting chops would still carry him through to a great acting job. Maybe he’d even be cast in a football movie, as he’s a football player now. I’m not sure, I guess that would be up to the director. Maybe he’d be cast in another mob movie, I mean he was very good in the Godfather, so like maybe directors would take note of that. But don't worry, this isn't some main stream pop singing gig - Adam is an oboe player. Super manly instrument for a super manly dude. You may have heard the oboe when literally any character dies in your favorite TV show or movie, it's that sad sounding instrument that takes over the moment Ana and Elsa's parents die during "Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?" "Why the oboe?" One might ask. Schell's response is right in line with the rest of his pursuits and interests, "Not many people play it and it's really hard! I love a good challenge." The upcoming album cover is rumored to feature Adam in full pads and uniform playing the instrument, emphasizing the unexpected contrast of a large, professional athlete playing such a dainty instrument. But don't you worry, when he gets going he'll show you that it doesn't have to be played daintily. Check it out, coming to iTunes in June! RE: (S27) PT4 - Superstar - WildfireMicro - 02-22-2021 Tsuyu Asui would be approached by a talemt agent to appear in a new cooking series called "Cooking with the Frog" to be on the Food Network in America and the UK. The show would mainly be her showing how to properly cook many traditional dishes from her homeland of Japan, including her homemade ramen and tea. The show would also include several guests including her classmates from UA and her teammates from the London Royals. It would also show off many dishes to help with weight and conditioning training and weight loss. Another aspect of the show would be her talking about the history of the various traditional dishes and how each of them has evolved over the many years. She would also show off dishes from other countries she had learned and the history of them such as bourbon pie from Kentucky and fish and chips from the UK. The talk with the talent agent went well at first but it quickly broke down when it was revealed that a lot of filming days would be on the same day as football practice and there was no way her schedule could ever work with that. She was disappointed because she did want to show off how she can cook but eventually just figured she could just do a food blog showing it off. |
