To start off some real film conversation in this thread, I'll say that my username "HalfEatenOnionBagel" is derived from the character Mad Slick, A.K.A. Dr. Aquafresh A.K.A. Big Jennifer Garner A.K.A. Tim Russert A.K.A. Cream of Wheat A.K.A. Half an Onion Bagel A.K.A. Carl-Carl-Carl-That's Carl with a "C," not a "K." from the 2007 classic Kicking it Old School

Just too many to keep up with especially as some who doesn't go to the movies that often anyways (thank you Netflix). I just skipped the entire Andrew Garfield Spider-Man reboot series, though I have been told that I didn't miss anything.
Yea I definitely skipped that reboot too but the real killer is the cookie cutter movie builds. There’s always a main bad guy with a cgi fight, the same problems, the same themes, stupid one liners. It’s just the same shit over and over. I can’t take it anymore

Yeah only movie I'm looking forward to soon is Star Wars and even Episode 7 left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied

Yup. So I thought 7 was decent knowing they were just doing the exact same thing and they introduced some cool characters but Rogue One was straight garbage imo. I’m excited for 8 cuz Rian Johnson

Yeah I guess I didn't like the rehashed plot in 7 but I do kind of understand trying to ease back into the series and also bring in new fans. Rogue one was fun but it almost just felt unnecessary in a way

Too many characters, too many worlds, rushed plot line. They like jam packed way too much into this one single story. It should have been a very simple tight thing but it was just dumb to me

My biggest issue with the new Star Wars is the aliens

Where all my classic Star Wars aliens at? Where are the twi’lecks and the fish guys and the Hutts and the cat looking people?

And I’d understand if the new aliens were actually unique and colorful and Star-Wars-like but instead they all look like bland potatoes.

The junk yard dude on that paid Rey for her scrap? Looks like a potato. The old “totally not yoda” alien that gave them Luke’s old lightsaber? Looks like a shriveled up orange potato. Even all the background aliens look like boring potatoes.

Star Wars was known for its unique and colorful aliens, but all the old ones are various colors of beige and look like spuds.

Idk why but that’s my biggest issue with new Star Wars lol

I think Rogue One served its purpose. It had the potential to be much better, that's for sure, but it was entertaining and fixed some plot holes from the original Star Wars. For our first Star Wars Story, I thought it was a good enough movie.

What plot holes did it fix? 2 meter wide vent?

The problem with the movie for me like I said before was too much stuff crammed into a finite amount of time and there was no flow and poor character development
