There is no rest at all for the best players in the NSFL. Avon Blocksdale went home for Christmas for one day, but right after went right back to throwing footballs and getting better. Avon has worked tirelessly this off season attempting to become a stronger passer, make his throws more accurate and become more intelligent at reading the field. Additionally he is now going to have two amazing new targets to work with. He already has great chemistry with Trey Willie, but he also has started to develop great chemistry with multiple time Pro Bowler Alexander Leclair and stud rookie (and DSFL MVP) John Wachter. Avon has not really rested over the holidays he has just focused on getting better.

In addition to working on his passing Avon has also attempted to increase his agility. Avon took a fairly high number of sacks last year and is attempting to cut down on those numbers for this year. Additionally during this Christmas break Avon wanted to set goals for this season. Avon wants to be the best QB in the entire NSFL. He has his sites set on Matty Aks on the Wraiths, Chris Orosz in San Jose, Mike Boss in Orange County and King Bronko in the Arizona Dessert. Avon thinks that this year he can be one of the best QBs and he's excited to follow up his pro bowl season with an even better one. Christmas time for Avon is a good time prep.

Over this year's holiday season, Poopyface Tomatonose will spend his time watching the Star Wars prequel movies in anticipation of the newly released "Star Wars: The Last Jedi". He will also spend a considerable amount of time arguing political and social issues with his family. "Don't be a homophobe, Grandpa," he'll say, "I have the moral high ground". "Ugh, so uncivilized," he'll mutter to himself.

The winter season is always a difficult one for Tomatonose. He hates snow. It's cold and wet and irritating and it gets everywhere. With his extended family in town he will undoubtedly receive numerous calls asking for directions. His family will tell them they took the wrong exit or made a wrong turn, to which he will respond "Well then you are lost".

Outside of this, Tomatonose will spend time volunteering at a soup kitchen. His favorite soup is tomato and he enjoys serving it to all of the locals. Their inevitable puns will range from cringe-worthy to terrible in quality. When he returns home he will watch the full Star Wars anthology with his friends. According to him they prefer the not-that-superior original trilogy of movies and mock him relentlessly for appreciating the prequels.

With the details of his probation including not being around children, Kevin Cushing decided not to do any high profile volunteering. He also decided not to do any low profile volunteering. Technically, there were plenty of options for the latter that were allowed under his current restrictions, but he didn’t feel like stocking boxes for another holiday. Instead, he started off by playing Madden 18. Even though the most recent installment was pure garbage, it was one of the only ways to find people as petty and competitive as himself, and to ruin their days. He did that for a few hours until he got hungry, but as he’d forgotten to go food shopping and didn’t feel like going out in the Philadelphia weather, he ended up eating some pre-packaged shit that he only had sitting around the house because he did a commercial for it when he was trying to get his name out there for the draft. Aside from that, he alternated between fucking around, watching movies, masturbating to some AMAZINGLY fucked up porn, and watching a little game film, though far less critically than he had the porn. All in all, it was a pretty standard day off for Cushing.

During the holidays, Carlito Crush flies back to the Dominican Republic during the league wide break. He gets together with friends and family from the island, and his mother still insists on doing all of the cooking. She makes an insane amount of food, and everyone is invited. People keep going in and out of the house all day, eating, talking, drinking, and laughing. Carlito makes it a point to go back to his youth football league and play with the kids. He gives them tips on how to play football, how to eat right, and how to even strength train a bit. The kids love it. Then they play a little bit of a football game where Carlito is all time QB, so he plays for both teams. When he isn’t busy talking to seemingly the entire country, Carlito makes time for his favorite thing to do when growing up: Hanging out with his dad. Sometimes they run on the beach, sometimes they train in the gym, and occasionally they put together a fun little wrestling match. They can’t do anything too crazy though, as Carlito’s new contract with Colorado prohibits it. Carlito gives a lot of his friends and family new Yeti hats and Crush jerseys. Its really funny to see all of the Colorado Yeti and Portland Python merchandise that is being worn around the island. After a few days though, Carlito flies back to the states and gets back to work. The holidays are a special time to spend with your family and friends. This year like most other Bradley Westfield spent his time with his family. His wife and young 5 year old son. They enjoyed a delicious ham dinner and present for the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birthday. They had a magnificent green pine tree. The sweet smell of pine and sap filled the air as they opened their presents on Christmas morning. Bradley had gotten a new pair of football gloves, a bit stickier than previous years. His son Ben had gotten a football and his wife a pair of diamond earrings which could blind you if the light struck them in the right fashion. After that they had traveled to the local soup kitchen in the afternoon. Handing out soup and bread to the needy bradley had also given the soup kitchen a generous donation in order to supply more food to the needy residents of Orange County. Everyone (tonight at least) would have a nice warm meal in their tummies and a nice place to stay if they had nowhere to go. Christmas is a time to give and view the world where everyone deserves to live without struggle or pain because of something as foolish as greed and money. Now only if everyone felt this way and wanted to help everyone no matter where they lived or what color their skin. Happy Holidays!

Tight End Joseph Askins loves the holidays. Christmas time is his absolute favorite, and this year is no exception. Although he had been used to the cold conditions he faced while he spent two years on the Wraiths, and he had even grown fond of the weather, but Askins is enjoying spending this Christmas in the cool desert of Nevada. During his free time, he is able to go out partying with friends down the strip of Las Vegas, and he can do whatever he wants basically as he has become a superstar in his new hometown of Las Vegas. All of the Legion fans absolutely love the new star, and the Christmas spirit does not change that. Askins spent time this Christmas giving back to his fans by spending time with children in hospitals who look up to him as their hero. He signed memorabilia, took pictures, and just spent genuine fun time with the kids which they absolutely loved. Askins is looking forward to going home right before this season starts to say hello to his family and spend time with them, because once the season begins, he will be focusing all of his energy on the Legion, and he will not be able to spend much time with his family in Arizona.

Mayran Jackson decided to put his efforts towards the under privileged this year. Jackson hosted a sweater, jacket and gloves drive for the homeless. Many of San Jose's faithful Sabercats fans dropped off donations and Jackson plans on turning all of these donations into the Homeless Shelters across town. Jackson even raised enough awareness about the issue to touch a fallen former NSFL standout in Stormblessed. Of course with Stormblessed's play dropping off rapidly every day, Jackson figured it should be no time at all before the former teammate is on the streets looking for a job and a home. Jackson asked the San Jose faithful to help him raise the donations and hopefully have enough left over to help the other NSFL wide receiver. Stormblessed was able to receive a new set of gloves from the donation work, but this has been said to not help him catch any balls anyways so it felt like a little "too little too late" scenario for Stormblessed. Next year hopefully Jackson can raise enough blanket donations and maybe big screen TV boxes to provide Stormblessed with shelter for the cold months in downtown cities where he often hops too. Merry Christmas Stormblessed and we wish you all the best soup kinds at your local shelter!
