And yes that's kind of what I was thinking. But needs to be a bit more nuanced because changing from LB to DL or CB to S shouldn't have the same penalty as changing from DT to QB or TE to kicker.

Agree. You could always just switch positions for free theoretically but not re-locate TPE bc the difference between a WR/CB, CB/S, LB/DL, etc. attributes aren't THAT different (I think).

Also it's worth noting that if we move to version 18 it has a built in penalty for changing from your original position to something else, with some changes being less penalty than others. And there is no way around this.
Shhh. I'm only active sometimes.

Are we really worried about a career ending injury to Mitchell Trubisky? Random Poor regression from Aaron Rodgers? Carson Wentz retiring? Because last time I checked there is a 0% chance that tomorrow Marcus Marioata decides he's done and then never shows up to practice again.

Michael Vick went to prison, jamarcus russell got fat, Vince young never got better. All those guys were franchise players when they were draft, and ended up not playing long for their teams. Vick is an exception as he came back for a second chance, but he only played at an elite level for 3 more seasons after coming back.

You’d need to find a balance between

1. Not having one player going IA or retiring cripple a franchise for a couple (maybe more) seasons
And
2. Not have outrageous barriers for players who want to be a QB. Also the whole realism thing which is important to some people

Ask Derek Carr about random regression in the 2016-2017 season. Ask Matt Ryan about random regression this season. Ask Amari Cooper about random regression.

I’m pretty sure Sam Bradford has a few career ending injuries.

I mean, Im pretty Chris Borland how happy he is with his decision to retire after jack fb a great rookie year. I’m guessing pretty thrilled.

Ask Teddy Bridgewater if his injury was career ending. Because that’s still up in the air.

Trying to compare real life to nsfl in the first place was dumb but in real life you don't get better by doing point tasks.
