Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Bzerkap - 05-30-2017 1. With the "Mass and Ass" craze currently storming the Saints organization in the NFL, why did you decide on the NSFL instead of the NFL? 2. Do you think the difficulty in taking you down will lead to a Gronk-like level of injuries? (Opponents hitting you low) 3. Why do you like your steaks medium-rare and why is this the only correct answer? 4. When your career ends, what do you plan on pursuing? 5. Out of any lineman in this draft, who would you most like to run behind? Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Jiggly_333 - 05-30-2017 (05-30-2017, 09:44 PM)Jogn Wrote:Critics say that you have a habit of ignoring the percentages and running into danger screaming your name, any comment? One of the biggest things that I learned in my statistics class is that percentages are just numbers. Correlation does not equal causation. Just because most running backs don't gain too much yardage up the gut, that doesn't mean that I won't. I don't think that I am "most running backs" and that sort of danger is my specialty. Screaming my name? I don't really know about that, but I don't really pay attention to the sounds my mouth makes as I plow through the line, so maybe I do that. (05-30-2017, 09:44 PM)Jogn Wrote:You're not the only RB from Oregon in this draft - how was your experience with Reg Mackworthy?Of course, Reg is a great guy, but he's actually coming out State, not University. But if you mean out of the state of Oregon, I would definitely say that he's a competitor. He likes to go fast. Not exactly someone who I would think would be able to take a hit, but I think he makes up for that in his quickness. (05-30-2017, 09:44 PM)Jogn Wrote:Do you think Reg's solid performance in the preseason Bowl game helps or hurts your own draft stock? Teams could be thinking of you as the next one.I don't like to put my own success into the frame of others, especially with someone so different than me as Reg. I definitely think that there's a possibility that it could help me, making room for more RBs in the draft after he's picked early; but I don't think he has too much of an affect on my own standing. (05-30-2017, 09:44 PM)Jogn Wrote:I know that it never rains at Autzen Stadium, but do you think your experience in the more...liquid sunshine is an important important trait for the good-weather challenged NSFC teams to consider?I think growing up in the snows of the Midwest and playing my college ball in the sun of the PAC-12 has really set me up for most any kind of weather, whether it be snow, rain, heat, cold, or even a perfect day. (05-30-2017, 09:44 PM)Jogn Wrote:I'm sure there'll be a heated competition to be the player with the most jerseys sold. What will put you in the running?I think that what I like to see is someone who relates to me and my story. There are a lot of kids out there struggling with depression, being an outcast, or, yes, just being overweight. I want to show them that there is hope in the world and that they should keep going. I won't be selling jerseys with my flash or my flair, I want to sell them through good play and being an even better person. With the "Mass and Ass" craze currently storming the Saints organization in the NFL, why did you decide on the NSFL instead of the NFL?I felt that the NSFL had more to offer me. I think that the Saints organization is set with Drew Brees for at least a few more years and I wouldn't want to infringe on his situation. The NSFL is filled with new teams looking for players to help shape their identities and I saw it as an exciting opportunity to make my mark. (05-30-2017, 10:11 PM)Bzerkap Wrote:2. Do you think the difficulty in taking you down will lead to a Gronk-like level of injuries? (Opponents hitting you low)I've always prided myself most on the strength of my legs. If I wasn't as big as I was, I might've been a kicker. I have seen some great players go down due to leg injuries, players like Bo Jackson and Christian Okoye, but I think that I'm sturdy enough to keep going. Knees are definitely a concern for running backs, but that's why I wear that tape every game to try to keep everything in place and out of risk. (05-30-2017, 10:11 PM)Bzerkap Wrote:3. Why do you like your steaks medium-rare and why is this the only correct answer? You know, I don't actually eat too much steak or beef in general. I stick with birds and fish. I love chicken and turkey and I never turn down a nice cod. My mom raised me that way because of heart disease in our family, but I've sort of just taken it to heart. Sorry that that answer wasn't exactly what you expected, but it's just what I do. (05-30-2017, 10:11 PM)Bzerkap Wrote:4. When your career ends, what do you plan on pursuing?I'd love to go up to the booth. I was a part of a weekly radio show back in high school (strangely enough, it was also with Dakota) and I thought I had a pretty good voice for it. I'd love to do it again when my ride is over. (05-30-2017, 10:11 PM)Bzerkap Wrote:5. Out of any lineman in this draft, who would you most like to run behind?Definitely either Ben Longshaw or Angus Winchester. Ben, because I trust that, as a fellow Chicagoan, he'd have my back and Angus because I feel that his skill-set matches my ability. Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Apache_Chief - 05-31-2017 Hey Leroy, few quick questions for you! 1. Have you given any thought to possibly moving to a more of a fullblack/blocker type role? Or is the luxury of being a RB just too appealing? 2. It's quite common for backs to be expected to catch the ball these days, how comfortable are you with that? 3. Was there a single moment in your life that made you think, "man, I'd love to play football for the rest of my life"? 4. Favorite breakfast cereal? 5. Follow up to that; if you could pick the next toy to be at the bottom if said cereal's box, what would it be? Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Jiggly_333 - 05-31-2017 (05-30-2017, 11:40 PM)Apache_Chief Wrote:Hey Leroy, few quick questions for you!Maybe a John Kuhn type FB, but run blocking has never been my strong-suit. As I said, I like to be in control of the game and the way I do it is by carrying the ball, whether for short yardage or long. (05-30-2017, 11:40 PM)Apache_Chief Wrote:2. It's quite common for backs to be expected to catch the ball these days, how comfortable are you with that?I am very comfortable with that knowledge. Whether I'm comfortable with actually catching? That's something that I haven't really had to do. A lot of my previous schemes were based on a strong run, not much passing involved. I'll work on whatever is important for the team and if my team is a pass first type, I'll get on upping my game. Otherwise, I don't think I'll lose sleep over it. I always like to help my skill set in whatever way I can, but I don't find it necessary at the moment. (05-30-2017, 11:40 PM)Apache_Chief Wrote:3. Was thereĀ a single moment in your life that made you think, "man, I'd love to play football for the rest of my life"?I don't really think there was a "single moment". I think that as I slowly grew more confident in myself, I began to realize that I might actually be able to do something in football. Of course there was a love for the game from an early age, but it was just something I did and watched. Only when I actually realized I could do it, I thought, "Maybe I should." (05-30-2017, 11:40 PM)Apache_Chief Wrote:4. Favorite breakfast cereal?Rice Krispies (05-30-2017, 11:40 PM)Apache_Chief Wrote:5. Follow up to that; if you could pick the next toy to be at the bottom if said cereal's box, what would it be?A pencil eraser. Every pencil I own has a terrible eraser for some reason. Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - evryday - 05-31-2017 Definitely a fan of the player build. What drew you to the power back player type? This league is primarily built on speed, do you think you can keep up? 260 pounds is pretty heavy, what is your off season meal plan like to maintain that? When did you first know you were destined to play running back? Will you be able to catch passes out of the back field or will teams need another option on 3rd and long? Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Dinklburger01 - 05-31-2017 1. Do you consider yourself athletic for your size, or do you think you still have much room to improve in that area? 2. Are you comfortable having a limited role in short yardage and goal line situations to start? 3. What is your TD prediction for your rookie year? 4. How do you plan to make up for coming into the process so late? 5. Do you think the linebackers in this league can take you down? Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Saliva^ - 05-31-2017 I swear there was a VHL legend Leeroy Jenkins lot of times ago. Is that you? Another one from Chicago? Why you all running away from that city? Are you ok to be drafted to a team where GM's player is an RB? Are you ok to be drafted lower than 100th pick? Did you know the Oregon State has Portland Winterhawks team? Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - Jiggly_333 - 05-31-2017 (05-31-2017, 07:39 AM)evryday Wrote:Definitely a fan of the player build. What drew you to the power back player type?(Real answer) I like the idea of an attacker that will go out of his way to hit. I like it in probably every sport where that option's available. The biggest influence was the recent resurgence of the Power Back archetype in the NFL, bu it's an old concept going back to before the forward pass was invented. It's a large part of the history of the NFL and I feel that that kind of rusher can still make it in the league today. (05-31-2017, 07:39 AM)evryday Wrote:This league is primarily built on speed, do you think you can keep up?Of course speed is a very big part of a running back's game, but when you don't have one thing, you compensate with another. I think that my strength and refusal to quit are the major components of my game that can do just that. (05-31-2017, 07:39 AM)evryday Wrote:260 pounds is pretty heavy, what is your off season meal plan like to maintain that?A lot of chicken. (05-31-2017, 07:39 AM)evryday Wrote:When did you first know you were destined to play running back?In Freshman year when I was still a linebacker, someone fumbled at around our 30. I picked it up and ran with it. I had to face down the entire offense, but I broke through every tackle and took it to the house. I knew from that moment that I could be on that offensive side. (05-31-2017, 07:39 AM)evryday Wrote:Will you be able to catch passes out of the back field or will teams need another option on 3rd and long? You can always run it on third and long! But seriously, I have said that I'm looking into working on my receiving abilities, but only if that's what the team needs. Leroy Jenkins Pre-Draft Presser - dave - 05-31-2017 1.
