(S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - HENDRIX - 03-16-2018 Tonight in Baltimore, on the last day of the regular season, the Yellowknife Wraiths and Baltimore Hawks will be playing for the right to travel to Philly for the NSFC championship game. The NSFC is a tough division with three good teams battling for two playoffs spots, so it was always a guarantee one of the teams would be heading to the golf course instead of the playoffs. Way back in week 3, the Wraiths took care of the Hawks 34-14 up in Canada. Since then, both teams have had up and down performances. For the Hawks they have been in this position before. Back in season 4 they lost a heartbreaker to the Liberty on the final day of the regular season that kept them out of the playoffs. There is nothing more frustrating than losing a postseason "play in" game at home to a division rival. Will tonight be the night the Hawks win that crucial game, or will it be some more heartbreak? (166) (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - Dangles13 - 03-16-2018 Rumours are swirling around the Yellowknife Wraiths; with the season going horribly awry, hearsay and conjecture about certain players is abundant. Sources have let it slip that some players are at each other's throats and demanding trades or to be released as they just cannot stomach the team and it's putrid culture. One such altercation that has been in the news lately is the feud between edge rusher, Fuego Wozy and Marcus Kane. After a recent loss the two were apparently bragging about which player was a better one and things spiralled out of control. One player, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that Kane even went so far as to tell management that they "better fucking cut this guy or I will pound his stupid face until it looks just like the shit that this team". If true, Yellowknife has a tough choice ahead of them this off-season as they try to right the ship and get back to the Ultimus. @TheWoZy  (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - JKortesi81 - 03-16-2018 The NSFL has been quite the trying year for any member of the Colorado Yeti. We’re sitting on the precipice of going 0-14, which I’m pretty sure hasn’t been done before. It’s great to make history, I guess. I’m not happy with this season, but I’m happy with how my team has responded to my “CoLOLardo” article. Everyone stepped up even more and dialogue has continued within all of us on how we can fix this mess. Pierno himself knows that his mobile ways just aren’t going to cut it in this league, and he’s looking to changing his game to help the team. I know that things look dim, but right now it’s really about getting the right players on this team that will be active and get the TPE needed to help us compete. Changes are coming to the Yeti, and while it may not seem like it right now, things are looking up. (156) (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - CDub2 - 03-16-2018 Well, if you can be out of ideas, so can I. It would be easy to talk about how bad the yeti have been this season. It doesn’t look they will be able to avoid the 0-14 season this year. This is a new Lowe for the franchise. If anyone, I would have expected the New Orleand Second Line to be 0-14 this season because of the retirement drama and the fact that their logo, name, and colours are got garbage. But that’s besides the point. It’s interesting because the Yeti have plenty of good young pieces, they just can’t put it all together. Many of my Python brothers have gone to the Yeti so I know they’re active and passionate, and yet the Yeti and barely treading water. It sucks to see, for the entire league because now nobody wants to go there if the keep losing to Barney and his Second Line friends. 156 words (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - AwkwardCowboy - 03-16-2018 I'm brand new so let me lay down some knowledge about that. I don't know about all the other teams, but the GM's on Kansas City have been the absolute best about explaining all my stupid questions about how stuff works around here. Explaining little tidbits about the sim, like I wasn't really sure how to measure success as a DB at first. I got 0 tackles that must be bad? "Nah, that's good, you have to give up catches to get tackles." Huh, I guess that makes sense. What to do with my money and where to spec TPE to be most efficient? I don't know, but I like that I have the option of like "Take recommended" vs go my own way. Or now the draft, I have NO idea what the 'culture' of these other teams is like, but they've been able to help me out. Sidebar: No, not afraid of going to the 0-14 meme team. I'm a Lions fan, I'm already on that train in real life, it would just be right to do it in the sim too <3 (185) (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - majesiu - 03-16-2018 ![]() I hope this counts, if not please pm cause 2 items definition is kind of moot for me - is render, team logo, stats from season and player nickname enough? (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - Toasty - 03-16-2018 I want to start of and say Congrats to the Portland Pythons who finished the DSFL with the best record. I joint late but feel like I helped a lot. I average five tackles a game, so thirty-five tackles, two sacks, a pick and three pass deflections in seven games. I am prepping for our playoff match against the Kansas City Coyotes. I believe that we could make a big run in the playoffs this year and only time we have beat the Kansas City Coyotes is at home which is what we got through out the playoffs and the Portland Pythons are undefeated at home this season. They also got a new Free Safety in William Harrison, who has been balling out the past three games. They also got a very talented Defensive End in Zach Skinner. They got a Wide Receiver by the name of Mark Grau who is tied for first in the league in receiving Touchdowns. I really like how this team looks and they will make a huge run in the Playoffs. I the end expect the Pythons to bring home the championship to send General Manager PDXBaller out of Portland into want ever he decides to do next and Co-General Manager PFTN will have a solid team for Season 8. Just think about it if the Pythons win the Championship, PDX would be the hero in Portland once again. ![]() ![]() Code: 237 Words (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - timeconsumer - 03-16-2018 I really wish Angus Winchester could win defensive player of the year once. After a really strong start to his career as an offensive linemen he never really lived up to that level ever again. It wasn't for lack of trying, or a bad fit in a certain scheme. Angus Winchester is a really hard working, talented player in the perfect defense for him and he elevates his team to elite levels. But it is just never quite enough. Last season he was edged out by coverage specialist Harrif Ernston. This season it's looking like Antoine Delacour is going to be the league's #1 defender. Although he led the league in sacks last season and tied San Jose DT Dan Miller for the sack lead this season it still doesn't look like it will be enough. There may come a day before Angus hangs up the cleats for good where he can claim he was the greatest defender for 14 short weeks, but this doesn't look like the season. Maybe next year. (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - speculadora - 03-16-2018 Did anybody see this season coming from the Portland Pythons? The team made a gamble prior to the draft, trading a first round pick for two later picks in hopes that the class was a deep one. Instead they were left with just one pick in a draft that appeared to be thin. The start of their turnaround was hitting a home run with that pick in the form of "Cowboy" Cole McCoy. The quarterback gave the Pythons a player to build around and things fell in place from there. They grabbed receiver Mark Grau off of waivers and he was a stud, finishing tied for first in the DSFL in receiving touchdowns. They were able to get cornerback Joel Shroeder in a deal with Tijuana and turned him into an impact defender and defensive player of the year candidate. Those players were enough to bring Portland another winning season, but the late-season additions of Zach Skinner, Mason Brown, and William H. Harrison have made the Portland defense a fearsome unit. Despite playing Kansas City and San Antonio (twice) in the final three games of their season, the Pythons allowed just 23 total points and made a surprising move to the top of the overall standings. With home field advantage secured throughout the playoffs, the Pythons are looking to avenge last season's painful Ultimini loss to Palm Beach. (S6) - Weekend PT 5 - Out of Ideas - manicmav36 - 03-16-2018 The Baltimore Hawks finished season 6 with yet another heart-breaker. In a season that was eerily reminiscent of season 4, which saw the Hawks lose at home to the Philadelphia Liberty in week 14 to be eliminated from playoff contention. This season, despite a solid season that saw many standout performances, the Hawks fell to the Yellowknife Wraiths in week 14 to once again be eliminated from playoff contention. There are many positive things to build on for next year, however. First off, the play of two defensive newcomers, linebackers Goodson and Roenick made a name for themselves, with Roenick being a easy finalist for defensive rookie of the year. Cornerback Antoine Delacour is a front-runner for defensive back of the year after leading the league in passes defended, as well as finishing with 5 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns. Avon Blocksdale threw the second-most touchdowns, tied for the least interceptions, and had the second-highest quarterback rating. Owen Taylor set a new single season record for rushing yards. However, despite all of these fantastic performances, the team just couldn’t put it all together. Next year, though, will be much different. |
