And I do believe he will honor his contract. I can say that if I were Liberty GM at the time, the price would have been significantly higher though. While I will agree that his value is higher than Liberty netted from this trade, do you think you could have actually gotten more from any other team before Friday when trade deadline hits? Well personally, I would have kept him and tried to win again this year. Considering we are only 1 game out of first place and with a home game remaining against the team we are 1 behind. However, he decided to trade himself and possibly gave his new team a huge advantage contingency. I'd happily have taken the Yeti S9 1, S10 1, and S10 2. The issue is not only did we include our own S9 1, which why the hell would a team committed to rebuilding do, but we also said if Kamaka opts out, Yeti keep their S10 1. So if we tank the rest of this season, Yeti pass us in the standings, and somehow end up with a better S9 1 pick out of this trade. Then Kamaka opts out, so they keep their S10 1. Then Kamaka resigns with the Yeti. So we would net a S10 2 in exchange for moving down in the S9 1st round and Kamaka. I mean that isn't even remotely fair. I would agree with everything you just said (and I hate saying that). I am not sure why he was allowed to administer his own trade after stepping down as GM, even if it wasn't public knowledge yet. And while I see why COL wanted that contingency is place, the wording of it is very nondescript which is brilliant if intentional. I will say that PDX does have a sense of integrity to him so hopefully this contingency is a non-issue. PHI/COL - Molarpistols - 06-12-2018 Was it actually PDX that negotiated this? Or was it Kolbe? Either way, I'm jealous of what deals look like without Otter Tax. PHI/COL - adam2552 - 06-12-2018 (06-12-2018, 02:34 PM)Molarpistols Wrote:Was it actually PDX that negotiated this? Or was it Kolbe? It is my understanding from parties involved that PDX was the sole negotiator of this trade on the Philly side. PHI/COL - Molarpistols - 06-12-2018 I trust that PDX wasn't being shady intentionally. But that may come up in the next rules summit. A little fishy that somebody has the ability to negotiate their own trade. Seems some obvious chances at being a total dick to your former team. Unfortunately, my laptop died yesterday during negotiations, so I wasn't able to reach out to others. By the time I had a new one, PDX had messaged me with the details of the trade that were significantly better than what BAL or OC were willing to give up, and I knew without having to ask that NOLA had basically nothing to offer for picks and didn't want to give up young talent (BAL had offered 2 2nds, which would both be later in the round than COL, obviously), so I agreed to the trade. My only interaction with Meme was to confirm my acceptance as PDX was no longer allowed to formally accept the trade, having already stepped down. I should have reached out to YKW, and wanted to, but the laptop thing kinda fucked me. He felt it was the best we could get, and based on what I had seen, I believed him. If he is still with the yeti for s10 no matter if it's a new contract or what it would count as opting in, and would be enforced as such PHI/COL - AzhekAhriman - 06-12-2018 I'm pretty sure Kolbe made this deal not PDX. Can't say for sure but that was my understanding of it.
