(S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - bovovovo - 07-09-2018 Darren Smallwood is having a hall of famer career thus far, especially if he continues to thrive in this latter half of his career. Smallwood is seeing his career be re-vitalized in New Orleans, winning the league MVP, offensive player of the year, and RB of the year awards last season (in addition to another one or two that I am forgetting). It would appear that the partnership between Smallwood and the New Orleans offensive coaching staff is a match made in heaven, as Smallwood was by far the most efficient RB last season, and he set two new NSFL records. With Smallwood entering regression just one year after his MVP and career - peak year, the entire league is watching to see if Smallwood and the New Orleans offense can repeat, or if it was just a flash in the pan. Should Smallwood be able to keep up his production even into regression, I believe he should be considered for the HOF. I think he may be able to squeeze in as is, but with even just a few more top tier producing seasons under his belt and I think he becomes a hall of fame lock. Keep your eyes peeled on Smallwood, he's just getting started. The 99th pick in the S1 Draft, Tweed was the workhorse back in Colorado for six seasons, becoming the third highest rusher in league history and one of the highest TPE earners in league history. After reaching the Ultimus game in its inaugural season, Tweed and the Yeti failed to recreate that success, and despite the team going through a long and arduous rebuild, Tweed stuck around and continued to carry the rock for the team on and off the field, serving as the bell cow and as a captain. In season 6, Tweed and the Yeti split paths, with the team looking to get younger quickly. Tweed was sent off to Yellowknife and underwent a radical career change to playing linebacker. Despite the challenge of this change, Tweed excelled at it, winning several defensive awards in his second season as a linebacker as well as finally obtaining the elusive Ultimus trophy. With his absurd amount of TPE, we might not see Tweed retire any time soon, but when he does, he will go down as one of the better linebackers in history and as one of the greatest running backs to ever play. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - Esa77 - 07-09-2018 Reg Mackworthy! ![]() (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - Jiggly_333 - 07-09-2018 I've said this before, but Leroy Jenkins deserves a shot at the Hall. Yes, his career was short, but Barry Sanders' career was short too and he got in! Oh, he broke records? Bad example. Look, there's one thing to be good and there's another thing to be innovative. While Leroy never truly took off from the backfield, he was one of the best blockers in the early NSFL, getting more pancakes and less sacks allowed than most linemen in his first two seasons. He was a part of the group that popularized "RB by committee" in this league and by the end of his career he was beginning to show that Power Backs could do much more than punch in TDs at the end of drives, he could catch the ball too. While a player like Leroy nowadays shouldn't really be considered, the fact that he was consistently on the cutting of how a player like him can play is what should give him credibility. And all of this isn't even considering his leadership in the locker room and his later (one-season) success with the Chicago Blues (and later failure, but whatever). Leroy should be in the Hall because he was an innovator in the Wild Wild West of S1-S4. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - kckolbe - 07-09-2018 My pick for the Hall of Fame is Antoine Delacour @37thchamber. I know I’m only required to list one stat, but for a talent like this, I’ll list two. Number of position changes: Zero. Cornerback sucked for the first 6 seasons of Delacour’s career. Not only was everything that should have mattered about the position’s performance completely meaningless (even speed rarely seemed to matter), but the worst part was that the most important stats for cornerbacks, like catches, yards, and touchdowns allowed, weren’t even tracked (except for half of season 4). Number of times left team to chase rings or due to locker room cancer: Zero. Not once, through out his entire career, did Delacour leave his original team of Baltimore. To be fair, it was the perfect team to be on. Their GM disappeared in the first season as they went on to tie for worst team in the league, they had TWO TPE scandals the next season, which still didn’t get them a ring, something that has yet to happen. In addition, he had the honor of being on the first team to be the target of basically a bullying campaign. In short, Delacour has shown tremendous loyalty and consistency despite being on the shit end of team and position. Between that and being one of the better players in the league, Delacour is the least arguable Hall of Fame nominee. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - dub - 07-09-2018 King Bronko was on the first three NSFL Championship teams, a backup in the first and then a champion in the second, completing 18/29 passes for 238 yards and a score for the second title. Then another championship in season 3, tossing 4 scores in a 49-12 romp by the Outlaws and being named Offensive Player of the Game. Bronko and Reg Mackworthy are synonymous with championships in the first years of the NSFL. In S5, Bronko had his best season ever, tossing 44 TD's to just 18 INT and 5000 yards, leading a resurgent Outlaw team into the playoffs, only to lose in the semifinals to the eventual champion Otters. In S7, Bronko led the Outlaws again into the maw of the Otters and a playoff loss, his career nemesis Boss besting him again. Bronko, despite playing with Mackworthy all this time, never had a WR with a better OVR rating than 88. Yes, since S3, Bronko is 0-3 in playoff appearances. Yes, he's part of a rebuild on the Outlaws and will not be challenging for a fourth title. But there was no QB more associated with titles in the early days of the NSFL than the King. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - Muford - 07-09-2018 One player that without a doubt should make the Hall of Fame is none other than Jayce Tuck. That man has been a man on a mission since day one of the NSFL. He came in day in and day out and worked harder than anybody else, and has put in over ten times the amount of hours in the gym as the next person. He has been on three teams, winning three titles with Arizona, and one in Yellowknife. His third team, the New Orleans Second Line, were looking to boost their defensive line, and even if Tuck might have lost a step he will be a force still. He is in the top 10 in many categories for a defensive end, and even has the single season record of sacks in a season. Jayce Tuck has had some off-field issues, according to some people, but none the less this man produces on the field. No matter what happens, once this man retires he needs to be first ballot for stats alone. Jayce Tuck is going to be a great force to reckon with until the day he retires, and even then, if he was to come back years later he would still dominate. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - GoonerBear - 07-10-2018 How are we ever going to exclude Bradley Westfield of Orange County from the Hall of Fame? The committee's been stingy as of late, though I don't know they can legitimately exclude the League's all-time leader in receiving yards, touchdowns and the receiver of the longest pass in NSFL history. Going from a 72nd overall pick in the inaugural NSFL Draft to the greatest wide receiver to date ought to mean more than enough to the Hall committee. Westfield also leads League history in punt return yards and touchdowns, shares the longest punt return in history and the longest kickoff return in history. And Westfield still has plenty of pep in his step to stretch his records even further. Although he has started regression as of last season, his user @Bwestfield has continued to turn up and maintain a powerful Orange County team as GM, bringing home three Ultimus trophies on top of his player's achievements, which includes numerous Pro Bowl nominations since the League's inception, S6 GM of the Year and S3, S5 and S6 Wide Receiver of the Year. Forming the receiving end of a powerful duo with him and Mike Boss, he should be a first-ballot lock. The fans should complain if he's not in first try and riot if he's allowed to fall off the ballot. (S9) - PT 1 - Hall of Fame - Official DT - 07-10-2018 ![]() |
