(S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - TheWoZy - 07-13-2018 ![]() (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - PDXBaller - 07-13-2018 Eli Kamaka doesn't do any crazy training as a part of the NSFL season. He’s a big fan of the old school, but he does recognize that sometimes you need to try to do things better and that working smarter not harder is the key to longevity. Kamaka has been training with a special strength and conditioning coach from Colorado over the off season. In the past he's travelled all around the world to get acclimated to different conditions, but this off season he decided to stick to training in Colorado since it provided a good environment already. Kamaka has also started to do cryogenic treatments to help with recovery and it's helped him push his endurance harder than ever before. He obviously keeps up with his agility exercises too to maintain some semblance of agility and speed in the off season. Kamaka is ready for the next season to start and to be able to play in Colorado for a full season. (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - evryday - 07-13-2018 Shannon Hobbs is preparing for his first season in the DSFL by training in Muck City, Florida. This is where guys like Fred Taylor and Santonio Holmes started their path to the NFL. Every winter, they set the sugar cane leaves on fire before harvesting the cane. This forces the rabbits to scatter and begins the real training. Hobbs, and several athletes from all over the country, must brave the smoke and flames to catch the rabbits. This place is a hotbed for training all types of athletes; football players, basketball players, even hockey players, travel from far and wide to get in on the action. It is the ultimate test in speed, agility, and acceleration. For some, this is a great way to train, for others, this is a way to make a living, and what a living it is. The median income of Muck City is about $27,000 but this "job" pays three bucks per rabbit caught. Some bring BB guns, some bring their dogs, but all of them bring hard work and determination. (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - RedCydranth - 07-14-2018 Marc has been known throughout his career to travel to remote locations to train rigorously in harsh environs and practice strange techniques. He's kept most of these practices under wraps, but recently he allowed a camera crew to follow him to Brunei where he trains with their national guard. They have a rigorous physical regimen that required waking up at 9AM, eating a hearty breakfast, jogging for 20 minutes before they study and relax until noon where they practice firearms training for 3 hours and then are free to use the remainder of their day for personal use. It may not sound exhausting or demanding, but that is because it's not. It's Brunei, who is gonna invade? If they do, it's Brunei, they're not gonna thwart anyone. they know this. So, why does Spector go there to train? Because he's lazy and he wants people to think he's doing some strange jungle training when he's really just kind of loafing off. How is it, then, that he is is such great shape? That's really the mystery, isn't it? (178 words) (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Toasty - 07-14-2018 Everyday Mason Brown’s workout starts at 6:15 with a 52.75 mile run from his farm to a bagel shop in town on Prairie Street, called Dine and Fine, there he orders his usual of a large bagel with raspberry jelly and a large 24 oz caramel latte. Then he starts to run back to the farm, but once he gets 3 miles out of town he needs to stop to take a piss. When he gets back to the farm it is near 10 am. Then he goes to the weight room in his basement and does 50 bench presses at 215 lbs. Then he squats at 235 lbs, and then goes on another run of 3 miles to get his mail. When he gets home he does 150 sit-ups, 150 push-ups, 75 lunges each leg. Then he eats a small lunch. Then he goes outside to his tractor tire. This is no tractor tire, it is two 4 wheel drive tractor tires fused together and then he carries it for a quarter of mile and then flips it for a quarter of a mile, and does that for 2 miles. When he returns home he sits down and watch 2 hours of film and plays with daughters for a hour. After they go to bed he goes into the basement and works on his reflexes with a reflex ball, but he jerry rigged a launcher for his reflex balls so they are launched every 3 seconds. He does this for a half an hour. He catches a total of 540 reflex balls. Then he goes to sleep and repeats. This has put a giant strain on his marriage and he does all of this so hopefully ine day he can win DPotY and out perform Angus Winchester. However, now 8 years into his career, his primary focus these day is longevity. Yellowknife’s top WR has made it known that he will be hanging up his boots after the S10 season is over, but that still leaves 2 seasons to play and he is dead-set on staying healthy through that duration. And that means a lot of changes on the practice field. NSFL athletes are trained to push their bodies to the limit. They often spend long days on the field, running schemes and drills, and evenings in the team gym. For older athletes, though. They have to be careful not to push themselves too far or all that extra time could backfire. So, Kennedy mostly sticks to the essentials, making sure not to lose sight of his own limitations. Despite this, he’s managed to remain impressively effective on the field, hanging in there with some of the quickest and best WRs in the game today. Experts expected him to take a step back this season, but it’s been hardly noticeable in the pre-season games. Nonetheless, Kennedy remains determined to stay smart about the way he approaches the practice field. 240 Words (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - Trautner - 07-14-2018 Danny Grithead does a series of strenuous workouts every single day in his own house before going to practice at the Kansas City Coyotes facility. Straight out of bed, which is a bench press bench for Grithead, he stretches his arms out to meet the barbell. After doing 20 reps to get warmed up, Grithead heads downstairs, where he curls the milk jug 100 times on each arm before pouring it into his Wheaties, very notably cereal first then milk. After having his breakfast and powering up for the day, Grithead foregoes the car parked in his driveway and instead sprints for 10 miles to the Kansas City facilities. His decision to run in the morning is often dangerous, as he has to run alongside 6 lanes of traffic on the highway, but morning cardio really gets the blood flowing for the rest of the day. With this daily regimen, in addition to training camp, Grithead enters the season in great shape. Code: 162 words (S9) - Weekend PT 1 - Training - twiggin56 - 07-14-2018 During the offseason Barnaby works the personal trainer he has had since the end of his freshman year in high school. his trainer Ryan George who owns Proform works on functional movement, and had a job with the Chicago bears and the buffalo bills at points in his career. George is more of a friend at this point than a trainer as he and Barnaby have grown very close. their workouts consist of lots of band work, in creasing stability throughout the body as well as mobility. barnaby is able to do more than most athletes due to his work with Mr. George. it has been a progressive work since the first session all those years ago at this point. he goes in and uses his knowledge of atheltic trainniig to help the team in the offseason too so that they can be at peak performace by time they need to start winning games again. |
