The NSFL has had a lot happen over the course of its first 8 seasons. Ups and downs and a lot of parity. But there's a few dark marks on the record already that some people were turned off by. One such event was the downfall of the Las Vegas Legion.

Las Vegas once had a franchise in the NSFL. We know them now as the New Orleans Second Line, a proud, respectable and well run organization. But they had a much more humble beginning. Las Vegas was a team run by idiots. From ownership to GMs to coaching. Players were never disciplined, coaches weren't held accountable for terrible play calling and in general nobody in the NSFL ever took the team very seriously. As such, when it came time for free agency, any player who wanted to win would actively avoid going to Sin City. Some GMs had noble intentions to turn the franchise around, but the stigma of failure and stench of terrible ownership couldn't be shook. One by one, GMs came and went failing to attract free agents and keep players longer than 1 or 2 seasons without wanting out. Eventually, players went on strike and outright quit. It caused an outrage across the league. Players in other cities, like Yellowknife, Orange County and Philadelphia looked at these players with disgust. "No loyalty" they thought. "Where's the love for the game?" They asked. But it was those questions that the former Legion players wanted to know too. There was no loyalty from the head office to the team, or the players. There seemed to be no love for the game by ownership to build a solid foundation of a franchise. Tired of being the laughing stock and an easy W on the schedule, they walked out. It was a bold stand. But one that ultimately had to be made. In the wake of "Legiongate" came the resolution. Move the franchise, sell it to better owners and hit the reset button. It wouldn't be long before many cities called to bid on the franchise. New Orleans won the bid and they formed the Second Line. Within 2 years, NOLA has completely shed their Vegas stink and is a contender, has respect across the league and is a destination for any player looking to contribute and be a part of a winning franchise with a solid and strong community in the locker room. Sometimes it takes the complete destruction of something for something better, more beautiful, to be built in its place.

The New York Times, The National Enquirer, The Washington Post, Breitbart. The Noble Scandal hit the world with Fire and Fury and was on the front page of all the previously mentioned periodicals. But what exactly happened? Well to be honest, it's all a big blur involving love, betrayal, and the sexiest, most popular teen in all of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Logan Noble, QB of the Colorado Yeti, affectionately know as, "Bitch Ass" aka Carson Shmyr, had led his team to multiple successful seasons. Yet the entire operation came crashing down when it was discovered he had been claiming TPE he had not worked for and abusing his powers as a higher up in the NSFL. "What?" Cried the Yeti locker room, "How?"

Of course, none of this came as much of a suprise to the community, Shmyr, that sexy god, had been recorded cheating in countless other leagues, but was shockingly accepted into the NSFL. We all see how well that went. So the moral of the story, kids, is to never give people second chances cause all humans are dickheads.

Ok not really, but I think we can all agree that this is one of the top most controversial events, up there with Er's multis and Retire-Gate... both the Sandoval one AND the Legion one.

Written: Must include 200 words. Write about any event in the NSFL's past that has happened. It could be an unlikely champion, a controversial suspension, a record breaking performance, anything of the sort.

Right now I could write about any number of events which have occurred in the NSFL's nearly 14 month existence. They could range from events just before I joined such as the big early controversy regarding the S1 Mock Draft PT which obviously gave an advantage to GM's and HO guessing who was going where.

Then you of course had the dicey OCO/LVL situation where there was allegations of tampering with I think at the time it was bengalsfan's player who was a running back and HFFO who was GM of the Legion at the time.

Of course you had the Clegane/Elway/ situation where he would hold out and not play for any team that wasn't orange county.

You then obviously had the Las Vegas Legion scandal which has been done to death by now.

Las Vegas also had the unfortunate situation of a number of poor hirings before Bovo finally got the nod ahead to relocate and end the misery of a franchise that was the Las Vegas Legion.

Noble's suspension and eventual banning was also a troublesome memory for the league, so too was the ErMurazor situation which led many including myself disillusioned with the league going forward and led to many leaving, including myself juggling the decision too.

Season 3 - Week 13, Las Vegas Legion vs Yellowknife Wraiths

This game was a curb-stomp all the way through. With a 23-0 halftime lead for the Wraiths that continued to snowball, Yellowknife bodied the Legion 50-13 on this occasion.

The focus is on Wraiths QB Brian Orosz, who set the current passer rating record for a single game in NSFL history with a 157.5 rating. For reference, a perfect passer rating is 158.3. Orosz' stat line was literally only a completion here and a yard there away from a perfect rating. Among other factors Orosz met, a perfect rating requires a 77.5% completion rate and 12.5 yards per attempt. Going 23/30 for 374 yards, 5 TD and 0 INT on the night, one more completion and one more yard would have met the mark for the NSFL's first-ever perfect passing game.

Reviewing his play-by-play, his drives were very incisive on passes, looking for short gains until hitting the big one to gain massive ground or score a long-distance touchdown. Even on the drives where they couldn't punch it in, they were close enough to try three field goals, of which they converted two. The Wraiths also had plenty of possession time to spare on their ground game to support the air as well, with the backs combining for 117 yards on 40 attempts and 1 touchdown.

All in all, a team effort helped, though it was still on Orosz to deliver, and on this night, he did, even if it was a hair short of perfection.

@ErMurazor

Once upon a time, a much less annoying and younger Daybe (Brice Boggs) was in the league. As the Wraiths lost and the Outlaws won, Boggs was discouraged. Boggs got frustrated when he realized that all the Outlaws were taking minimum deals and eventually signed Josh Garden. Then the Outlaws went 13-1. Boggs got frustrateder. These Outlaws players always did their PTs! Boggs would scroll through the PT pages whenever they were put up. Time Pest? Damnit! Lucas Leuchly? Argh! Heck! Patrick Pancake? NO! Jaxon Tuck? WHY? Christiano Ronaldo? Eh, he’s a kicker. Who cares. Anyways, Boggs was a devout Outlaw hater. They were just too heckling good, and they were going to be good for a while. So when young Daybe saw that they were all multis, little Daybe got hecked. He probably knew that they were suspicious, but his still feeble mind couldn’t piece together what was happening. When he found out that Jayce Tuck was suspended for one year, the same duration as Logan Noble was for 70 TPE, he got mad. So he eventually stepped down as Yeti GM, for other reasons as well (doing everything cough cough) and Boggs went inactive. Eventually, Boggs had conversation with Rindiee, and joined the league again. Since then, he has been the bane of @White Cornerback and @ADwyer87’s existence

One my favorite events during my time in the NSFL was actually when I played with the Portland Pythons in S4. We were awesome that season, going 11-3, only losing to the stupid ass Chicago Blues 3 times. Portland was the best place for me to land. The locker room was active, and @PDXBaller was the best GM for a new player to really start out with. He’s a big reason I’m still a part of the league today. John Wachter (RIP) and I were an awesome tandem, and we went 1 and 2 in receptions that season. We walked all the way to the Ultimini and won it all. I have a lot of fond memories of that season, going into war with guys like Cameron Taylor, Andreas Waiters, Norman Bagwell, John Christ at QB. Most of those guys (I think) are gone now, but that magical season really is what propelled me into the NSFL. I was skeptical of if I’d be able to do two sim leagues (the other being the SHL, and of course now I do 4 of them anyway) and this experience really made it so that I’d be sticking around. This of course lead to being picked first overall in the NSFL Draft by Colorado, which was another awesome event in my sim life. So yeah, the S4 Pythons were the best to me. Love them. (233)

I have not been in the league for the long time coming here after the start of the S6 and being one of the season 7 waiver pickups so I do not have as many stories as other players. Seriously it is a start of the new season, new guys joining and dwelling in the past is something I would rather avoid and focus on the future, but since we are here I really loved my initial run with the Marshalls. Back in the time ot was still the team of current Arizona Outlaws GMs - run_CMC and Roly - they were really amazing in that role and build a juggrnaught that resulted in my so far only league title in the sim leagues - the glorious Ultimini Bowl. We had marvelous defense at every single position - safeties and cornerbacks, defensive tackles and defensive ends were superb too. Linebackers were great. But our running game was even better and we had great combo of Quarterbacks too with passing maestro Ryan Applehort and mobile QB Mike Vick that was enough to win the DSFL playoffs of the season 6. Every since I'm yet to not play all of the games in the season including postseason, but falling short both with Orange Country Otters in S7 and New Orleans Second Line in season 7. Hopefully this trend will change up soon.

I've been part of the League ever since season 1. I've seen all the crap that happened: the Noble TPE saga, the Outlaws multis, the Legion mass retirement. It even seems like this kind of stuff is following me around, since I was on the Yeti when Noble cheated, I won an Ultimus with all the Outlaws clones and I was part of the Legion mass retirement, even if that didn't officially work for whatever reason. From what I read around the forums, people pretty much ridicule that event, like it was a dumbass thing to do. I guess it seems that way. But for me, it was just a way to show how sick I was of all the bullshit happening on the league. It wasn't my first sim league and I've dealt with my load of crap but to see so much cheating and so much drama every time I logged in really made it difficult for me to stay invested. I saw my retirement and the one of my fellow Legion players as a way to force the league into seeing that it was really going in the wrong direction, and to take action to correct that. I have no clue if it succeeded but coming back now after many seasons of inactivity, the toxicity that was at the very core of the league when I left seems to be gone for the most part.
