I've given up on the Austin Copperheads ever being good for the first half of the season. It seems that year after year we suck the first six or so weeks, and then the moment the trade deadline hits we become one of the most formidable teams in the league. I don't have any idea why this happens or what we can do to change it - its totally random. This season for example, we've lost multiple games where we've tested both before and after the game as favorites. San Jose in Week 1 we were between 70% and 80% against. Honolulu in Week 5 we were 65% or so against. Those are two games that a team with playoff aspirations has to bring home wins during. We just didn't handle business appropriately I guess. I can't attribute our early season struggles to a particular player struggling, but I can say that if that bum Colt Mendoza actually lived up to his draft stock we might be in a decent position. Dude is an absolute scrub. Can't intercept a pass for a million bucks. That being said Mendoza's presence on the team has led to a career revival for Dermot Lavelle Jr., however thats less exciting than him actually being good in my book.

As a member of Sarasota, I think the Sailfish are an easy choice for this task. Heading into the season I think most people, myself included would have placed us fighting for a playoff spot in the NSFC. At the time of writing this we are now 6-1 and look like we’ll be fighting with Colorado for the top spot all season. The game we just played in which we lost, was very close but the offense fell apart in the second half so we narrowly could have been a clean 7-0. I’m oblivious on the technical/strategic side of things so I’m not sure what’s gone into this run so far. Our team is only ranked 8th in total TPE, offense being 4th and defense being 8th. Despite this we have the lowest points scored against us in the league and by a sizeable amount. Currently 96 after seven games and the next lowest is 112. That averages to about 14 points a game against which is insane. Honestly I would guess that we’re overperforming but I don’t know how to look into that. If we can continue to keep opposing teams to a mere 14 points per game it’s going to give us huge success and a great chance to win playoffs.

I think a team who is suddenly showing up with some lacking performance this year is Orange County. This was a team that we all knew wasn't in its prime, yet we sstill expected them to be the perennial contenders that they always are. Yet this season sitting at 3-4 it looks like this could be the first time they miss the playoffs since, ever. Yes OCO has never missed the playoffs at all, not a single time, since the beginning of the league. I know they had a few important roster changes but overall it's weird that they have performed so poorly again. Yes Armstrong is heavily regressed and in his final season but he still is a very viable QB option and not that far off in build from his MVP seasons. Yet the offense is still struggling to move the ball. They are 7th in the league in points and yards. Running back Nakamura has been doing fine so far so I'm not sure it's the running game, which means the passing game is probably the biggest part of the struggle. I try not to put too much stock into passer rating because I think it's a stupid metric yet that's where Armstrong is putting up a career worst performance. He's throwing more INTs than normal which isn't really all that big a deal in my opinion (gunslingers baby) but the yards per attempt is well below his normal. I hate to try and lay the blame solely at his feet though, I imagine some of the problem lies in the supporting cast, the scheme or just a good ol fashioned sim fucking. We all know how that one goes right? I still don't put it past the Otters to organize a mid season comeback and finish 1 or 2 in the conference but their normal spot at 1 or 2 in the league looks like they might not be in it this season. In the end though we all know they'll be back in that spot sooner rather than later, this is the otters after all.

Baltimore Hawks have been a team people are fading for little to no reason. They're building something absolutely fantastic and it is going unnoticed. Last year they narrowly missed the playoffs and this year they have been consistently competitive at home and on the road. The team is led by a fantastic pair of GM's and the base of the team is young and earning really well. Amidships, Tyler Montain, is a beast on the streets and a freak in the heat. He is earning like a motherf#$%er and is a pivotal piece to this team. Two major call ups next year are Doug Howlett, stud WR and M. Bowie on the opposite side of the field. Both will be fantastic pieces for this team and also that QB Fujiwara, what a stud. Next year she'll be a fucking monster more than she is now. No. Doubt. If Baltimore Hawks do not make playoffs this year I will be surprised but can understand that it's competitive in the entire league. If they miss the playoffs next year? I will be completely shocked.  Keep your eyes on this space, it's only going up from here. Invest now in Baltimore and thank me later when you're rolling in your money cellar and swimming around like scrooge Mc Duck

Entering the season, the Philadelphia Liberty’s stock was valued at slightly above average, priced at just over $1.05 million. In week 1, they had a home matchup against the Ultimus winning Yellowknife Wraiths. The Wraiths had the highest stock value in the league, and had just lost franchise QB Cooter Bigsby to retirement, and had a number of other players hit with regression. Between that and how important home field is in the sim, the Liberty were looking like a good stock to buy due to the upside presented by a potential win over the Wraiths. While the Liberty fought hard, their late game comeback attempt fell short inside the Wraiths 10 yard line, and they walked away with a 6 point loss. Since then, things have only gotten worse for the Liberty, who have extended their winless stretch to start the season to 7 games. This includes a blowout loss at the previously last ranked Chicago Butchers. The Liberty’s stock has fallen all the way under $650k, lowest in the league. Looking ahead, they have to be seen as one of the most promising stocks to buy. With such a low price point, the risk is greatly diminished, and even a single win should send their stock price soaring. And the reasons for optimism are there, beginning with QB Brock Phoenix, who has struggled so far this season, but is just entering his prime and can be expected to turn things around.

Written Option: After four weeks of league action (and one week of the league down under), some teams’ stocks are flying high while others have been driven low unexpectedly. In 200 words, discuss a particular team or player and demonstrate how their hypothetical stock has risen or fallen since the start of the season. Is the team facing unexpected issues or a flurry of success? Has the player regressed unexpectedly on the field or have they taken a step forward?

the austin copperheads truly suck cock so you should definetly buy as much of their stock as possible this season, after all expansion draft might takeaway alot of their bums and make their team better next season. The copperheads such this year because their gms are the worst in the league and such their stock will keep on keeping on falling down. Easton cole couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery yet hes supposed to run the wishbone offense that is the copperheads vertical scheme, not likely, sell all stonks. Mako Mendonca is a huge bum and cant even fall forward for a year, hence hes retiring, SELL ALL AUSTIN STONKS

net gaines is a piss poor wide receiver, tidwell is retiring and the other guy is an anime character, sell all your austin stonks next season, buy them all now true stonks

their defense has carolinaisbestbbq so thats out of the question and lavelle is 5,000 years old by now so thats another con in that column, the whole team has regressed now so they are the big SUCK, buy all ur austin stonks as fast as possible and look to sell them for S25 W1 where austin will win every regular season game in history, book it stonks, trust my advice im a big wig at the stonks firm known around the world
