Oh man! I can't believe we are already at the halfway point of Season 27! Just like in other leagues, at the halfway point, the award races start to solidify with a list of strong candidates that can win each award. The award that I am focusing on today is the league MVP. This is the most coveted and highest honor any player can receive in a given year. For this season, I believe that my teammate, Ben Slothlisberger of the New Orleans Second Line, is the most deserving of this award. I say that because he is the main reason that, despite the iffy start due to the sim's randomness and change, NOLA is still alive for the playoff race. In addition, his stats this season are off the charts; he is second in QB rating, first in passing yards, 3rd in touchdowns, 1st in interceptions given away, 5th in completion percentage, and number 1 in touchdown to interception ratio. In addition, he is a great leader and stabilizing presence in the locker room to help calm us down and guide through this difficult season. Thus, I believe that all these factors should allow Ben to be awarded with the MVP!

Ben Slothlisberger should be the quarterback of the year and the most valuable player this season. Voters always debate the merits of volume versus efficiency, but Slothlisberger has both. He has led the New Orleans Second Line team this season through surprisingly bad play by their once stellar defense. Slothlisberger leads the league in passing yards with 3375, despite being eighth in pass attempts and tenth in completions. How? By being incredibly effective as a deep passer. He is averaging over twelve and a half yards per completion, evidence of his prowess in the intermediary and deep passing game. In addition to his league leading yardage, Slothlisberger has been allergic to turnovers. His four interceptions is easily the best mark in the league, and he is the only QB with an INT% under 1%, throwing interceptions on 0.94% of his throws. His low turnover amounts are not due to him being overly cautious: he has thrown the ball downfield and has also thrown for the second most touchdowns in the league, with 23. His ridiculous touchdown to interception ratio is 5.75, miles ahead of second place O’Donnell (3.33). He has made his living throwing outside to the receivers and over the middle to the TEs. He has a very low checkdown percentage, throwing only 10% (27/269) of his completions to running backs and full backs. He could very possibly go for 5000 yards and have three or four receivers over one thousand. Sloth for MVP!
