RE: (S28) PT1 - Draft Day - KamiCommie - 04-04-2021 For my draft day you are gonna have to go all the way back to Season 22, back when I was on the Tijuana Luchadores. I was overlooked from the beginning, not even being drafted until the 92nd pick of the 11th round in the Developmental Football Simulation League Draft. Using that as motivation, I went on to win the defensive game ball in the Ultimini Championship in the 2037 season, as well as setting two franchise records during my time there. Despite having two pick sixes in a single game with a combined interception return yardage of 113 yards, I was screwed over in Performance of the Year voting. This carried over into the International Simulation Football League, then the National Simulation Football League, where I was drafted in the late rounds once again. I was picked up by the Yellowknife Wraiths in the 7th round with the 83rd pick. With this added poster board material, I've gone on to become a definitive piece in the Yellowknife defense, making the Pro Bowl in my first professional season. Since being drafted, I've also gone on to win not one, but two Ultimus trophies during my tenure with the Wraiths. To all those teams that passed over me in the draft, you done messed up and missed out on something great. Code: 220 Words RE: (S28) PT1 - Draft Day - Exilate - 04-04-2021 The Season Twenty Eight International Simulation Football League Draft was certainly one to remember. I was picked in the third round, pick 32, by the Philadelphia Liberty. I'm very happy to have went to them. I went way earlier than I thought I would and to a team I already love. I'm glad I fell to them and went to a team that actually cared about me and wanted me as a running back. We have an amazing draft class, with Xavier Walls, my fellow Tijuana Luchadore Romulus Roman, C. J. Sonjack, and Rudy Grayson joining me as the future of the Philadelphia Liberty. The current roster already has amazing people. I know Pat very well and Cody is amazing too. The actual draft experience and presentation was fun too. The graphics team did a very amazing job with the player renders and it was very fun and cool to see where my Tijuana Luchadore teammates went and experience the draft with them. I am very excited for Season Twenty Eight in the DSFL. I feel like I can actually make an impact now. And, of course, I am very excited to see where this Philadelphia Liberty team goes, and excited to see how many championships we can win. Can't wait. It's been 4 years since I was drafted by the New Orleans Second Line and through the upps and downs of the past 4 seasons, I am more than happy and grateful to be drafted by this team. But going back to my draft day in ISFL S25, it has been a while. I remember being a bit anxious about where I was going to be drafted to in that year's draft. After being sent down for a year, I kept thinking about the possibilities about where I could end up. I was a little surprised that I was picked relatively early in the high second round of the draft and was one of the first defensive players picked. After learning I was drafted to the New Orleans Second Line, I was ecstatic as NOLA is one of the best teams in the league and a great place to play. Reflecting on my time with NOLA, I am glad that I was able to be drafted to this team as we managed to go to back to back Ultimuses and have 2 conference titles to our names in 4 seasons. I hope we can accomplish more in the future going forward! Big Slammu's draft experience was quite a sad one. He was invited to the ISFL First Round Draft showcase as he was projected to be a first round draft pick at the Linebacker position. As he was in the green room with all the other high profile draftees, he had the cameras on him from the start. He's quite an imposing figure, standing 6'5 feet tall at 650 pounds, and with a jacked shark bod. The mood started off heartily and happy as the first round went on. Big Slammu was often seen smiling and joking with the other draftees, and ultimately giving them a heartfelt congratulations. Smiles and laughs turned into confusion, sadness and then anger. Big Slammu had fallen completely out of the first round. As opposed to the other people not picked yet, they weren't really projected to go in the first round, so the pain wasn't the same as Slammu's who expected to be gone after the top 5. Big Slammu refused to speak to media as he hurriedly left the green room after the first round was complete. Big Slammu ended up being a 2nd day pick at the top of the 3rd round to the Wraiths. Big Slammu definitely has a chip on his shoulder after that night. Code: 224 words RE: (S28) PT1 - Draft Day - Briedaqueduc - 04-04-2021 SHL Affiliation |
