(S14) PT 2 - Game day - Fordhammer - 04-02-2019 Nacho Varga's gameday routine varies from game to game. In college at the University of New Mexico, Nacho would usually start his morning with a large chicken biscuit combo at Los Pollos Hermanos. The carbs are great game day fuel. After his breakfast, he would head over to campus to get an early start at the facilities. He would usually spend about 30 minute on the jug machine; catching 100 balls without any drops before moving on to some last-minute film study. Nacho always drew the opposing team's best DB, if not double coverage for the game. He had to take advantage of every slip up by the defense to maximize his opportunities, and watching film of them was the best way to know ahead of time how to get open. Now in the DSFL, his routine has more variance. Unless the team is visiting Tijuana, there are no Los Pollos Hermanos to be found. He usually grabs breakfast at the hotel with the team, and grabs an early bus to the stadium to get in some reps with his QB, Apollo Lange. Nacho does use headphones to drown out noise in the locker room. He prefers the camaraderie of his teammates. The Solar Bears have become a close-knit unit quickly, and he's soaking up every moment with the team in what could be a brief stint in the DSFL for some of the players. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - Bayley - 04-02-2019 PBE PT - Bayley (S14) PT 2 - Game day - SouljaBoy2007 - 04-02-2019 On game day, I get up at 7:30 and take a shower to wake myself up for the day. I make myself 2 slices of french toast and sit on the couch to touch up on film for an hour or so and go over what the coaches talked about in my head. I leave the house at 9:45 to head to the stadium. At the stadium I warm up with the recievers, practicing coverage. I'll have headphones on during the warm up, playing a playlist on shuffle for now. An hour and a half before the game I head back into the locker room to get on pads. After this I come back out and jog back and forth from endzone to endzone twice to get my legs ready. I'll then go work on catching with my QB. 15 minutes before the game I'll go and hype up one of my friends on the defense, probably another DB. Finally, 7 minutes before game time, I'll put my headphones back on and listen to either All of the Lights or Dark Fantasy to get myself hyped up to play. Once the song is over I'm fully ready to play. Code: 201 words (S14) PT 2 - Game day - TomHanks - 04-02-2019 I wake up at 6:33am every game day to go for my morning run to warm up. It’s real relaxing to just be able to run wherever I like, and whatever speed I wanna run at. There’s lots of space in Tijuana for me to do that. Then I usually cut the grass after getting home on one of those little ride on lawnmowers, it’s a simple task, but it relaxes me. My great uncle Dan came with me to Tijuana, something about helping run the family finances so he usually rides with me to the games to chat about nothin’ in particular. Apparently, he likes talkin’ to me, reminds him of the kindness my grandfather showed him. I like all kinds of music but since I moved to Tijuana, I always listen to Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd on gameday, keeps my thinkin’ ‘bout running for Coach Saban back home, and makes me remember when I come from. Once I get to the stadium I like to go to my locker, make sure I got everything ready, then talk to some of my best good friends on the team. Everybody’s got rituals but I think the best ritual of all is just hanging out with people you like, and there ain’t a player on this team I don’t like a whole lot. At that point it’s really just time to get out there and start playing my heart out till the final whistle. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - TeyonSchavari - 04-02-2019 It is essential for me to be well rested. I will normally go to bed at around 9:00 the night before the game and wake up at around 7, sometimes earlier. As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I always scramble some eggs and cook three strips of bacon. I like to take a moment to say a prayer before eating to make sure I'm right with God at the start of the day. After breakfast, I like to go over the game film so its fresh in my head, and research the o-linemen I might be head to head with so I can see what their weaknesses are and what I can exploit on the field. For lunch, I tend to eat a meal that includes chicken. I read that it can provide a good source of energy a while back. Once I get to the field, I warm up and do my own stretches alone to get myself into a good mental state. My last prayer is a variation of "Dear God, please give us the strength to succeed in this game and protect us from harm. Amen." Once all of my rituals have been completed, I'm ready to get out there and play. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - Roly - 04-02-2019 Ricardo Morris has a routine that he follows every game day: and it starts with waking up and enjoying some leggo my eggos. He does not care that people say you should not leggo an eggo after the age of 12, its still the first thing he does every day. Then, he hits a warm shower before heading to the practice facility to meet with the Norfolk defensive line coaching staff and go over some tape for the opposing offensive line and offense. The focus is on how to beat the center, often who Ricardo ends up pulling as his assignment, and what routes the offensive line likes to make for the back, where to focus the pressure to beat the line, and how the back likes to break out, favourite routes. Then the defensive line works with the linebackers to build a strategy for the front seven, talking about what holes will form and how they can take advantage to shoot into the pocket. Ricardo then hits the cafeteria for a massive lunch, often some type of pasta dish, and then a pregame nap followed by a cold bath to get the muscles ready to perform. Some final pep talk and he's ready to rumble. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - Eco - 04-02-2019 Fatih Terim is not a superstitious person, however he values his routine above anything else especially when it is game day! He wakes up around 6 o'clock in the morning to do his morning jog, followed by a heavy breakfast which involves a lot of eggs and bacon. He goes straight to the stadium after breakfast because he does not like getting sidetracked by anything else on a game day. Whether it is his parents or his video game addiction, he ignores them all and just focuses on the upcoming game. He listens to alternative rock songs on his way to the stadium to get hyped. Once he arrives at the locker room, he turns his phone off, changes into his workout clothes and does a light lifting session at the gym which helps him get pumped up for the game! After the gym session he starts reviewing the films and notes on his opponents for the last time. He knows the value of the information that his coaches provide him, so he studies them religiously. After the reviews he eats his final meal before the game. He does not have a preference as long as it is a carb heavy meal which will give him enough energy for the game. (S14) PT 2 - Game day - flyeaglesfly29 - 04-02-2019 Lightsout Lewis or "Double L" for short starts his game day routine like no one else. I wake up and the first thing I do is listen to the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song, because "on the playground is where I spent most of my days." However, I now live in an apartment in Portland (Portland/Philly - Tomato/tomato'), so I get things going for breakfast. 3 Eggs, Bacon, Wheat toast and grape jelly get in my belly and then it's off to the gym. A facetime pump sesh with my boy @Rradum is what happens next since he's currently in Kansas City and then it's off to the stadium. Pregame meetings with the defense and then it's my time to get loose. I throw on my "Let's Kill Folks" playlist that is headlined with "Let the bodies hit the Floor" by Drowning Pool and start my stretching routine. "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" (yes, you just sang that to yourself when reading it). To be Lightsout, you have to be Limber (Patent Pending). After stretching, I do one on one drills with the other lineman to get in the feel of things before heading into the locker room to get dressed. By this point, it's game time folks! (S14) PT 2 - Game day - smaxx77 - 04-02-2019 The night before a game, Timmy Hoss tries to get a lot of sleep. He eats a small breakfast and a small lunch. He does not like to eat large meals before a game. Before he gets to the stadium, Timmy likes to remain as calm as possible. He’ll spend the morning doing a crossword puzzle in order to relax. On his drive to the stadium, he likes to listen to calming music. When he gets together with his teammates and when he likes to get amped up. As he first arrives to the stadium, he greets all his teammates and gets excited. After the pleasantries, he likes to be alone. It is at this point that he begins to put on his gear while he listens hard rock and metal from his phone. Timmy never puts on eye black due to a bad experience with it when he was younger. After he is ready, he rejoins his teammates for pregame preparations. He reviews the game plan with the team and heads out to the field to warm up. Even though he is a tight end, Timmy likes to make sure he ends warm ups by throwing a pass to another player on the team. He likes to say that he starts the game by giving away the ball so that he can receive it later. At this point, Timmy is now ready to play.
