(S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - RayCobaine - 06-19-2017 Ballhawk Jason Williams picking off his rival, Orange County QB Mike Boss, in the season opener. This int would be returned by Williams for a game sealing TD, the first Pick 6 of the season. Williams pointed to Boss as he crossed into the end zone, and spiked the ball hard. @JBLAZE_THE_BOSS PICTURE HERE (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Stormblessed - 06-19-2017 Ah, so today we talk about rivals. Frazier had Ali, the Beatles had the Rolling Stones, Ricky Bobby had Jean Girard. What makes these iconic opposing forces such great rivals is that they possessed the same level of skill. They were equal – equal forces not only oppose, but attract as well. So, when going down the line of potential rivals for Outlaws WR Stormblessed, the list is frighteningly short. We need to find someone who can not only keep up with Stormblessed, but be good enough to trash talk him along the way. Let’s be honest, nobody wants to hear about an inferior player talking trash. So, let’s run through the list of ‘top’ corners on the list. Antoine Delacour – Hard not to laugh when mentioning this scrub. 71 speed? Let’s see how that works against the fastest player in the league. Phillipe Cartier – Slow, can’t keep up. Try harder, scrub. Dirk Cutter – Half decent player, probably best on the list. Still nothing compared to Storm. John Canton – First I’m hearing about this guy. Literally. No idea who he is. It feels like Storm’s greatest rival is…himself. Look through the drop statistics. He drops more balls then anyone thought humanly possible. He leads the league in this category by FAR. The thing preventing Stormblessed from taking the next step is being unable to catch the damn football. 227 words (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Bojo - 06-19-2017 Turk Turkleton is an asshole. This mutha trucka thinks he can just step up into this league and boot it like me ich don't think so. Fortunately I got drafted by the better team as we're breezing through with a 3-1 record so far. I've only missed one or two kicks, which is pretty obvious there was some sabotage with the laser points and the air horns. But at least didn't get drafted to Baltimore where I'm more likely to get shot than have a shot at the championship. There's a reason Kicksit was drafted way before Turkleton, and that's style and class. Bojo is a fancy pants guy who would kick in a fresh pair of slacks if he needed to. Turkleton is the kind of name that feels like you're juggling a cup of marbles in your mouth. Kicking requires experience. Back in my day I was first-team all regional kicker in high school. What was Turkey? Probably eating turkey underneath the bleachers snorting gravy and tarter sauce. As a star soccer player ever since the U-5 leagues to the college beer leagues it's clear I provide the skill and experience necessary to lead a team by foot. Turky probably majored in philosophy and eats 10 cent ramen noodles for dinner. @Raven (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - DrunkenTeddy - 06-19-2017 I don't really feel like I have a rival in the traditional sense. The closest thing I can think of is my friendly competition with Bradley Westfield on the Otters. We both tend to push each other to be better every day, whether we are in the weight room, at practice or on the field. Westfield and I both know that we are the go to guys for this team and we both take pride in that. Our competitiveness tends to come out when we talk about who the number one receiver on the team is. Let's be honest though, we are more of a 1A 1B choice when it comes to who they throw the ball to. Westfield is great in the red zone and I tend to prefer the long ball, even if I have been running a lot of shorter routes lately. I think we compliment each other pretty well. The issue we've been facing has been one of consistency at the Quarterback position. A situation that I believe has been resolved for the time being, and hopefully that helps me and Brad out in the long run. In the end though, I'm number one. Sorry Brad. (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Kendrick - 06-19-2017 My rival is Mike Boss. Here is a quarterback who talks himself up before every draft (he's been in more leagues than I can count on two hands). However, shortly after he finds out he doesn't know how to workout in the gym, he quits football altogether. He is my rival because it's so easy to pick off his passes and go to the house. Our secondary picked him off six times in one game and we aren't even half way through the season. It looked like he was in mid-season form by Mike Boss standards. I wish I could say he was everyones rival but knowing he will drop off is a bit of an advantage for everyone anyways. I look forward to grabbing more of his passes and hopefully getting a free lane to the end zone. I think he talks himself up a bit for a quarterback who won't see the number one spot on the depth chart for a while now. I hope at least his team keeps him there for when Arizona plays him again because that would mean we get a free day of catches his passes. I don't know if I'd call him my rival in the end of it, more like my favourite player. (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - RayCobaine - 06-19-2017 (06-19-2017, 02:40 PM)Kendrick Wrote:My rival is Mike Boss. I took one of his to the house, you'll get one next time. http://imgur.com/a/gNyao (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - evryday - 06-19-2017 My biggest rival, and this is entirely one-sided, would have to be Johnathon Saint of the Colorado Yeti. He’s currently tied for the most sacks in the league and is the only linebacker with a share of the lead. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best and that’s what I fully intend to do now that I’ve settled into a starting position with the Baltimore Hawks. I have been playing all over the field for the Hawks resulting in a lack of sacks or tackles but an interception to show for it. I know I’m faster than him. I’m bigger than him. I’m just overall better than him. So maybe he’s a product of the system they’ve got going on in Colorado? I don’t know, but what I do know is come the end of the season, his name will no longer be atop the sacks leader board. You’ll see me in the lead and you can take that to the bank. No offense, man, but you’re going down! I could easily say that an offensive tackle is my biggest rival now that I’ll be playing full time at the defensive end position but I feel like picking another defensive player as a rival will help me every single game, not just games against him. That’s why Johnathon Saint is my rival, until I overtake him, then it’s on to the next one. @jparks98, nothing personal, never even interacted with you on the forum but you just happened to lead the league in sacks lol (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - Jbearly - 06-19-2017 Adamle Tomlinson has never really had rivals, usually he's a lot more quiet so his lack of trash talking really makes it hard for any one to find issue with him. This did change after the first game of the season in which Mr jefferspin of the Arizona outlaws wouldn't stop talking shit. The very same Jefferspin who's apart of the by far worst offensive line in the nsfl. They gave up countless sacks but they reigned supreme at the end due to an abysmal game by the orange County otters offense. This did quite frankly piss Adamle Tomlinson off as Jefferspin was the worst member of the Arizona line that day but he acted like he'd single handedly won them the game when it was more the otters losing it than the outlaws winning. He plans to destroy jefferspin next game when they meet, hoping to add to his sack total with an absolutely brutal performance that'd put JJ Reigns to shame. This motivation is all Adamle Tomlinson needs to flip the switch and dominate any team that stands in his way. He won't be stuck at a measly zero sacks when he plays the outlaws again this season, he promises that much to the fans of orange County (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - ErMurazor - 06-19-2017 Having a rival would imply that I have somebody who is close to my equal…just kidding. There are some big offensive linemen that I am rivals with when we’re on the field going head to head. I’m talking about the Angus Winchesters , Ben Longshaws, and D’Brickshaw Fergusons if the league. After the ball is snapped it is a battle out there, and I want to embarrass them on the field. But after that whistle we’re all about being professional, these are good guys going out there to do their jobs and take care of their families. I get and give a lot of “Good hits” and “Nice blocks” when I’m out there playing against those guys. The best part is when somebody brings it and really wants to compete, they push me to be better and the game brings out greatness in both of us. There is a guy who I’m not too fond of, but he simply hasn’t shown he is good enough to be my rival. Adamle Tomlinson was the only defensive end taken before me in the draft, it was a mistake. But the rumor is his daddy has connections to the OC Otters and now his little boy is going to pretend he’s a GM. So we’ll let that slide. But the dude keeps coming; he’s going after my teammates on the offensive line out of nowhere. Now let me say, if you work a guy over, let him know it, this game is mental as much as physical. But when you play what you call the worst offensive line in the league and line up next to the best defensive tackle in the league (no offense to my boy Asipi!), and still don’t get a sack. What exactly are you saying about yourself? That’s when you shut your mouth, take your loss, and get back on your bus. If J.J. comes out and says he worked over Jefferspin or Pest, fine he’s got numbers to back it up. But when you’re talking to the media about how bad a guy is and what you’re going to do to him and you haven’t even gotten a sack in the league, I get a good laugh from that. If one of the top defensive ends in the league like Spearhead or Varga were doing the stuff Tomlinson does, we wouldn’t be talking, because they back up their words with their game. They’re good players. Adamle throws his own offense under the bus for getting them a loss, let me know what he did to contribute to the team effort…not much. Adamle good luck putting J.J. to shame, you should keep quiet and keep riding the coattails of the great you’re lined up next to. If not, I hope you finished that degree at Buffalo. I don't need a rival to motivate me to be great. But I'm watching you Adamle, and I'm not impressed. @Jbearly @BasedGase @DeathOnReddit @timeconsumer @`BenLongshaw` (S1) - PT #3 - Rivals - PigSnout - 06-19-2017 Off the top of my head, I don’t have too many rivals. As a running back, I usually have to go against the entire defense on a play so I don’t have many 1 on 1 matchups that would lead to rivalries. However, there is one player who annoys me a lot. His name is Lindarius Shelton, linebacker for the Yellowknife Wraiths. In our Week 2 matchup against the Wraiths, Shelton forced and recovered my only career fumble. A few plays later, the Wraiths scored their only touchdown of the game. Luckily, we were able to edge past them with a late touchdown. However, my fumble nearly cost my team the game. I redeemed myself somewhat with runs to set up our field goal and touchdown later in the game, but I still dwell on the play that nearly cost my team the game. Not only do I view Shelton as a bit of a rival because of that play, but he also plays on a conference rival so there is a big team rivalry fueling the individual rivalry. So far we are 2-0 against the Wraiths, but they have been very close games and I expect the same later in the season when we face them again. We have at least 2 more games against them this season and could see them again in the playoffs. While I will be focused mainly on trying to win for my team, I wouldn’t mind plowing over Shelton or laying him out with a nasty juke if a chance for revenge presents itself. Quote:261 words |
