1) Playoff Prediction: Portland vs Kansas City, DSFL North Championship
Written: Give a short write up of one or multiple playoff matches. If completed before the airing of the sims have predictions, after if it is a review the game

Going into this season, Portland was the reigning champs and still expected to remain red hot throughout the year. With two blowout wins to start the season, it seemed as though things were going to favor the Pythons yet again on their way to becoming the leaders of the DSFL. Reality set very quickly after the blowout start, and they lost three straight games before trading wins and losses through the rest of the season.Portland is currently 2nd overall (by record) in the DSFL with a chance to make it all the way again if the cards play out in their favor with a win over Kansas City.

Their first playoff opponent, Kansas City, couldn't be more of an opposite coming into the season. With only two wins all of last season, nobody had hopes in the Coyotes outside the city to possibly make the playoffs. Yet here they are about to face off against the Pythons after grabbing a 7-7 record this season with a decent mix of solid wins and some bad losses. The Coyotes have a solid list of rookie talent that have pushed this team to where they are along with some veterans to bring them along the way.

Prediction:

POR 24 - 31 KCC

6) Our Time - Kansas City Coyotes
Written: Why should your team be looked at the favorite to win the Ultimus or Ultimini

Everyone loves a Cinderella story when it comes to championships. From the UMBC Retrievers in the 2018 March Madness tournament, to the 2007 Boise State Broncos, Cinderella stories have entertained sports fans for generations by showing anyone can win big games. Nobody in the DSFL embodies the classic Cinderella story more than the Kansas City Coyotes. Prior to this season, Kansas City was down in the dirt with only two wins and now they have a chance to win it all.

As mentioned in the playoff prediction, Kansas City is the young upstart team that has plenty of potential to upset and take the DSFL by storm. The solid rushing attack, and clutch passing game will help the Coyotes edge their way to the top. The Coyotes are the young guns of the playoffs, and will show just how dangerous a solid game plan can be even if the stats don't blow anyone out of the water. The first opponent for us is Portland who has ended the regular season on a two game losing streak, and one of those losses all ready was to us in a close shootout. There shouldn't be anything holding the Coyotes back from taking the title and completing this Cinderella story.

10) Rivalries

1) Playoff Predictions
Tonight I would like to predict the result of The Sabercats hosting the otters. Both offenses look stacked with guys like, Showbiz, Christ, Oles, Crush, Reed, and, Davenport leading the way.
San Jose is coming into this game with a 11-3 record, while Orange County is coming in with a 8-6 record, outlasting Arizona to make playoffs. The young guns on this team are leading the way on both teams, with the S15 Draft providing Apollo Reed to the otters and Cameron Olsen to the Sabercats, both were productive on their first year in the big time. Now let us get into the LeafSIM to see how this match up is going. At the end of the first quarter, we are tied up at 10, what changes will be made as we progress into the 2nd quarter? It appears that San Jose's defensive war machine has awakened, forcing Showbiz to throw two interceptions, and one that was returned 34 yards for a touchdown! It is now 24-13 Sabercats at the half. Well after 4 quarters, the score changed, but not in the otters favor, The Sabercats repeat as ASFC champions by a final score of SJS 31-19 OCO, That's all folks.

2) Underdog
We move over to the DSFL, where we look at the Portland Pythons hosting the Kansas City Coyotes in the Snake Pit (Leaf's 87 yard TD happened here). We are looking at the underdog 'yotes and why I think they'll upset the pythons. First, let's take a look at their QB, Rose Jenkins. She hasn't had the season everyone expected she would, but the 'yotes shocked everyone by making the playoffs, so the sim can do crazy things. Despite having a negative touchdown to interception ratio, I think she'll have at least 300 passing yards and two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. We move over into the Defense, and we find linebacker Lightsout Lewis. Lewis truly is a stud on the backfield, racking up sacks each and every game. He is truly better than some youngsters currently in the big time right now! Moving on to the game, I think Franklin Armstrong will have less than two hundred and fifty yard passing, and will be intercepted at least once, as the coyotes take the game 24-21. But Mr.Leaf, how did the game go? Shut up critics, i'll explain, Turnovers, turnovers, and more turnovers, it's not shocking that this game is a defensive battle till the end.
(205 Words)

7) Next year
Season 15, was not the year the Yellowknife Wraiths wanted, although landing an impact draft class, they made an impact a little too late, missing out on the playoffs with an 7-7 record. Next year, the expansion draft strikes everyone like a snap of the infinity gauntlet. Yellowknife takes very little damage despite losing Dick Wizardry to the Copperheads, as the defense and the offense take shape. The defense has guys like Alexander, Snuggles, Selich, and of course, your boi, LEAF, we are gonna pick you off, and return it 87 yards for days, and sack your quarterback until they're burnt like your 4th of July hamburgers. Our offence is cooking something spicy, introducing The Cooter Special with Marshall cheese and of course Canton's world famous ketchup, and Swifty buns.
We're gonna make it to the playoffs with an 10-4 record, then defeat philly by a final score of 41-13 and embarrass Falconi like a father talking to his daughter's boy friend. Then, the day has come, Ultimus XVI, Wraiths vs Outlaws, at the burial grounds, it will be remembered when leaf scores an 69 yard fumble recovery touchdown when Reese drops it like he had a bar of soap in his hands.
(205 Words)

17) Robbed
Ugh, we barely missed on playoffs because the sim decided to make Baltimore trip against philly.
So, we barely lost to very good San Jose and Orange County teams, but Yellowknife hates the sim because of Baltimore deciding to throw against philly. I really want to get salty on this but i hope that philly chokes in the playoffs this year, even though we embarrass the lib's at home by a decent margin, but that's still not good enough, I just can't seem to get enough. The problem with our current simulation is that it gives stupid penalties, like why would you give cooter a holding penalty? And why is not Pass Deflections not recognized as an official stat??? Get your crap together sim, even though Canton has it "Under Control" when he really does not, I'm coming in on my Lamborghini, and i'm coming for your record Dan Miller, The New Stud D.T has arrived. Watch out philly your bell about to strike midnight on your ultimus window link Cinderella's slipper, back to the pumpkin and mice of a rebuild. Good luck making it back, because the sim won't let yourself into it again. Peace out Players.

PBE Task

Portland vs Palm Beach. The user PDX GMing against the team nicknamed PDX in his honor. This Ultimini will be exciting to watch. For starters, we have the QB matchup. Franklin Armstrong the top QB taken in last season's draft has the honor of going against the top QB to be taken in this year's draft Easton Cole. Both QBs are capable of leading their teams to victory. Of course, Armstrong show up moreso last season on his way to league MVP (and about 5 other personal accolades) and an Ultimini victory. The upstart Cole had the better season this year in completion percentage, touchdowns, and rating. But why are we spending so much time on QBs, this game will be decided by the RBs. Bigby and the young Mendonca carry the load for PBs exceptional rushing offense. For Portland, the rush wasn't as dominant this year. However, the never ending stream of Stronglegs, RKANSAW, and Chess, and the mid season injection of Torrenson, and Owens, gives Portland so many weapons to throw at PB. Defensively, Lanzer Grievous and Blake Faux lead a stout Pythons side. For PB, I'm not sure if star LB Guy Nikko was called up or not. If he was, the defense may struggle.

2. All About the QBs

Man, what a showdown we have set up for the Ultimus this season. The San Jose Sabercats and the Baltimore Hawks are set to square off, and boy should we see a lot of points scored in this game. Let's start off by taking a look at Joliet Christ, Sabercats quarterback. No one believes in themselves on the field more than Christ does. After beating the Otters in the ASFC Championship Game, he was heard screaming, "I"M ALREADY A LOCK FOR THE HALL OF FAME! I"M THE BEST SABERCATS QUARTERBACK EVER!" While I'm less bullish on his overall talent, I can't deny that Christ has developed into one heck of a gunslinger. He was third in the league for passing yards during the regular season and a close third in completion percentage as well. He didn't throw a ton of touchdowns, but the Sabercats opted to run the ball in the red zone more often than not. On the other side of this juggernaut matchup, we have Hawks quarterback Childish Gambino. I mean, what is there to say about the guy that hasn't been said already. He was simply magnificent this season. Forty-five (!!!) TDs, only nine picks, and the season leader in passing yards, completion percentage, and passer rating. He's a sure fire pick for season MVP, but can he out-duel Christ and the Sabercats in the Ultimus? I can't wait to find out!

3. Enemies

Thorian Skarsgard remembers his rookie season well. It was the year that he won his Ultimus trophy. It was all the year that some fool named Kwame Abayomi Mbanefo tried to open his mouth and insult him. I mean, c'mon man. You're going to come out swinging against a guy's name when no one under the sun has any damn idea how to say yours. How long did it even take you to learn to spell it as a child? Seventh grade? Obviously, he had to try to talk smack because he's intimidated by Thorian. I mean, the guy has been in the league for a season longer, and yet Thorian has almost as much training in as him. I don't want to speculate on whether that's because he's lazy or just not concerned about his team's success, but it's just kind of sad altogether. While Thor has been busy racking up league accolades, I'm not even sure guys in the Hawks locker room know who this KAM guy is. (Notice his name is often shortened in order for anyone to be able to actually say it.) Really, what it all comes down to, is at the end of Thorian's career, he's going to sit back and think on the awards he earned and the success he had. If KAM can enjoy even half that splendor, he should consider himself lucky that his teammates carried him that far.

4. Next Year

Why should the Orange County Otters be considered favorites to win the Ultimus next season? Well, because we always should. Simple answer. This team has made the playoffs like 200 seasons in a row or some nonsense. We always seem to work out how to be competitive, and I believe that next season will be no different. Especially with expansion looming over the league like one of those weighted security blankets. Adding two more teams to the league will no doubt take some of the fight out of other teams, as we all will be forced to part with players. Don't worry though. The Otters have a plan, Stan. We always have a plan, and a back up plan. Also a contingency plan. Really, what I'm saying here is this; we're going to come back stronger than ever next season. After the large amounts of sim fuckery that we had to endure this season, I feel like the sim gods really owe us one. And besides, you'd be crazy to bet against the Otters. Otters may be cute and tiny, but they can be vicious and voracious predators that you really just don't want to fuck with. Some come on NSFL. Do your worst. The Otters will weather the storm the same way they always have.

3) All about the QBs
So, it’s pretty clear the gulf of talent between Portland Pythons QB Franklin Armstrong Jr and Kansas City Coyotes QB Rose Jenkins. I didn’t exactly build Rosie in a balanced manner, so her capped form is, to put it kindly, trash. This is why this matchup is actually really interesting, since the two teams ended up with the same record on the season, 7-7. So how did the Coyotes overcome such a trash QB?
Early in the season I was asked to possibly spend some money to redistribute TPE. Instead of wasting money on something that will be rectified when I leave the team, I mentioned how the rushing game is much more effective in the DSFL than in the NSFL. So, the Coyotes went in on the rushing game. So in this matchup, we see a truly amazing QB in Armstrong going up against Jenkins who will end up handing off the ball for most of the game. Except we saw something unexpected here.
Rose Jenkins actually outperformed Franklin Armstrong. Armstrong completed 16 of his 32 passes for 174 yards and only threw a single touchdown. Jenkins also only threw a single touchdown pass, one of her 11 completions on 20 attempts. The difference was that Armstrong threw two interceptions while Rosie only suffered one. This didn’t matter at all because as I said before, the rushing game is much more effective in the DSFL. The game was won on the ground Rkansaw NA for Portland.

9) Enemies
I don’t like Adriana Falconi. She’s getting too close to being the first woman to win the Ultimus as a QB. I want Rosie to have that honor. My last player Tegan Atwell was previously the first woman to win the Ultimus as a defensive back, as a defensive player, as an offensive player, as a wide receiver, and also just the first woman to win in general and probably the first to win back to back and multiples. Atwell pretty much has all those firsts in the league, but of course there are some first that she couldn’t get due to position. I intend on having Rose Jenkins get that first herself.
So yeah, nothing against Falconi, I just don’t want her to win until Rosie has won. Rosie should be making her way up to the pros this coming season and we’ll see how the rest of her team will support her in this endeavour. All I know is that Falconi isn’t in the playoffs anymore this year so next year it’s up to Rosie herself to keep Falconi from taking that first spot. If she doesn’t, it doesn’t really matter too much; but I’ll feel kinda bad about it for like three seconds and then immediately not care anymore.

19) Expansion Teams
The Chicago Butchers will be coming in with a young super-active QB in Rose Jenkins. While everything is unconfirmed and no talks have been had yet due to legal reasons, it’s assumed that Rosie will be signing in her hometown of Chicago to play for the Butchers. The Butchers don’t really have much yet, since the expansion draft has yet to take place, but there’s a few players that can be assumed to be going to the team.
As previously mentioned, Rose Jenkins has all but signed for the team. This means that they have a franchise QB, but do they have the weapons for her yet? Well, the GM player is already wide receiver Kazmir Oles, who has already made runs into MVP talks recently with his abilities. While one target doesn’t make a full arsenal, he is certainly a start to a great attack.
On the defensive side, D’Pez Poopsie, the other GM, is an impressive defensive tackle and first round pick Lightscout Lewis will hopefully be a rock in the linebacker position.
On a whole, it all depends on the expansion draft and who gets protected. They didn’t really have that much luck with their first rookie draft even though there were so many players available, but they need to get over that and find specific targets. They need a running back, more defense, and possibly another wide receiver to move pressure off Oles.

(S15) - Ultimus Week - BWIII - 06-11-2019

2) Underdog
Well coming into the Ultimas the San Jose Sabercats will be the heavy underdogs, despite winning it all last season and most of that comes from the fact that they are facing off against the Baltimore Hawks. Now straight away I think that they Baltimore Hawks will win it all simply for the fact that the NSFC was hands and feet better than the ASFC this year and that the at least Baltimore and Philadelphia and probably even Yellowknife would be the ones hoisting the trophy this year no matter who the ASFC were to send. But throw that all out because the Sabercats do have a path to victory and that is shutting down Childish Gambino. Now I know what I said about the Hawks & NSFC being great, but really that's sans Gambino. Gambino kinda sucks if I'm being completely honest, sure look at his stats, but really any QB would have done that with the Hawks offense and simply put he's getting too much individual credit. Anyways Sabercats have a pretty good defense, first they need to stop Brown, which is kinda simple given their personnel. Next stop Gambino, which too is pretty simple given their personnel. Just show up and play like they did in the ASFC Championship game and they can win.

3) All about the QBs
Well when you look at the quarterback matchup going into the Ultimas many people will count out Joliet L. Christ and just gush over Childish Gambino, but from what I can see it really should be the opposite. Childish Gambino isn't really that great of a quarterback and can easily be got to. Shit, one third of his interceptions came in one game to us. That's not to say that he doesn't have 350 weapons at his disposal, but if the defensive backs do their job he really isn't that good of a quarterback. On the other side you got Christ who had the second best quarterback rating in the league, while also running for over six hundred yards. I think that if he's able to run on the ground and make some key passes than he should easily be able to guide the Sabercats to victory over the Hawks. If the Sabercats defense rolls over though and plays like the lolcats then Gambino will do somethings and Brown will do some things and they will end up walking away with the trophy. If you were to ask me though with no bias and simply just looking at quarterbacks who is the better overall player, easily Christ would be the answer.

5) Spotlight on Youth
The only player from S13 or newer on either of the teams I can see making a huge impact in the Ultimas game is Spencer Castle of the San Jose Sabercats. I know you're saying "well what about Fatih Terim or Walk Green of Baltimore?" Well what about them? Those guys are frankly overrated and are getting enough attention. They're the kind of players that chubby cheeked greasy wannabe kids that sit at home and do nothing but watch the twitch chat of NSFL games think are good players and choose for these kind of topics to talk about. No, instead I'll choose a real game changer in Spencer Castle who will have to do something, anything, to try and stop Gambino. Gambino himself is overrated and we were able to pick him off a number of times on the year, so Castle should just do that and pick him off. Also if you just look at the quarterback matchup, Christ will actually end up being the more efficient passer (also because he's dropping dimes over the two players I mentioned earlier) as Gambino will continue to be erratic and show that he is human as we were able to show many times this year.

1) Reviewing the playoff games that have already occurred, Liberty and Hawks met to decide t he NSFC champion. The Hawks with a 12-2 record, best in the NSFL, walked away with a 34-13 victory over the 8-6 Liberty. Baltimore’s Marquise Brown had 16 attempts for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns. The running back really showed his worth in this game and hurt the Liberty bad. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, Baltimore’s Ben Horne had 7 tackles, 2 sacks and an interception. Philadelphia was excited early on, taking a 3-0 lead with a 46 yard field goal by kulture Fulture. For Baltimore, the scoring got started by Viggo Squanch with an 8 yard pass from Gambino. After taking the lead 4:03 into the game, Baltimore never look back or trailed again. In the ASFC, we saw the Otters (8-6) face the SabreCats (11-3) and saw a similar score difference. The team with the better record, SaberCats won 37-17. SAn Jose’s Joilet L. Christ made 23 passes on 32 attempts, threw 298 yards, threw a touchdown and finished the game without any interceptions. Trey Staley had 7 tackles and 1 interception. The Otters went into the 2nd period leading the game 10-7, but the SaberCats prevailed. This leads us to the final for the Ultimus Trophy, SaberCats vs Hawks.

7. The New Orleans Second Line are the greatest team to ever tie for last in the league. Dwelling in the basement is building a sort of attitude in New Orleans that will explode next season when they start whooping ass because of all the suffering. The team is still building to what it needs. Wide-receiver Bona’beri Jones is still developing into a lethal threat that is both quick and has great hands. Sooner than later Jones will start to show flashes of brilliance like he had in the DSFL. Because of this, the Second Line are looking like they have a legitimate shot at the Ultimus. This rebuild is ahead of time and under budget, things everyone in the franchise can be thankful for. Management has promised that things are going to turn upwards and so far New Orleans has no reason to doubt them. There’s a lot of rumblings going on in the franchise about how close we are to reaching our destiny. That kind of talk fuels the boys and has us getting hyped for next season. I should probably contact the bookie and put a bet on us if our odds are crazy because a lot of folks are going to be surprised by how good we are.

(S15) - Ultimus Week - C9Van - 06-12-2019

Task 1 - All About the QBs

For my first task I will be talking about the quarter back I know better than any of the others. The current Tijuana Luchadores QB, Corvo Havran as he is probably the only one I can talk in better detail right now. Going into the regular season he had options everywhere. Great wide receivers, a speedy running back just in case and an all human offensive line (And least to my knowledge)

The Tijuana Luchadores finished first in the regular season thanks to having the best record and were heavy favourites to at least win the semi final match up vs the Solar Bears yet alone probably the whole thing thanks to the teams attacking options. At the centre of this was Corvo Havran. In my opinion we had a few games that just did not go well but over time we showed how strong the offensive side of the Lucahdores could be.

However, after a poor start in the 1st quarter, not just by Corvo Havran but everyone except Laszlo Forty-Two (I actually did the opposite, started well then faded lol) the pressure was on and they crumbled. Not the best time to have a poor game from the QB.

Having said all that, I am looking forward to what he can do in the NSFL when I finally am playing in there. I think he can become one of the better Quarter backs of the league and whether I am with or against we will see.

[248 words]

Task 2 - Next Year

Well, I would've loved to have written about how it was our year but the Tijuana Lucahdores got upset after a piss poor 1st quarter they never recovered from. Whilst it is rather sad to be dealt this in my first season I think the Tijuana Luchadores will not lose that much quality overall and will easily still have one of if not the best attacking options going again. We may lose a few options but will still retain a lot of great players that can make a difference in any game at any time.

We may also improve our defensive options in the draft this season. I do not actually have a clue what the team is gunning for in terms of players in this upcoming DSFL draft but if they draft as good as they did last season I am sure we will be doing very well once again. It also helps that you have 2 very good wide receivers in Laszlo Forty-Two and Hugh Mongo who will be even better than they were last season. We were actually overloaded with wide recievers by the end of the season so if anything we will have a lot of passing options for either Corvo Havran or the next future big Quarter-Back of the National Simulation Football League!

[218 words]

Task 3 - Strategies

I will mainly be answering this one in character.

"Overall, Laszlo believe team was on paper at least very good. Because of this. Laszlo Forty-Two is of the opinion team and especially himself were on correct path to destroying this junior league. If not for certain players losing puny mentality. Laszlo would be finalist and then glorious and very humble champion. Mr. Forty-Two however will change how he trains. Laszlo enjoy training he truly pick up intensity of workout and training towards the end. Laszlo was 1 of best players this season for team.

When new season begin, Laszlo will work twice as hard. He push himself to beat the other punt Wide Receivers in draft. Laszlo accomplish that. When National Simulation of Football League does draft me he will crush team mates who are lazy. Will make difference and prove team that gets me is at least contender if not winner. Same will go in Tijuana. Laszlo expect pigskin to be thrown to him more and Laszlo will be man who scores all the touchdown again.

Perhaps team change focus on helping defending players in draft. Laszlo and Forest Gump good enough to carry attacking side of Tijuana Luchadores. Now maybe is time to help defending players not be walking piles of regret hoping big strong Hungarian can carry them!"

[212 words]

Task 4 - Expansion teams

I hope this doesn't sound like an advertisement when I write this but I genuinely would be okay with joining an expansion team. I do not really care about the team I am joining currently looks. They could be a walking dynasty or a walking failure of a team. I want to be loyal to a team and make Laszlo good enough to be considered a great pick up and go as high as I can take him.

The roster would probably be more youth focused I imagine and overall positive locker room and over time I believe they could be built up to be one of the better teams for a long long time assuming they have a good active core that people want to be a part of and become one of the first legends they would have.

My outlook is basically help the team grow, make my player as good and as useful as I can and whilst probably a rough start would occur I am confident I could help make a difference in making the team not just a play-off contender but title winning team! My ultimate outlook I guess would be to get #42 retired or 1 of the first numbers retired for the expansion team.

7) Next year

With expansion looming, the New Orleans Second Line actually have a really good chance to improve a lot next season. I don't necessarily want to guarantee a championship but I think our team will surprise a lot of people next season and reach the playoffs. Why? Well there are a few reasons. We are a team heavily focused on guys from the last draft. We will add Joey Slothface and Tom Hanks to a team that already also has Quenton Bode and Deon Taylor from that draft class. Additionally we will have a new quarterback, though that one will still struggle too. Additionally, we will lose less in expansion compared to other teams, as we don't even really have six players that are extremely valuable to protect among our group of guys that aren't from last draft class. So we won't lose any one all that valuable while other teams will, while adding a bunch of new guys to an already improving team. With that in place, I think our season ought to go much better next season and therefore have a really promising season ahead of us. EVen just reaching the playoffs will be a success and then you can do your best to hope for a coin flip or maybe you beat the odds and win a couple games, you never know.

8) Strategies

While the New Orleans Second Line did not do a very good job last season, there is a lot to look forward to for next season. We have a really good thing going with a lot of S15 guys who were drafted last season. We already had Quenton Bode and Deon Taylor up in the majors this season and will add Joey Slothface and Tom Hanks next season on top of it. We will have a new and improving quarterback rather than an inactive regressing one. On top of it, we won't really lose much in the expansion draft, as we don't have to expose any of our top players or actives, which will further help this team compared to other teams. We also have a decent amount of cap space that could allow us to further improve the team by looring at least one free agent towards the New Orleans Second Line team. If we do get another free agent, that would really go a long way to improving this team and providing a really good base for success for several seasons to come with a very young core that will only improve with time and while next season may be a season too early, this team has a very promising future ahead of it.

19) Expansion Teams

Being an expansion team GM is never easy, but always a fun challenge. Where do you go from the start? While the options are limited, it allows you to build your roster from scratch and pick just the guys you really want. Sadly, in this expansion draft, I think there will be a distinct lack of talent from some teams at least. I know for myself, the New Orleans Second Line are basically not losing any actives and even among inactives, we lose one or two of value at most. Those players can still do well as inactive role-players, every team needs them, but hopefully the expansion teams will also get some value from other teams in form of actives. The expansion teams also have a good basis by having the last draft picks around, guys that they themselves picked in the last draft and should be able to produce immediately next season. It will be seen how well those GMs really did. Free agency is another place where the expansion teams will need to score sooner or later to compete, otherwise it will be very tough to improve their team. It will especially be interesting to see what expansion teams do at quarterback, I am unsure right now what their options there are.

Written: Write about one of the away teams in any matchup and explain why they can win. Must be completed before the sim.
Graphic: Create a graphic showing why the underdog will win
The Ultimus Championship is just about here, with the San Jose SaberCats against the Baltimore Hawks. It should certainly be an interesting game with both teams as leaders of their respective conferences, so I dare say either side has the chance to win. Judging by who is the away team, the "underdog" would be the Sabercats, but they won the championship last year so I believe they know what it takes to win and have experience on their side. They executed their game play perfectly last year, and there's no reason to be unable to do it again. San Jose only has one less win than Baltimore, so it's pretty even in my eyes, there's no major gap so they easily have a chance to win. I think San Jose's offense is a bit more potent, as evidenced by the conference finals performances where San Jose got 37 points and Baltimore got 34. The Sabercats can win by outscoring Baltimore plain and simple, and if the defense steps in and shuts them down the way they did in the conference finals against the Otters, then that's all the better. They're riding a lot of momentum from that win and also brimming with confidence thanks to their success last year, so San Jose can easily come away with the title as far as I'm concerned.

The Yellowknife Wraiths were tantalizing close to finally breaking through and making the playoffs after years of struggles and hardships, but fell short by one win to the Philadelphia Liberty. But next year, they'll be a force to be reckoned with; many of the stronger teams will lose some seriously Grade A players in the expansion draft, while the Wraiths have the ability to protect most of their important player. They're also extremely young, so a lot of their players are just hitting the prime of their career; as some of the guys start crossing the 1000 thresh-hold, the star power will carry over to the score sheet and add on some extra wins. The Wraiths have so much talent as receiver right now, as well as two top tier running backs, so really they just need their young quarterback to advance a bit more and then they can take on and defeat any team in the league. Additionally, their defense has a great foundation with solid quarterback, serviceable safeties, and an up-and-coming faster-earning defensive end. The top teams now are staring down regression, but Yellowknife is on the way up and ready to win in the near future; their window is almost here.

I feel like Yellowknife is lacking in veteran leadership, so we really need to sign a free agent to bring in some experience. If we could sign a safety, it would really help out defense, which I think that safety weakness cost us a lot of wins this year and was the difference between making the playoffs and not making the playoffs. We also need to have our guys keep updating and have someone cross that 1000 TPE mark, because then you'll see that huge super star difference making factor. Maybe we need to trade a young player that is a few years away from hitting their prime and making an impact on the turf for a guy who's in his heyday now and can put them over the edge. Youth is great but rebuilding isn't supposed to last forever, so it's time to move away from the youth movement and go for some veteran talent. Maybe they don't even have to move a younger player for an older, higher TPE one, perhaps instead they can move draft picks which are even farther away than prospects. Plenty of teams would be interested in a package of picks for a good player, and that's the sort of deal Yellowknife should be looking into to go for a championship title.
