Records are an interesting thing, because they provide factual evidence to back up all these otherwise opinion based claims on who is better and who is the real taco around here. Well almost, because as some wise man said all numbers and stats can be twisted in a way to make you look good or bad. So if I had the choice to choose any record to break, one might think it would be the single game DSFL tackle record that I was so close to breaking or the DSFL season tackle record, which by the way, I am on course to break, but no. Tackles are a nice stat and all and of course it tells you that you are doing something right, because you are breaking up a play, but what it lacks is context. You really don’t know how far from the line of scrimmage the player was when you made the tackle, it really can be just stat padding in some ways.

You know what doesn’t have that same error? Well of course it's sacks! Those glorious sacks that really tells everyone around you that you are just pounding that quarterback and making his life a living hell. And of course I want to break the single game sack record. You know why? Because I want to make that one quarterback feel like he can’t have one single moment after the snap to think about what he is going to do next, he’ll always be thinking oh shit, oh shit when is that motherfucker Maurice going to come and take me down. I’ll be so badly inside his head, he’ll have nightmares about me. At the same time I’ll be making his offensive line look so bad they won’t come to practice for weeks because of the shame. I’ll make them look silly and take their lunch money too, be the baddest son of a bitch on the field. If I break the record, I could go all out and be poppin that champagne and celebrating like a mad man, but no not on this occasion. The best way to celebrate, would be to send that sorry little quarterback, who I got to so many times a postcard with the words “I’ll be watching you”

It's no secret which record Copperheads linebacker Sandip Bakshi has his eyes set on: Tackles. Since entering the league, Bakshi has had 100+ tackles in every season while playing for both Yellowknife and Austin. With the switch from a 14 game season to a 13 game season, it will be much more difficult to break the career record or even the single-season record, but that hasn't dissuaded Sandy.

"Good tackling is one of the things the coaches expect us to do on every down, it's not really glamorous but someone's got to come up and make those tackles and I usually am the guy they have tracking down the ball-carrier to make that hit." Sandy said in a post-game interview.

So far this season, Bakshi hasn't been doing himself any favors. With just 22 tackles through 3 games he is far short of the league leader and rookie linebacker Honda Edmond has been getting a lot of production of his own. Having a shared load between 2 talented players is no doubt a good thing for Austin's defense, but for Sandy Bakshi's path to the record books it's quite a substantial obstacle. For Sandy though, no personal glory can match the real goal of the league.

"I just want to win," Sandy said, "can I change my answer to the franchise record for wins? I should have just said that to begin with."

The most important job for a Wide Reciever is to catch the football. The yards and touchdowns are a nice bonus, but none of that matters if you cant hang on to the ball in the first place. If Asher Quinn could set any record it would be the NSFL for most catches in a single game. I'd like to break this record to showcase how great of hands I truly have. Single season and career records look great but when you see a single-game record you know that player just took over. My way of breaking the catches record would would involve me slicing and dicing up the opposing defense. It would be surgical finding holes in the zone over the middle of beating the corner underneath in man coverage. The refs would be come impressed that they would ask to check my gloves for stick 'em multiple times since they can't believe the catches I would be making. This would require a lot of trust from my coach and QB but something that I feel fits right into my wheelhouse. I would gain first downs like crazy along the way. The feeling of knowing that you've accomplished something no other player has been able to do would be vindicating to be going from the role of small school player to record holder.

My long term goal would be to break the all time touchdown record. In my two DSFL seasons, I tied the scrimmage touchdown record my first season, and broke both that record and the rushing touchdown record in my second season. Players who spent more time in that league have the all time career record for that, but I’d like to get that record in the big leagues for my career. 123 touchdowns is a ridiculous amount, and I’m gonna have to have a long career to even come close to that, but I’ve got a knack for getting in the end zone. Ever since my prospect bowl where I put up only a single touchdown across the whole tournament and lost out on the prospect bowl MVP because of it, I’ve been trying to get in the end zone as much as possible. It’s been working out so far, I’m leading the league in rushing touchdowns at the moment, and am the third highest points scorer in fantasy football as a result, but I’m no where near the ultimate target. If we counted DSFL touchdowns I’d be in a much better spot, but as things are I’m on my way. If you look at the top 10, there’s a serious tier list, so I’d at least like to get to that top tier of guys by breaking 100 touchdowns in a career.

You wanna talk about records for my player when you all know my player is incapable of breaking records what the hell bros , you all know lineman don't do it for the stats they do it for the team wins, blocking the cocky Defensive lineman who celebrate when they make maybe 1 big play a game getting a sack. You ever see an offensive lineman celebrate? Only when his team scores baby, there are no personal celebrations for a lineman and rarely any personal accolades other than positional awards OH WAIT WE DONT HAVE THOSE EITHER WOW GREAT MOVE HEAD OFFICE . So since we don't have records or personal accomplishments im gonna talk about winning some ships because that's the real goal of an offensive lineman, not the sacks, or picks, or TD/INT ratio, none of it matters to a lineman, only winning. Brave Ulysses is ready to win his first NSFL championship next season when he gets called up to play for the New Orleans Second Line, who has designated a spot for him at Left Tackle. With Tom Hanks in the backfield, there will undoubtedly be a great run game with Ulysses on the line and Hanks running the ball. Thats the only stat I care about

Dexter Banks II is going to have a field day in the NSFL. Orange County has him locked up for the next few years, but barring crazy circumstances, I don’t see him going anywhere anytime soon. The Otters also have another key piece in place for the foreseeable future. Franklin Armstrong, the rookie quarterback is under contract through Season 20. I see that duo making a lot of NSFL history together. They play in a pass-happy offense and both are rapidly developing players with hug potential. If they have enough seasons together on the field then I can easily see Banks getting the record for most receiving yards in a season. Let’s do some quick statistical analysis. The record for receiving yards in a season is 1860 or 143 yards per game. That’s a hefty number, but with 2 or 3 monster games against the crappier half of the league and that average starts to look very attainable for a stud receiver. What about targets you ask? Well, Hugh Mongo should be there for the long haul as well, but that’s not a problem at all! Last year veteran quarterback Gus TT Showbiz threw the ball 40 times a game, and I assume the OCO GMs will give Armstrong the same opportunistic game plan in a season or two. If Banks can attain an average of 18 yards per catch (5th place equivalent in S17) then he would need 104 catches on the year to clear the yardage record. Assuming a 60% catch rate, then Banks would need 172 targets in a season. That number may seem staggering, but that’s only a 32.7% target share in a peak Orange County offense.

What record would Mako like to break you ask, that is an easy one, that is all of the Copperhead records he can! It is not so much break them however as set the records, Mako's 1st season in the NSFL was also the new Austin based franchise's 1st in existence and so Mako now plans to set as many records for this new franchise as he can. Mako is a loyal guy, and is very happy with the current way the Copperheads are being run, and as long as it continues that way, Mako will be a Copperhead, he hope it will stay that way for his whole career. So let's run through the records Mako Hope's to break and set for the Copperheads:

The 1st lot are the the easy ones:

Most rushing attempts, most rushing yards, most rushing touchdown and longest run. Once all these are collected then why not have a go at catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Mako is a pass catching running back after all and what is wrong with a bit of ambition. Lastly Mako is in it for the long haul so why not try and set most game played for the Copperheads period, Mako is a young guy after all!

Speaking only for Jay Cue, as a QB obviously that the records that I look at are all related to Passing. Would love to be able to beat either Passing Yards on a season or Touchdowns. And I’m talking about beating these records in the Developmental Simulation Football League and the National Simulation Football League, just to be sure that my legacy remains in the record books for a while.
On the other hand, I’m trying to make my character a Dual Threat QB, so I would also like to be known for the amount of rushing TD’s. Maybe getting top QB with rushing TD’s would be nice. I still have no idea how that will work in this sim, but i will still try to be sucessful with it.
Team wise, I can’t wait to add to the Pythons trophy case, so it would be good to get as many Ultiminis as possible, to add to the Ultimus i will definately get in the NSFL. A good record would be “the most trophies won in a career”.
If I had to choose one of the ones i talked, i would choose them all. I love helping the team, but i also want Jay Cue to leave a mark for the future.

If Mervin Leonard, Cornerback extraordinaire, could break any record it would have to be most INT in a career. I considered a couple of options including pass defections and defensive related touchdowns but at the end of the day settled on interceptions. Turnovers are just so important in football and if I could be responsible for forcing more turnovers I'd be willing to bet that would translate into a lot more wins for my team. I get fired up every time I'm watching the SIM and Mervin snags an INT and I'm sure all the fans in the stands go crazy too. The current NSFL record is held by Dermot Lavelle who managed to snatch an astonishing 57 throughout his career. Thankfully for me he played for my future team, the Yellowknife Wraiths, and rumour has it he hangs around the locker room giving new CBs tips on how to improve their game. I definitely have quite a bit of work to do to reach anywhere near that level but everyone needs a goal and a dream!! I haven't stepped onto the NSFL field yet but when I do expect me to make an impact! QBs beware, Mervin Leonard is on the hunt.
