(S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - Mooty99 - 10-22-2019 Let's talk fantasy, I always enjoy fantasy and normally do well but this year I am currently dead last in my group.l, picking last on the turn is not easy but that is no excuse! So first of all I will look at where I got things right, and that was picking myself, Mendonca, I was a steal last year but knew people would be wise this year, still Mendonca is currently the 2nd highest non-qb points scorer, so you can't argue with that. The rest of the moves I made they only decent ones were grabbing the OCO defence and taking Helanen with my last pick, both are doing well. Taffy was my flex pick and has been struggling really, I didn't have must choice at tight end so I can't really complain about Harp, he could still get some more points, tight end is so volatile in fantasy. My biggest miss has to be Flash, I new San Diego were gonna suck but not this much, I have now moved him out my time for Espeeyeeseetee, hopefully this will help me. I also grabbed Bigsby 2nd, I was hoping to create a run on quarterbacks but this didn't happen and Bigsby is underperforming currently sitting 5th in QB points, all in all no TPE for me this year from fantasy. ![]() Word count 223 (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - EarlEarl - 10-22-2019 Being in the DSFL I think the one player who would be an absolute stud from my team would be our QB Johnson Harding. He is such a duel threat with the ability to run and throw, it is hard for defenses to defend that. even when the team loses his stat line is still good for would be fantasy points. Also, with just one QB starting per fantasy team, you need to find the one that you think is going to stand out the most, unlike RBs and WRs where you have multiples. The Quarterback is always been the most important position on offense, and Johnson proves that week in and week out. Whenever I play fantasy, I always make sure to get that QB I want because they are always the biggest point getter and that is true of Johnson Harding. Without a doubt I believe if DSFL fantasy was a thing he would be the consensus number one overall pick. And when he makes that NSFL I believe he will be one of the top picks there as well. This season will either prove me right or wrong in the coming weeks. This is a disappointment compared to my top three overall finish last year. My team has a steal in Johhny blaze at Tight End and Ashley owens as my flex starter. Owens is fourth in rushing plus his receiving upside so that combination is key in winning my flex position. Blaze is 10th overall in pass catchers and the next tight end isn’t until the 25th pass catcher for receiving yards. This gives me a distinct advantage over other teams. I don’t forsee myself making it into the top 20 fantasy teams this year as I have McDummy as my starting quarterback and not much options on waivers. Jenkins is on the waivers but should regress after Chicago got rid of Oles. Another hole that I can’t climb out of is my RB1. I cave Bigby who is in a time share in Baltimore for some reason with Corey Trevor the IA. For how much Baltimore should be leading games you think they’d need to rely on the run game more. Keeping me average in the league is Alex D the kicker for the Otters and hawks Defense. Last year I had top five players in each position to vault me to the top. This year with more experience under my belt I seem to have missed the mark and are looking forward to next years season to try and build a high upside roster. But I'm sure people are tired of reading about it (and besides, in terms of fantasy points the Second Line defense has been lackluster this season). So, I'll use this opportunity to brag on one of my teammates instead. Specifically, I'll take a moment to talk about running back Forrest Gump. Those who own Gump in fantasy are certainly happy with his performance so far this season: he's currently sitting at 117.3 points, the most in the league. He's achieved this status by rushing for 625 yards and 7 touchdowns (both league highs), while also picking up 128 receiving yards. For those of us in the New Orleans locker room, Gump's success--both on the field and in fantasy--is no surprise. He's shown from day one that he's a competitor and someone who will work tirelessly to improve, and all that hard work is starting to pay off. Even back when Gump and I first found ourselves teammates in the Prospect Bowl (Grizzly Gang!), I knew he was gonna be something special. I'm incredibly proud to be his teammate and his friend, and I'm really starting to regret not playing fantasy this season. With any luck, he'll continue this dominance through next season, and I'll get to take him with my first pick in the fantasy draft. Coincidentally, I am in last place by far in the group. I also had the first overall pick. I believe that maybe I am just bad at fantasy. My first overall pick was my Philly teammate Sam Torenson, who I expected to run all over the league and destroy fools. Unfortunately, Philadelphia has had a bad start and Torenson has not really performed yet. Also from Philly, I have Baxter Frost who should have been my very first pick because he is a god. At wide receiver, I picked the worst player I could in Sunnycursed. At quarterback, I took too long to grab one and was left with the bottom options and I mistakenly selected New Orleans QB Stan Francisco. he's been really bad. I also grabbed Nate Swift at WR who I assume has also been real bad. At TE, I did get Verso L'Alto. I did select Marcella Toriki for my flex which was probably a good decision, i'm not sure. I decided to have fun and grab some S18 players this season. I have no idea how any of my players are doing because I don't care all that much, but my team is in last place so everyone must suck besides Frost and Toriki. Oh, and the NOLA defense is probably doing okay. In conclusion, fantasy football sucks because I am bad at it. |
