Well... firstly, money is directly proportional to activity in the majority of cases. So I'm not sure this point makes sense. I mean, you don't get equipment for being active. Sure, having regression equal for everyone is cool. But this suggestion doesn't make things unequal any more than having different tiers of equipment does. Also, didn't you literally state in your article that regression currently doesn't actually reward activity? As things stand, I personally don't see much point in trying to max earn once regression hits. Knowing my player's career won't effectively be over in 3 or 4 seasons would change that, though.

Secondly, it would depend on the purchase. Pretty sure sidd isn't suggesting you can "pay your way out of regression" but merely soften the blow a little.

And frankly there needs to be *something* more to spend money on otherwise there's no point to accumulating money beyond your equipment needs -- which ties into the trend of players taking minimum deals. A way to soften the regression hit is a good option to potentially open spending options without disrupting TPE balance. Not sure the numbers are even workable on this but it's an idea worth exploring imo.

I can even understand the argument that we don't want 15 season careers... but how better to reward someone who has been ridiculously active and contributed a lot to the league than having them reach a milestone that is literally out of reach for 99% of others?

It's worth considering at least.

This is a good point. There are some players who have crazy money for contributing to keeping the league running and should be rewarded. Also it would make less min deal situations, which could be more fun to watch during the FA period.
