By the agent bylaws you can't talk to any GMs without your player present in the chat. And if your client is still under contract/not yet legally a free agent, talking to a different team's GM about potentially joining their team is tampering. So, no, you can't really do that sadly. Tampering is defined as a player or GM approaching a player under contract with another team or whose rights are owned by another team, with the purpose of persuading them to join your team, request a trade, or hold out on contract negotiations. Since I'm neither a player nor GM I can have a discussion with other teams about a player entering FA. The player does have to be in the conversation however as long as the player doesnt say anything or interact with the GM it isnt considered tampering. *TT69 Sports Agency - TomHanks - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 07:21 PM)TubbyTim69 Wrote:Tampering is defined as a player or GM approaching a player under contract with another team or whose rights are owned by another team, with the purpose of persuading them to join your team, request a trade, or hold out on contract negotiations. And of course there is no way that it would ever be determined that a GM discussing their desire to sign a player while in a private chat that includes that player is that GM attempting to persuade the player to join their team... You may not be breaking any rules there but any GM who does that while a player is under contract is asking for trouble. I’m genuinely excited to be negotiating with an agent again but you best believe I’m waiting for free agency. *TT69 Sports Agency - IsaStarcrossed - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 12:21 PM)TubbyTim69 Wrote:Since I'm neither a player nor GM I can have a discussion with other teams about a player entering FA. The GM is legit sitting there with a player in a chat trying to negotiate getting them to the team. Like the player is watching the GM going "Yeah, we really want to get this guy here and here is what we're willing to do to make it happen." The player doesn't have to respond for that to be tampering. *TT69 Sports Agency - Billybolo53 - 06-05-2020 Can’t you talk to GMs in generalities. Like what would sort of contract would you offer for a WR with 750 tpe. Just gauge potential interest levels of teams without tampering *TT69 Sports Agency - TubbyTim69 - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 02:24 PM)IsaStarcrossed Wrote:The GM is legit sitting there with a player in a chat trying to negotiate getting them to the team. If the player doesnt speak in the conversation they arent participating in it. It is a grey area and a loophole. However after conversations with Bex it was decided it be best if I didnt exploit that. *TT69 Sports Agency - Opera_Phantom - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 09:57 PM)TubbyTim69 Wrote:But the GM isnt talking to the player. Irl agents talk with teams and only then bring the offer to the player right? If you have a client that you know will be a FA after the season, what rules are you breaking if you go to a GM and say "hey, Cue is gonna be a FA after this season, do you have interest? What kind of contract are you able to offer? What plan would you have if he signed?" No need for the player to be there. And even if you can't submit the offer to the player while he's still under contract, at least you have the basis for a proposition you can submit to your client as soon as FA starts. Am.i reading this wrong? *TT69 Sports Agency - IsaStarcrossed - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 03:10 PM)Opera_Phantom Wrote:And why does the player need to be there in the conversation? It is stated in the rules that players have to be present for all contract negotiations. *TT69 Sports Agency - Billybolo53 - 06-05-2020 (06-05-2020, 03:14 PM)IsaStarcrossed Wrote:It is in the actual agent rules.
