I think it'd be wrong if I could write an article saying that in his spare time Brandon Booker likes to play Football Manager and then included a 5000 word section summarising my FM20 save. I think it'd be wrong if I could write an article saying that while at college Brandon Booker got an internship in an office and then I wrote 5000 words describing my typical irl workday.

We don't tend to do individualised feedback

For this I'd argue that this precedent has already been set. That oil filter story is literally about a guy in real life changing oil on his car with the only connection to the league being the beginning and end where he talked to a few users in the LR, graded a day after Schwarz's article came out. As well as, if those two examples you listed expands on the personality of your player at all, hell yeah I think that should be paid out too based on the response to the question on the FAQ.

The last part I don't think the issue is feedback in general. I understand not giving feedback on all the media posts, but in the VERY rare case that a media post isn't league related enough to be graded I don't think its too much to ask that you at least notify the user that it won't be graded.

Thank you for at least addressing this, though. I'm sorry if I'm coming off harsh at all, the frustrations aren't towards you personally.

Getting arrested over fireworks and not mentioning anything about league backlash is not career related. Being investigated by the FBI about things completely irrelevant to football while not mentioning the league isn't career related.
I largely agree with you:

TH/others, regarding the FAQ: much of that is outdated. That's something I've brought up with Joe in the past. Some of it's been fixed, some of it hasn't.

Some of y'all need to chill. Since SchwarzNarr's been in the league she's been paid more for media than almost any other user. I think Tesla might be the only person who's earned more. This time, she didn't get paid NSFL money for writing about dungeons and dragons. I really don't think this is some outrageous decision.

This is a player who has been in the league for three weeks? And your excuse for not paying them on an article they put a ton of work into is basically "you already got paid too much, so sorry"?

So for me, here's the thing.

1. The way you phrase that makes it sound like "You made enough money, you don't get to make any more," which, while I get is not your intention, why does discussion surrounding one article really need any conversation about my bank balance? I have money - so what? That doesn't change the fact that based on prior history within the league's media page, as well as the FAQ itself, the article seems as though it should have been paid.

2. There was 0 communication to me. At all. I agree that media graders do not need to provide feedback on every article - that isn't at all what this is, though. This is straight out "We aren't grading it, we're not telling you we're not grading it, and we're hoping it'll die quietly."

Again, that may not have been the intention of the media graders, but that's exactly the situation that it is now being perceived as.

Just because you state the FAQ is out of date doesn't meant that the league shouldn't be following it until it's updated. How are users supposed to know the rules have supposedly changed when there is 0 communication to this point.

I'm not frustrated with you, I appreciate more than anything you taking the time to add your thoughts and comments to the conversation. Like I said earlier - if I had been told within hours or so of the Media Department coming to a decision that "Hey, we looked and as a team we decided this really doesn't fit the league and our goal," it wouldn't have been an issue. The fact that I only found out because I checked the bank log and then went and noticed it was skipped is my biggest issue here.

Only just looked back and saw this:

So your answer is yes, media team was contacted.

At best, this is an argument conducted in bad faith (because obviously I'm not partial to Joe's DMs). At worst, it's a really petty attempt at creating drama.

This is the media section of a fake football league, guys. Have a nice day, everyone.

Ooof. I will publically apologize for that then to JK. I didn't realize he'd just had surgery. I was under the impression it had happened a bit ago. So my bad on that.

Hey, I would just like to make one comment as an ex-commish:

We should all as an online community work on attempting discussions in private before making a full public forum shit show.

I cant think of how many times things got made public that should have been private discussions first, that made the issue so much worse and led to hurt feelings.

I can understand the anger from this, but I always think you should go to the head of media if this is an issue. It sounds like that wasnt done? and just to have a little bit of patience if you dont get the desired response before we have a thread with multiple experienced members ganging up on a group of people that do an 100% volunteer job (unless you really wanna count the 6M fake money or whatever as ample reasoning). I think its also fairly shameful that it is many people who have had or currently have high ranking jobs and know the stress of waking up to being called out on the forums. Also just the poor optics when you log in for the day and this is the first thing you see

We should all as a community work on CONSTRUCTIVE discussions and making this league better that way. This type of content is just generally a vietnam flashback to why i found this league so unsavory as to make me want to leave it entirely
