First of all, just did a quick google search of NSFL and now I'm even more glad that we changed our name!

I've said since I joined the league that the biggest hindrance to having greater participation here is the layout of the website. Quite simply, it's not always easy to find what you need or where you should look next. That's why I'm most excited to hear you all are working on a new website! I'm hoping to see things on there such as TPE tasks being organized together so that new users know what to prioritize, tutorial videos put together and available at the start of new sections, and perhaps even a "Need help? Talk to one of us" button that would link to the help page on Discord or a more appropriate place to ask questions. Even for more veteran users, to have an easier link to get to TPE trackers, Indexes, and other useful resources would be a huge help.

Once you get into this league, it's great - I'm sure there's things like balances of money, free agency, and tampering that could be changed, but quite honestly I'm not an expert in any of those things yet as I've only been here a couple months! In my opinion, if this league wants to grow, the best thing we can do is to make that first impression as simple and user friendly as possible so that new participants can feel good about the player they create and the community they are joining. Can't wait to see the new site!

I think an interesting rule or change would be to give players an option to potentially change how they play for upcoming games. For example, a defensive lineman may want to play more conservative against one team as opposed to the other. The lineman can set his or her play style to one where they will have a higher chance of preventing big runs but give up probability for sacks or tackles for loss. On the flip side, they can switch to an aggressive tactic to try and maximize sacks and tackles for loss but may give up huge runs up the middle.

I believe there should be a default middle point where nothing is affected. But this can encourage players to have discussions with their GMs to determine how they should play against certain appointments. If a conversation is had and the decision to adjust the play style is made, only then will it change. I think it would be interesting to see how some players will be very team oriented while others may want to boost their stats while risking team performance. I am not familiar with the simulator so I am unsure if this is even a possible addition that can be made, but it might be an interesting one in theory.

If I were in charge of making changes to the international Simulation Football league, the first thing I would change is the regression system. Back in the pro baseball experience, we have a system where you regress after 10 seasons instead of the current 7 year system, in which would help encourage more people to max earn as much as possible. The second thing I would do is overhaul the amount of Point Task’s available, the first part would be the introduction of the Journal Point Task, or JPT, is a commonplace for 300 words, and 3 TPE, and would pay anyone who completes it, 300,000 sim dollars. The second part to the TPE overhaul is the elimination of the trivia, as it is a commonplace that people can copy and paste the answers, making it easier who everyone, in it’s place would be predictions for all the games, just like before the previous overhaul. The final thing I would change is the cap situation, because we’re all sick and tired of the same teams being in the playoffs, I would suggest adding more cap, and the introduction of compensation picks for teams who lose a player too soon, or by arbitration. With these changes, the league would feel more like home.

I don't necessarily thing that there is anything huge that needs addressed immediately, but I do have something that I think should be changed about the league. I feel fairly strongly that the current league system should be dismantled in favor of a dual league system with relegation. Right now, ISFL GM jobs are the most prestigious positions in the league. In my opinion, a DSFL GM should be more skilled, in my opinion, considering they have to deal with a nonstop turnstile of players, along with the fact that they have to teach brand new players how to get started in the league. I think that every team should hold the burden of teaching the new players, and a relegation system would help with that. Relegation would also keep teams from tanking for too long, because they wouldn't want to get sent down. I think that at the end of every season, the two ISFL teams with the worst record should go down to the lower league (ISFL2 or whatever), and the two worst ISFL2 teams should be promoted to the main league, the ISFL. I just think it would be more exciting, and this would fix the issue that some people have, where they think that the DSFL is pointless.

I just want to start this off by saying any change that makes us less appealing to nazis is a good change in my book. That out of the way I am going to also preemptively say that this is an incredibly difficult topic for me as I think a lot of the changes that I would immediately have pointed to last season have been made over the course of this season. Of course this is a point task that I have to do since it will still be easier than doing another one of the PBE Championship Week tasks so let us get into it.

The obvious answer for changes that would be nice to made would be to get a less bonkers sim to use for the games. It would require an inordinate amount of work though almost certainly as we have looked and found all the other options lacking in one way or another. Ideally we would program our own with far more logical occurrences than the current one, but that is asking far too much of our volunteer group who have already done such wonderful things for the league. Now if one of our members won hundreds of millions of dollars in a lottery or something that might change; barring that I will say this is something that should be fixed, but should be tabled for the foreseeable future.

Actually I just remembered there is something that I believe is a pressing issue that is already in the process of being addressed, but is absolutely something that needs to be fixed. It also relates to the sim unsurprisingly, and that is the 79 speed quarterback issue. This is already something that is being looked at from my understanding so it feels a bit cheap to use it as a response here, however since it is one of the big things on my wish list for sim league updates I will list it. Plus it just gave me another idea.

Honestly it would be nice to modify the archetypes with the help of some of the more skilled sim users we have in the league today. I have been informed of the fact that at certain stat points performance actually drops off and it would be nice to do some work balancing the archetypes making use of that new knowledge. Readily admit I do not know if there was any such work that went into the previous archetypes, but based on the 79 speed bug I am guessing if there was that it was not enough. Also would love to see a bit more variation on a few of them as the differences between a balanced defensive tackle and a run stuffing defensive tackle are minimal at best. When it comes to defensive tackles though I would also love to see nose tackles allowed to be heavier than their counterparts regardless of whether that actually helps them in the sim or not.

As a previous member of an over-the-border team (the Tijuana Luchadores). I think it is amazing that we are celebrating our world-wide base of fans, players, and teams like Tijuana, Yellowknife, and London. We are also removing a very unfortunate acronym that was concerning from the very beginning (at least in my opinion). As I look at it... we have gone from "Not Safe For Work" to "It's Safe For Work" and that is just a great change for the future of the league. I can not even begin to imagine where our next expansion teams will be based, but I damn well believe that they will be outside of the United States!

If there is anything else along the lines of things that need to be changed for the continued success of this league I believe that a "full time" social media team needs to be in place for recruitment purposes. Right now, I only see Reddit as our tool for recruitment but many of our players use twitter daily for league money, if someone can get the players on twitter to get paid to recruit on that platform as well, I feel like that could be a great way to get more players in the league.
