My team has 2 players that were drafted at 50 TPE, one of which is now 800 TPE and the other 400 (both currently max earners), with that rule in place they would have never been drafted and have likely stayed at 50 TPE and never contributed to the league. This rule passed just because people are lazy. I think the 1% of people that come back and start max earning are worth the 99% of 50 TPE people who are IA and stay IA.

Emphasis mine.

Calling draft graphics makers lazy is disingenuous at best - these draft cards take a lot of time to pump out, and furthermore the draft boards take longer.

I collected some receipts back to S12. Assuming it takes 15 minutes to make each card and export it into a slide, as well as add the board slide (a vast underestimation), 79.75 hours have been spent on making cards for players with 57 TPE or less, on average 6 per season. This is the worst during Reddit drafts - that time is never coming back. We've got one of those coming up next season, by the way.

Overall, 30.61% of all cards go to players who will almost certainly never log back into the website and continue using said player. Plus, it would remove on average $12.27M from the economy each season, as those are less cards to be paid for.

Calling the GFX team lazy when they have put in nearly 80 extra hours of work for players who never log back in and for stream viewers who leave after the actives are all gone is just wrong.

I think Frost is trying to call out the GM's being too lazy to draft IA's rather than GFX being too lazy to create draft cards, at least from my interpretation. I didn't even think about graphics tbh lol, a lot of people forget the work you guys put in and you should be appreciated more for sure!

GMs being lazy isn't even an excuse. Teams have been skipping, trading away remaining picks, and using the wonderful-beautiful-rainbow-comic-sans random button. Lazy GMs have had ways out for forever.

3. Implement a formal external budget department tasked with tracking contracts. This would remove the burden of documenting signings in the current budget sheet from GMs, as well as streamlining the budget check process, allowing issues to be found early and resolved quickly. It would also streamline the assembly of the FA list. This rule would require the reworking of rules II.D.1.d to remove team punishment for the specified error

9. EXPANSION DRAFT PROTOCOL

* Each existing team may protect as many as 9 players from its roster.
> A full roster (including 1 user OL) requires 19 user players; 9 protections allows an existing team to protect just under half of its starting roster.
> Players from the most recent draft class are automatically protected and do not count against this total.

* Alternatively, a team may forego any number of its protections for an equal number of free agent passes.
> A non-expansion team may only sign as many of its own free agents as it has free agent passes available.

* Any contract option must be exercised 24 hours prior to the start of the expansion draft.

* If a protected player chooses to exercise a contract option, that protection instead becomes a free agent pass unless the team specifies otherwise.

* An expansion draft lasts 12 rounds total.
> As stated above, a full roster (including 1 user OL) requires 19 user players; 12 selections allows an expansion team to fill just under two-thirds of its starting roster, not including rookie draft(s).

* The maximum number of players that can be taken from an existing team's roster will be equal to the number of expansion teams being added to the league.
> This ensures that no existing team suffers too lopsided a loss to expansion.
> This does not include the expansion teams' GM players, who need not be taken through the expansion draft process.

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - Frostbite - 08-06-2020

I was referencing the GMs when I mentioned that, I know GFX puts a lot of work into that but I overall think its worth it. because some people do come back and appreciate the draft GFX. GFX guys also get paid in the 10s of millions for their work for it, and like I said, even though it is very, very rare, people do come back from 50 TPE and with that rule the chances of people coming back go from 1% to pretty much 0.

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - YoungTB - 08-06-2020

Getting rid of trivia is actually so stupid.

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - rapideagle - 08-06-2020

Trivia being gone is something I can get behind, almost everyone just copied answers, and it took forever to get TPE claim up. Sure it was easy but that's kinda why I like it going away

RE: S24 Rules Summit Results - JBLAZE_THE_BOSS - 08-06-2020

Who's dumbass idea was it to get rid of trivia? Was it the same moron who got rid of weekly predictions last year? Why are you guys fucking with it, why not leave things alone? Was the league not thriving when we had Trivia and Predictions? You people are acting like TPE is a commodity with a finite supply and it needs to be controlled. You didn't have to tamper with a good thing. Big yikes.

We all know how hard gfx team works, and this is crazy, but I can't help thinking there's a middle ground here. Maybe all 57 TPE and below players could be randomly assigned after the draft, for instance. Or they could be labeled undrafted free agents. Something less drastic than permanently retiring them seems possible.

weekly predictions are back?!? hell yea
