GFX Pay Changes - dave - 07-24-2017 Sorry if this is getting over complicated. This system is not meant to punish those of you who do not have the skill to create GFX as well as others. If a grader makes a mistake and you would like it corrected, message the grader. The grader can also help you with resources to improve quality of work if you'd like. My main issue with the previous system was as follows. People could submit extremely low effort work and make 2.6 Million dollars. They would receive a warning, but the would still receive pay. This system could lead to major abuse. The penalties on this system are just more severe to remove the possibility of abuse. GFX Pay Changes - enigmatic - 07-24-2017 I fucking love how this league keeps treating graphics makers like second class users. Lowering our pay? Great move. This is seriously dumb and my interest in the league is on life support right now. Why does it need to be this complicated to make money here? This is seriously your idea of fun? I'm all for not paying people who make shitty sigs but for us who give a fuck, the rest of the announcement is a slap in the face. So you: - take over from the disaster warning of the last guy - find a decent solution that encourages progress and implement it - bend to the voices of the few who suggest problems instead of serving the interest of the many EVEN though you had fair and decent penalties for the abusers - on the eve of the season - after most rookies have signed contracts - completely undo all the work you've done and alienate the best, the worst, and the most mediocre graphic makers this site has by: lowering the pay for the same work, increasing subjectivity in grading and discourage people like me from creating graphics because I'm not sure i'll measure up to your arbitrary standards. Did I get that timeline right? And to respond to an above post: NO I DON'T THINK HIGHLY OF MY WORK which is part of the issue. Now I'm to be expected to be held to a higher standard, for less money, all the while being concerned that I won't even GET the reduced pay due to someone else - who may or may not know anything about a completely subjective medium - doesn't like what I do. How is that encouraging, helpful or welcoming at all? That's the exact opposite. I agree with Enig. This change brings the pain to the graphics community of this site; both established and new. GFX Pay Changes - dave - 07-24-2017 Due to the extremely mixed reaction that this decision has received, we are going to sideline this change until further notice. Graders as well as the community will work together to find a solution that we can all agree on. The vision that I have clearly does not align with the vision of the members of the community, and that may be for a number of reasons. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and again, I would like to work together with certain members of the GFX community to find a solution. I've spent A LOT of time trying to get better. But my style would be thrown out because it doesn't fit your rules now. I wouldn't be worried; your stuff is professional looking and has at least some design elements to it. I've found your stuff to contain an good level of effort thus far. You've clearly been trying new things, whereas this change was designed to eliminate the people who copy/paste from google images and throw some text on there. To be fair, under the new system (had it been implemented), you would have probably gotten the effort and skill bonuses and ended up making significantly more every time. Are you really happy now, when JoeBob CopyPaste gets the same cash as you every week for his 5 minutes of effort?
