Bank rules in a media backlog - Kristy95 - 08-06-2017

Let me just ask you this... if your job didn't pay you in real life, and the store told you that you couldn't buy something, and the bank told you that you had no money... would you bitch at the bank and the store to fix their rules? or would you realize the person to bitch at is the job that hasn't paid you?

The bankers work hard, and forcing them to grade ungraded media to ensure the dollar amount is correct is not going to fix this problem. The media needs to hire a bunch of temp graders, or buckle down some weekend and hammer it out. I'll help grade if needed, but I"m not changing the bank rules back and forth to suit this media backlog.

This is a pretty crazy point of view and frankly I don't really understand why I need to be talked down to like that by someone who is in a league position.

I mean I don't know how it works where you live, but there is such a thing as an overdraft policy, so you could probably still buy shit even if you weren't paid yet.

Second of all, I already said I don't blame you, I blame the media, but I just said working together would be nice.

And thirdly and most importantly, there is a difference between not being paid in real life and here. This is at its core a silly website where people are supposed to have fun. What fun is this? To you or me? I can't imagine how thats fun to anyone. If you can't understand why people are frustrated at this and just blame others and point fingers, especially as someone who has a role in the league office, I am concerned.

If I weren't a GM, I'd be probably 4 pages per day if there was a need. Rolleyes

This site IS supposed to be fun, and I do hold a league position. You know what isn't fun? Working my butt off to help run this league, and having ungrateful people bitching about maybe missing 5tpe off their eventual 1000tpe player. RELAX!! We aren't ruining your lives, we're using a system that keeps us from having to grade your ungraded material to ensure the dollar amounts you claim are correct (which we have seen plenty of people claiming different dollar amounts than what they end up getting paid). I'm sorry if you feel like you're being spoken down to, but I am trying to convey that you're barking up the wrong tree. Solve the root problem and you fix the rest of them.

Yeah but the point is I never barked up your tree. And I am not missing 5 TPE, I am missing quite a lot more, on an expansion team that is not doing well anyway. And the point is that its not about that. Its not about me missing TPE or ten other people missing TPE. Its about the system thats in place and I want to fix that as much as you want to fix it. I didn't bitch at you. My main gripe was with articles not being graded in the best way, whether thats based on time or order. So I don't get why you got so upset over that.

It's not the most efficient, but getting a couple of really long articles graded (i.e.: not 13 600 word articles, but 6-7 2 million articles) will help the media backlog and give everyone more money per article to use for equipment.

I would like to voice the opinion that the Updaters job is hard too and we want recognition!
