You want bold, here's bold: this year the Baltimore Hawks will win the Ultimus Trophy

Yes, that's right, the worst team in league last year will win it all this season. This team looks completely reloaded and rejuvenated. They have only lost games on the road so far and their offense is fantastic. Scrub Kyubee has been lights out and his connection with Christmas has been unstoppable, especially as of late. Carmel Gibson has stepped into the role left by S1 TE of the year and has performed at just as high a level. And, oh yeah, the rookie running back for this team, Darlane Farlane, has a pretty good shot to be the league's leading rusher. The offensive line is young but is developing quickly with some extremely underrated pieces in Avon Blocksdale and Brokk Lee. And, this is all to say nothing of their defense which is slowly being recognized for it's powerhouse front 7 led by stud DE Kurt Hendrix and breakout star LB Erasmo Broadway.

This season, the Hawks have come to play. Their draft picks have performed extremely well so far and the defense looks like it's the real deal. The only real problem I see with this team is that their kicker (Tinkleton I think is his name?) is trash, but I think this team is strong enough to overcome that. Sure, it may take a few lucky bounces here and there to get them to the end, but I think looking back to this moment in the season once it's all over, everybody will be wondering why they didn't put more faith in this team to be as successful as it will be.

Here are some bold predictions:

- The Legion will be the worst team in season two, three and four. While they did a good job with trades to build a decent team right away, some inactivity has caused them to slip already. The Liberty have already caught up in terms of TPE and the Legion will struggle to make up ground, causing them to struggle for three seasons.

- There will be ten rookies in the team of the year. Ten seems like a very high number but rookies have done very well this season and in each of the first two weeks, seven or eight rookies made the team of the week, so I predict that there will be a great number of rookies in the team of the year.

- A rookie will win a major award other than rookie of the year. Similar to above, I believe a rookie could end up winning a major award this season rather than an established player last year.

- The season 3 draft will see 5 Offensive Linemen in the first round. Offensive linemen are still the most sought after position and regardless of activity, I believe the first round will be filled with them.

- The MVP will not be a QB, RB or WR. There just isn't enough consistency among those positions and I believe a different position will win MVP.

My Bold Prediction is that Josh Bercovici will be benched by week 8... and then the Legion will start winning games.

Sitting currently at 1-3, the team is way outside the playoff bubble and looking for any answer possible to accumulate wins. Josh currently has thrown 2 touchdowns, and a whopping 10 interceptions. That simply will not get the job done. In 4 more games this trend not only continues, but gets worse. The Vegas squad will go 0-4 over its next for with Berc under center. Josh will throw 1 touchdown in that span, and 13 more interceptions. This will put his week 8 stats at 3 TDs and 23 interceptions. The grossly overpaid quarterback will have to either consider changing his position or filling cups with gatorade for the rest of the season. Regardless of what he does, from there on out the Legion will start winning games and those they lose, are by slim margins. Whether it's young Logan Ryder or another QB they trade for or pickup off waivers, the Legion decide they want to move on from the Bercovici experiment for good. His only shot to stay on the team is to switch positions because his future as a quarterback in this league is gone. The legion will finish 4-10, 3 of those wins in the post Berc era.

I have a few bold predictions.

1.) Sabercats are a top 2 team
2.) Legion finishes last in the NSFL
3.) Liberty finishes with a better record than the Otters and Hawks
4.) Otters don't make playoffs

First off, I think that the Sabercats will be a top 2 team, and play in the Ultimus cup (and possibly win it, but that might be too bold). I believe this because currently the team has put up dominant performances, Our offensive line is the best in the league, we have fantastic receivers and running backs which really benefit from our offensive line. Our QB situation is looking good, we have 2 guys that could possibly start and that healthy competition I think will make both of them work harder to max out their stats to be the starter. On defense, we have really high TPE defensive linemen, linebacker and corner back with also having 2 high TPE safeties which allows us to cover pretty much everything.

My second prediction is that the Legion is going to be the worst finishing team in the league. Honestly what they decided to pay Bercovici basically spells out their management has no idea what it's doing. Other than that, they've done nothing special thus far.

My third bold prediction is that the Liberty will end the season much stronger than both the Hawks and the Otters. I get their strategy, they have tons of newer guys that need some ramp up time.

My fourth and final bold prediction is that the otters are not going to make the playoffs and that they are going to end up with a worse record than the hawks. I feel like their defensive line relied so heavily on the "pump speed meta" and now that they aren't picking up sacks left and right, their weakness has been revealed.

My BOLD prediction is that the drama we’ve seen so far isn’t even close to what’s coming.

We’ve had contract negotiations go sour. We’ve had private internal locker room conversations get leaked. We’ve had rivalries and animosities boil over into thread-filled personal insults and vendettas. We’ve had trade demands. We’ve had draft day team demands. We’ve had drama concerning media grading rules and a hypothetical NSFL player’s association. We’ve had positional drama over which QB to start. We’ve had minor team drama where a GM suddenly steps down.

But I think there’s more drama cooking. This is the internet, after all.

Now I will confess I don’t know exactly what will happen. Will someone take a friendly rivalry too personally and dox someone, releasing their private information? Will a GM throw a hissy fit and “rage quit,” releasing all their players or doing something to royally screwing over their own team? What if someone with administrative powers get their account hacked? What if there’s confirmation that a banker, grader, updater, or administrator is using their powers for their own personal gain or to sabotage others? What if someone gets butt hurt enough to DOM attack the site, causing it to crash?

Maybe I’m just paranoid or cynical, but that’s my BOLD prediction: something will happen that will make us forget about all the other drama.

My bold prediction is that this is the last season in Las Vegas for the highest paid player in the NSFL: Josh Bercovici. Now I want to state clearly that this is just an unfounded gut-feeling. But knowing the direction his season is going and his dispelasure with the team around him I think the clock is already ticking. Bercovici has never been known for being quiet with his opinions' and I'm not sure that a guy like him can continue to put up dismal numbers like he is and not start pointing fingers. I think there exists a very real scenario in which Las Vegas spends a mid-round pick on a QB prospect in S3 and then trades Bercovici for an impressive haul of prospects and mid-level players and maybe even a few future draft picks.

It's clear that the problems for Bercovici in Las Vegas are not primarily his fault. The team around him, by my count they don't have a single Offensive Lineman with over 100 TPE. That's pretty much unacceptable. Add in to the fact that his receivers have had a case of the drops so far this season and you've got your star QB fighting an uphill battle every single play of the game. Will Trump Athletics allow their only client to flounder in Las Vegas for a few more seasons until the Legion can hope to contend? I'm not convinced.

Is this move a done deal? Of course not, at this point I'm not even sure which team would take on that massive contract. But if there's an NSFL team this offseason that believes they are one franchise QB away from title contention, don't be surprised if they are willing to give up some assets to make it happen.

Whatever happens this offseason and beyond one thing is for certain: A 2 TD - 10 Interception clip is not sustainable. You have to believe, at least privately, that both the player and team are starting to wonder if this relationship is going to last. Is it salvageable? I believe so, but that's only if Bercovici is willing to play the waiting game.

My Bold Prediction: Sack production by defensive linemen and linebackers almost doubles compared to last year.

Defensive ends, tackles, and linebackers focused speed last season, they got really fast. If they got through the line, they were taking the QB down. But most of them are capped out at speed now and starting to push their strength, tackling, and agility. Speed helps you get to the QB, other stats help you get off the block. As defensive linemen and linebackers continue to close the gap between themselves and offensive linemen in TPE (OL start out with quite a bit) we can expect to see quarterbacks taking significantly more sacks than they did last season. We will also see that interior linemen will actually give up the fewest sacks on average compared to the guys on the edge, but the guys on the edge will also generate the most pancakes.

The real question though, is how teams work to mitigate this changing dynamic in the trenches. Do they start getting their linemen faster? Do they move towards mobile quarterbacks? Do they switch schemes to west coast or other quick release plays? Do they curl up into a little ball and cry?

Too early? Hunt doesn't think so.

I don't think it's fair to say because he's the most talented quarter back in the league but my "bold" prediction is that Josh Bercovici will be crowned the MVP at the end of the season. Sure he might be sitting dead last with a 33 QB rating and sure he may have a 1-5 touchdown to interception ratio but none of that means anything. First off he has had two offensive coordinators in his first two years as a professional athlete, that is going to make it tough for anyone let alone a QB trying to lead his team. Secondly he has a whole new team of rookie wide receivers that are tying to find their groove as pros and learn how to play with a gunslinger like Bercovici.

Stormblessed, LeClaire and Rocket are a very talented trio of wide outs and I think they are close to learning Josh's tendencies. When that happens you better watch out because the sky is the limit for the young team and they currently sit two wins back of reigning champions the Arizona Outlaws. Bercovici has the attitude and the skill to right the ship as he puts the Legion on his back and carries them to the playoffs on his way to MVP honours. @Merica

Hunt on topping the Outlaws and the Otters
