RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - Tesla - 06-21-2021 Agent Tesla: So you are telling me a fight broke out during training and that coaches had to step in to separate them. Now everyone is concerned about it happening again? Magnus Rikiya: That is an extraordinarily simplified version, but yeah that is basically it. Agent Tesla: I know just the way to handle this Magnus. Just make sure that everyone is in the locker room on time for the next meeting and I will guarantee that this never happens again. Magnus Rikiya: You're not going to hurt anyone are you? Agent Tesla: I promise no one who behaves will be harmed. Scene Change Once all but one member of the team were gathered together in the locker room Agent Tesla rode in atop Melvin Murder-Moose. Tesla's body was adorned with the pelts of her many fallen enemies, a blood red sword big enough to decapitate horse and the rider in one swing in their left hand, and an overly large ornate horn covered in strange runes in their right hand. Meanwhile Melvin Murder-Moose had an especially noticeable glint in their eye that was most in line with their name. Agent Tesla: Listen up! I have in my left hand a sword that can cut through every material known to man, and quite a few materials that you people have yet to discover. In my left is a horn that can summon the Wild Hunt which would ravage everything for miles and leave all of your loved ones at the mercy of fantastical forces more dangerous than you can comprehend. Isn't that right Melvin? Melvin: Moose noises. Agent Tesla: Exactly! Now you are all aware that I could wipe out tens of thousands of innocent lives with the tools in my hands, and so all of you are going to do exactly what I say in this moment. This may very well be the biggest sport in the world, it is also your chosen career, however at the end of the day it is just a game. Do not let it get to you so much that you are upset at another member of the team. We are a family here who are playing a game for fun, and I want you all to remember that when you are out there on the field. Can you all do that for me? Insert consensus noise of frightened mumbled agreement here. Agent Tesla: Glad you are in agreement. Thank you! Now we are going ot take the rest of the day off to go play some mini golf. Follow us! That's right I'm talking the classic throw down, no holds barred, legendary fighting game Super Smash Bros. And not any of that new shit either we're talking either melee or the OG. And not any of that wimpy, baby play modes. We're doing 99 stock, no time limit, for items only fans (get it?). And every 10 lives you lose, you gotta take a shot. Maybe wanna kick it up another notch I mean you can throw in something harder to get through what is probably going to be one of the most grueling and annoying ways to settle an argument. But here's the kicker, that's the whole point. By the time they either finish the match or just give up cause it's been three hours of "PIKACHU PIKACHU PIKACHU", they're gonna be so sick of it they won't even care about the original argument in the first place. Heck they may not even remember if they drink enough at that point. Now I'll have you know that in all the times we've tried this it has only failed one time. And in that case we just called the young man's mother to come pick him up and he was grounded for at least a month. No more super smash for that guy. RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - ztarwarz - 06-21-2021 Considering Pama's hotheaded nature and unwillingness to let a poor performance slip by without comment, whether it's his own or his teammates, it might be a surprise to some that he has actually been the guy to cool down the Arizona locker room after a poor performance leads to a loss. Generally, he goes to the whole team and gets whoever screwed up to talk about it first. As this has somewhat oftentimes been him, he has gotten somewhat practiced at delivering apology talks postgame to the locker room. Cortez, Triplet, and Nakamura are also common features of the apology talks. That being said, this has led to mixed results. It helped lead to a comeback victory week 1 over the Silverbacks, but Arizona has also had multiple losing streaks this season and the talks didn't seem to help with that. Of course, these are for more massive things. If it's a more minor situation, Pama's probably just going to take people to the side and ask them about how they are feeling and why they are upset. You don't need to make a big deal out of a situation if the situation isn't that big of a deal in the first place. The Butchers will send their elite offensive lineman, Julio Jones, to the Outlaws in exchange for some additional draft capital in the next offseason. It's the second move of this nature that the Butchers have made this season, having previously shuttled their best secondary player in Tyron Shields to the Berlin Fire Salamanders for a 3rd round draft pick. The moves are a signal to the rest of the league that the Butchers are in decline, their championship window having closed. Tensions are high during practice--some players wonder if they will be the next to go, while others privately grumble about how they want to play for a winning team. The team is scheduled to finish the remainder of the season on the road, with a losing record looking more and more likely. After being approached by the coaching staff to help smooth things over with the rest of the team, Juan Domine can think of no player better suited to the task than longtime veteran Tree Gelbman. After nine seasons in the ISFL, all of them with Chicago, Gelbman has announced her intentions to retire at the end of the season. This somber realization lends gravity to her words. She reminds the team of how poorly the team was performing when she was a rookie and how they banded together to right the ship. Eventually the trade deadline passes, and no further changes are made to the roster. Domine's thoughts drift to his rookie season, when the team had just finished with the worst record in the ISFL. More specifically, he thinks of legendary Butchers LB Mike Hockhertz. Hockhertz was in his prime when the team was at his lowest, yet he still performed to the best of his ability, putting together an incredibly prolific career as one of the best tacklers in the game. It seemed that Domine would be headed in a similar direction. What would his legacy be? RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - Dp-420 - 06-21-2021 The last thing any football team needs is turmoil from within. If a Royals-on-Royals crime broke out in our organization, it would be less than ideal. How would I handle this situation? If I witnessed the altercation, step one would be to remove the target, or the person the aggressor is going after. In order to prevent any thing further from happening. If I wasn’t present when the situation perspired, I would find out who was involved, and gather as much information as I could in order to get a good understanding on the events that occured. The next step would be to start a dialogue, preferably with all parties that were included. Sort of an airing of the grievances type thing. There’s a lot of alpha male personalities in a locker room. There is also sometimes just annoying ass dudes, however, every one in that locker room is there because they can help us win and get to our ultimate goal of winning championships. Sometimes we got to put our pride aside an deal with stuff for the greater good of the squad. That can be hard to do day in and day out. Especially if you are embarking on a losing streak, and things look bleak. Then after we aired out the grievances, we would go into the common area of the locker room and get every one’s attention. Then Im making these dudes hug it out. The final message I would make is how we are a family. We are brothers and sisters, and just like siblings we are going to squabble from time to time. But what makes the difference between family and non-family is we still love each other. We always have each-others back. No matter what. We may fight, but at the end of the day we have a common goal and common interest. That’s to win ball games and to get to the ISFL. Thankfully, in the London locker room, we don’t ever have to deal with these types of situations. You would think that would not be the case, with Welch and his rivalries and all the high-profile personalities we have in that locker room, but we just make it work. We are all Royalty, and that won’t change for anything. One thing I do know, if anything did hit the ceiling, we have the leadership and guidance to get through it without skipping a beat. Code: 404 RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - unconfident - 06-21-2021 If an argument broke out in the Bondi Beach locker room, id probably take an approach something like this: "We are 1-10, why are you arguing at all? Blame each other all you want, but literally no one is performing to their standards, so getting all in each others faces about it really isn't worth it." After the dust settles, I'd probably actually do something useful and individually talk to each of the players involved, get their side of the story, and consider their circumstances before immediately trashing it because getting mad right now is pretty pointless. At this point, we might as well just enjoy the season for what it is, an excuse to get onto the field every week, play some football, and have a grand ole time. It's Florida after all, lets go crush some beers, take our shirts off, and play some drunken, low quality football. We're all here to have fun and our season is pretty much over, why not own it? I think a speech like that will really resonate with all of my teammates, as they're all fun loving people who probably want to get drunk on the job anyways. I just think arguing with each other is a distraction, and we need to be focusing on having fun this season, and improving for next season. Code: 223 words RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - dude_man - 06-21-2021 These situations need to be solved in a delicate manner. It can be easy to show sides, and with all things like that, it can cause further division within the locker room. Now I’m not going to say who it was and what happened exactly because that really isn’t my place, but because this happened, I need to make sure both parties aren’t going to make this a big deal and it needs to be solved as soon as possible. I spoke with Party A and it was revealed that he heard Party B talk mad crap about them and that they weren’t pulling their weight. I then talked with Party B and asked if that was true, Party B confirmed that he did say that, but it was more to hype them up and get a chip on their shoulder, but he didn’t mean to make it affect Party A so harshly. After talking with both sides about it, it was clear that Party B should have just cleared the air with Party A, but also that Party A should have also reached out to Party B if it escalated that bad for him. Once I figured it out, I both sat them down and discussed with them that they should be building each other up and realize the competitive side sometimes gets the best of us, but not to let pride affect the relationships of other teammates. They both agreed and it was solved in the best possible manner. RE: (S29) PT 5 - Arguements - Tacoshoppe - 06-21-2021 PBE Affiliate |
